Size comparison between the Kriegsmarine’s capital ships, all in 1/1100 scale:

Bismarck class battleship: 2 units

Scharnhorst class battlecruiser: 2 units

Admiral Hipper class cruiser: 3 units (+2 incomplete)

Deutschland class cruiser: 3 units

For a grand total of just 10 capital ships built, which didn’t even operate all at the same time, as at the start of WW2, Graf Spee (Deutschland-clas) was sunk off the coast of Uruguay in 1939 while both Bismarcks and one Admiral Hipper weren’t ready yet, then a year later in 1940 the missing Admiral Hipper cruiser, Blutcher, was sunk off the coast of Norway while Tirpitz was still finishing construction, then finally, with Tirpitz in sea trials, Bismarck was sunk by the Royal Navy in 1941.

The peak of Germany’s battle fleet was 1941, with Bismarck recently commissioned, 2 surviving cruisers from each class and both Scharnhorst active, for a grand total of just 7 capital ships in service.
