fwiw my take on that first scene where Jayce and Viktor meet is like. Viktor is the most powerful person in the room in that scene and he knows it and he is enjoying it a bit. He doesn't know fuckall about Jayce but I am certain he knows that this is the Kirammans' penthouse. If Heimerdinger didn't tell him then Grayson would have, because this isn't just a random break-in, this is the real estate of Piltover's 1% and a certain amount of discretion is expected.

So I think he'd assume Jayce is just some rich kid because who else hangs out with the Kirammans and he's put the whole thing in the category of "oh ho ho rich kid experiences a Consequence," and therefore I think he'd be neither particularly sympathetic toward Jayce nor particularly worried that he could face a life-derailing punishment for this. Like Heimerdinger, he probably expects Jayce to get off with a slap on the wrist--which he very well might have if he'd followed Heimerdinger's advice and kept his mouth shut about magic. (Of course then there would be no plot, because the mention of magic is what gets both Viktor and Mel interested in Jayce.)

It's not until he's flipping through Jayce's notebook that he's like wait just a goddamn minute and Jayce gets immediately reassigned to Gotta Know More About This Guy in his mind. I don't think he's even expecting to find Jayce at the penthouse later. He goes back to look at the board and/or to look for any more research materials that he may have missed. But then Jayce is there and he's about to off himself and Viktor is like wait you can't do that I have follow-up questions.

you know when you get Autism Mad. like something happens in a non-ideal way and in your brain you know it literally doesnt matter but in your other more autistic brain youre like screaming & scrying & shitting the bed etc. i think you should be able to go into settings and opt out of that. i have better things to get upset about than failing to put up a decoration on the optimal day or being too stubborn to solve a problem via simple communication

honestly i think this is my favorite jayvik frame of all times. like Jayce looks so purely in love here, his gaze is full with adoration and i can’t see ANYTHING platonic about it.

and now since Amanda said their ending felt “romantic and beautiful” to her, i fear we can establish it was MEANT to be this way. like the look on Jayce’s face is CANONICALLY romantic. the animators did this on purpose. what do i do with this information now.

A strong case could be made that Jayce is actually the sapiosexual one.

I think the fact that Viktor and Mel are objectively two of the most people beautiful people in the world kind of obscures this, but Jayce first heart-eyesed at Viktor when he said he wanted to help Jayce's research, he first gave Mel a rather stunned/considering look when she likewise bought in enough to Hextech to be willing to buy them a night to prove it.

But Jayce didn't sleep with Mel until after he called her a, "good teacher" and expressed how he was impressed by how she taught him to work the room at the opera, how he couldn't have done it without her.

Obviously, I think looks are a factor too, how could they not be with two stunning people like that.

But I can't help but wonder if for someone like Jayce, I dunno, he's so gorgeous himself I kinda wonder if he really doesn't see appearances as much? The people he wants to spend time with aren't, "the beautiful people" of Piltover, he wants to spend time with people who believe in Hextech and who are as smart as him if not smarter.

I also think from a fanfic perspective, it would be kind of objectively hilarious if Viktor wishes he was only sapiosexual but he isn't sapiosexual, he wants to lick Jayce's muscles so bad it sends him into a full villain arc, and it's Jayce who is the demi one who is just really into smart people who get him and that he can talk to, so all this time Viktor's been measuring himself up against this impossible standard of male beauty that is Jayce fucking Talis, he doesn't realize that it never mattered to Jayce at all, he could have looked like anything (or even like the Machine Herald?) and Jayce would have been into it because he really does love Viktor's brain more.

(I also think this would be rather hilarious in a heartwarming way for Objectively Most Beautiful Woman in the World Mel Medarda to learn that Jayce liked her looks ok, but it was really her being into Hextech and being smarter than him that won him over. I genuinely wonder how she'd process that or if it would lead to a whole extra spiral of, "Oh no he's actually a really nice person and I'm kind of falling for him what have I done?")
