Q-Tip - NYC 2001 added to the snakeandcameraprintshop.com . One of my early editorial assignments for King Magazine. I shot this at the studio where he recorded Kamaal The Abstract. I rediscovered the shoot by chance when digging through some old boxes of test Polaroids, which led me down a rabbit hole… get ready for lots of #oldschool Borucki shots coming your way. . #qtip #kamaaltheabstract #tribecalledquest

Canal St, Nov 2016 When I was little my dad would take me to work and on lunch break we would explore all the crazy plastic and junk shops on Canal. I realize this is why I keep coming back her with the rig. I have always loved this area. #jbwetplate #wetplate #streetphotography

Shooting Ron Wood in Detroit in 2015 was a bucket list gig for me (I'm still patiently waiting on Tom Waits and The Boss). The day went great, Ron was incredibly kind and easy going, and I got the shots I wanted. Perfect. (This image was one that didn't make it into the final spread, but like what happens so often, my favorites are found in the ones that don't.) I knew photographing a legend was going to be a good time, but what I couldn't have predicted was how much I would be inspired by this man. Ron Wood has been doing this music thing for a long time—longer than I've been on this planet. Yet he showed up with an enthusiasm unmatched by most acts that have been in the business for less than a minute. The music, the work, he's still excited by it. I've been shooting a long time—over twenty years now. But seeing him, like that, opened my eyes to how lucky I am to be doing this thing I love so much, and how I should maybe show up more often in a spirit of gratitude and enthusiasm like it was my first big job. Because I am lucky. And so is he. We're doing the things we love, and there's no reason to be less than 100% amped on that. We should all be showing up for life a little more like Ron Wood. Excited and ready to rock. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy this image. #ronwood #rollingstones @guitaraficionado

NYC Salt is an amazing program for high school students. Heres an awesome chance to get killer prints with a 20% discount and you get to help a good cause. 100% of the proceeds will be donated for the cause! Please share and repost! Use the code: salt20 snakeandcamera.com (or click link in my profile) See below for more info about Salt. We are raising funds to support an opportunity this year to help more low-income first generation students find their voices through photography and get into and persist through college. This opportunity is in the form of a larger facility that will not only save money but will provide the space needed for our students to develop awarding winning portfolios, attend college prep classes and receive mentoring. Your support will ensure that our students have a comfortable, safe, and well-equipped space to learn and cultivate their talents. Furthermore, it will give us the capacity to reach many more students and have an even greater impact in the long-term. Please consider helping us build our capacity so that we can bridge the gap and level the playing field, creating a more diverse art world and enabling our students to receive an equal opportunity for higher education and successful careers. https://www.crowdrise.com/nyc-salt-photography-program/fundraiser/michaelkaminski/setup_success/member nycsalt.org
