The Museum of disABILITY History is dedicated to advancing the understanding, acceptance and independence of people with disabilities. The Museum’s exhibits, collections, archives and educational programs create awareness and a platform for dialogue and discovery.
Established in 1998 by Dr. James M. Boles, and developed with the generous support of People Inc.. and the The Golisano Foundation, the Museum of disABILITY History has steadily expanded over the years and, in late 2010, moved to a brand new location in Buffalo NY. The Museum of disABILITY History isn’t your typical museum. There’s always something new to explore at this living, breathing place. A vibrant new world is just waiting to be explored. Come on in.

This week our “Hero of the Week” is JLWNY member Susan A. Hubbard/Steampunk Harley Quinn.
Cosplaying since 1999, Susan started out as a Sailor Moon cosplayer attending west coast conventions. These days she’s often found at numerous WNY events as Harley Quinn or Captain Marvel, and in her rare off time is an accomplished pet photographer. While she’s always there to help out a good cause, she loves to help out our furry, feathered and scaled friends.
2 of the many great charities she supports are The SPCA Serving Erie County, NY & The Silver Lining for Pit Bulls, Inc. (which is where Scooby the Wonder Dog came from)

This weeks Charity Spotlight: Variety - the Children's Charity of Buffalo & WNY
Variety – the Children’s Charity of Buffalo & WNY has been serving the needs of WNY’s sick, disabled, and disadvantaged children for over 80 years. Unlike most charitable organizations that focus on a single disease or area of need, Variety focuses on multiple unmet needs of children who are sick, disadvantaged or live with disabilities and other special needs at a local, national and international level. The beneficiaries of Variety support include Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, the Robert Warner Rehabilitation Center, and dozens of other local children’s charities.
This year’s telethon will be held on March 3rd from 7am until 6pm on WKBW with benefits going to The Variety Tent #7 Robert Warner, MD Rehabilitation Center, Oishei Children's Hospital and other local children’s charities. Tune in then and help out the kids.
