I think it would be fun to create a power ranking each week to see if we can predict who would make it to the final 3. Most episodes, I will base the power ranking on how they perform in Mini Challenge(25), Maxi challenge (25), runway looks (25), and of course…personal judgement lol (25). But since episode 1 is a little different, this week’s power ranking is based on their Maxi Challenge (50) + Personal Judgement (50).
Mystery Queen 0/100
Well, we don’t anything about her yet, so…
Kimora Blac
Jaymes Mansfield
Kimora Blac. 15/100 (10 + 5)
Kimora’s Gaga  was deemed to be uninspiring, while her hometown homage was considered cheap and not in the spirit of Las Vegas, and I agreed. The chance of her going home first seems pretty high. Plus I’m getting this vibe that the judges didn’t really live for her, and I can see why. Up ‘til this point, she just doesn’t seem to have anything to offer beside her body-ody-ody!
Jaymes Mansfield. 25/100 (15 + 10)
Jaymes’ hometown homage was read to filth for missing an opportunity to use Milwaukee to camp it out. And while judges didn’t seem to have issues with her interpretation of Gaga’s Vogue cover, It was her timid personality that makes them, and me, worry that she might go home soon.
Farrah’s Gaga look
Trinity’s Gaga look
Trinity Taylor 38/100 (35 + 3)
Judges seemed to strongly dislike her homage hometown look, claiming that it didn’t show Orlando in the best way. I personally didn’t care for it that much, the sun anus comment…gurl lol. Despite so, judges loved her AHS gaga look, and it was also one of my favorites, actually!
Farrah Moan. 50/100 (20+30)
I, love, Farrah. But I agreed with the judges, she didn’t perform very well. While I was living for her hometown homage, apparently the judges didn’t think it was very Vegas-y. She also missed an opportunity to do a tear-away, and instead left the judges unimpressed with her choice of the shapeless robe from Gaga’s Alejandro.
Shea with her Hotdog Headdress
Miss Peppermint looking sickening
Alexis Michelle in Gaga’s Golden Globe Dress
Sasha Velour sporting a lush wig
Shea Coulee 55/100 (40 +15)
Shea came out with a big sausage headdress that was funny and clever, and her homage to mystique’s “Bitch, I’m from Chicago” was everything! Despite so, Gaga thought that she went a little too far with the details for the second look. I personally dislike it because it looked significantly different to the original dress.
Peppermint 60/100 (25 + 35)
The judges thought that her hometown homage was…expected and uninspiring. It was okay, she looked gorgeous. While they didn’t seem to be bothered with the gaga look, Gaga did say that Peppermint made some questionable choices regarding the detailing. Again she looked gorgeous, but she’s naturally gorge, so you need to give us more, P!
Alexis Michelle 62/100 (35 + 27)
Just like Peppermint, Alexis hometown homage got a little read especially by Michelle. Judges wanted to really see the “messages”  instead of just funky looking words written wih marker on her swimsuit. Despite so, she looked STUNNING in Gaga’s golden globe awards dress. That hourglass curve, that’s what a good drag looks like to me!
Sasha Velour 65/100 (40+25)
Okay, I know she was at the top three, and lots of people love her, so she should probably ranks higher in this power ranking. While she only received a minor critiques from Michelle and Gaga regarding her props, what makes her placed sixth is just the fact that she labeled herself as the artsy-fartsy queen and I don’t like that lol. Like, there’s a little serena chacha in there, I know it….
Aja’s hometown homage look
All Charlie’s looks
Valentina looking very escandalo!
Aja 67/100 (30+37)
Aja went into the competition head strong, she was one of the frontrunners for sure, so that’s give her a lot of power already. Despite so, her hometown homage was also deemed uninspiring. While judges loved her Commes de Garcon look, she was read for her terrible makeup.
Charlie Hides 70/100 (35 +35)
I like Charlie because she’s crudely funny. Except that little tearway mishap, I think she did pretty well! Judges seemed to love her Gaga look.
Valentina 90/100 (45 + 45)
Honestly the fact, that she only looked that polished while only been in drag for 10 months makes me STUN! The judges seemed to really love her, and so do i. I thought her mariachi look was superb, and while the judges was okay with her gaga look, for me it was lacking in drama or something…
Eureka 95/100 (45 + 50)
Obviously the judges loved her, but I kinda do too! Okay, her challenge looks weren’t my favorite, but I really like her personality. She’s funny, quick on her feet, and a little bit shady in the best possible way. I love how she opt for comedy for her hometown homage, and the judges loved her gaga look.
1.Nina Bonina Brown 98/100 (48 + 50)
Obviously he’s at the top of the pack after that first episode. Why? She went in with the most ridiculous entrance outfit, her hometown homage was so celebrated by the judges, and she chose the right gaga look to fit her drag aesthetic. So I’d say she is a force to be reckoned with, although winning the first challenge is not always a sign of going far. Remember LaGanja?
Eureka’s Hometown Homage look
Nina in her hometown homage and entrance look
Summaries:
In Danger of Going Home: Kimora Black and Jaymes Mansfield.
Bottom Pack: Trinity Taylor, Farrah Moan
Middle Pack: Alexis Michelle, Peppermint, Shea Coulee
Top Pack: Nina Bonina Brown, Eureka, Valentina, Aja, Charlie, and Sasha Velour.
So, what do you think drag racer? Do you guys agree?
Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 9, Episode 1 Power Ranking! Oh My Gaga! I think it would be fun to create a power ranking each week to see if we can predict who would make it to the final 3.

Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Power Ranking Based on the Meet-the-Queen Videos
Honestly, there is nothing that got me more excited than watching Rupaul’s Drag Race! I’ve been living for the show since I watched my first season, which was the fourth season. *go back to party city where you belong!!* As sad as it sounds, the show usually becomes one of the highlights of my year, especially with me being in such a carceral state from working at home. Honestly, truly, waiting…

So, France has just won Miss Universe. Felicitations!
Being a beauty pageant enthusiast, Miss Universe 2016 Coronation night was a pretty exciting one for me.
Do you know that the last time a European won the title was about 26 years ago? Since then, the crown was mostly handed over from one Latinas to another.  Not that there’s anything wrong with it, Latin women are some of the most gorgeous out there, not to mention the men, OMD!  But you know, a little diversity sure would be nice from time to time, there are a lot of beautiful women outside the Americas too, you know!
Anyway, France has been doing really well in the pageant, placing seven times for the last eight year. So, it was definitely due time for France to snatch the crown!
For me, one of the most interesting things about the French pageant is that it somehow shows me that French beauty is highly diverse.
You see, I’ve been a beauty pageant enthusiast since 2005, the year when Indonesia debuted in the international pageant world. I didn’t pay that much attention to countries like France in the beginning because they often underperform in such pageant. So, If you asked me 10 years ago about how the French beauty standard looks like, my answer might be the typical blue-eyed blonde Barbie doll. But I was wrong.
When Chloe Mortaud represented France in the 2009 edition of Miss Universe, I was quite puzzled. She was darker in skin, of African descent, and stunningly exotic-looking.  I did know France has a strict border policy along with its policy towards immigrant. I think it was the year where the ban of hijab in France was making quite a ruckus here in Indonesia. So I do think it was a nice surprise when they send a minority in an international event like Miss Universe.
Chloe Mortaud of 2009
Flora Coquerel of 2015
It’s not that they stop sending delegates who are more commonly associated with the thypical French girl (Camille Cerf of 2014), but even the Caucasian delegates since Chloe has been very tanned and brunette such as Malika Menard of 2010, Laury Thilleman of 2011, Marie Payet of 2013, and of course our beloved queen Iris Mittenaere, Miss Universe 2016, And if it were a strategy executed by their national director, it’s definitely a good one.
Camille Cerf of 2014
Malika Menard of 2010
Laury Thilleman of 2011
Marie Payet of 2013
For me, One of the most beautiful Miss France that has ever graced the stage of Miss Universe would have to be Flora Coquerel of 2015. She is definitely a stunner.  Being the tallest Miss France ever (1.81m), gifted with exotic features (she is of Beninese descent), and supposedly very smart (she is a student of International Trade and she scored the highest in the interview round of Miss World), she was everybody’s favorite to win the crown, including me. Sadly, she was cut in the top 5 after stumbling though the Q&A round. She was unjustly asked a question about how to solve terrorism. Like, gurl? Really?? Even The United Nations can’t solve terrorism; how you’re gonna expect to get answers from a beauty queen?? LOL.
In addition, the new Miss France that will represent her country in next year’s MU is also of African Descent, with the same striking appeal as last year’s Flora Coquerel only younger.
Alicia Ayles of 2017
I had the opportunity to visit France back in 2014 for three days where I literally see so little minority in Paris except those in the segregated area where you would see so many Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant (forget the name).  So, I think the diversity of French beauty pageant is definitely inspiring. I mean, I have never seen any black women, Indian, or any other minorities represent the UK, and I’m sure London is a lot more accepting when it comes to immigration and assimilation. So, kudos, France!

Ayayay! I’ve always had a thing for Latinos. I’m not sure what it is. It could be their look, their dark complexion, i’m not sure. They have this, um, personality thing, they are naturally full of passion and sex appeal. Obviously not all of them are Ricky Martin, Diego Boneta, or Wilmer Valderrama. Some of them are a little bit more of George Lopez. But if you were to give me a Georgo Lopez one,…

The Best-Dressed of 2016 LaLaLaFest: Looking Good Amidst Cikole’s Muddy Situation.
LaLaLa Fest, the first ever international forest festival, was said to be a real fuckery when it was held about two weeks ago at Cikole Pine Forest. Despite so, I’m not here to discuss all the tomfoolery and buffoonery going on up in derr… how the committee was supposedly unprepared for the things that Mother Nature had in store for them, the scheduling issues, the rain, the MUDDY situation.…

ManCandy Monday: Joe Jonas Floods Your Basement
Honestly though, for the past three years or so Joe is not exactly the one who comes to mind when you think about the Jonas Brothers. Nick. It’s been all about Nick and how he went from adorable to please-let-me-lick-your-abs type of hot. How he went from this little kid with his drumsticks to this beefcake with massive guns. So yes, i kinda forgot that he actually has a brother, Joe Jonas, whom…

Asian Queens of the Rupaul’s Drag Race
Miss Kim Chi was the first queen to be announced as this season’s contestant of rupaul’s drag rac (yay! asian represent!). For that very reason, i would like to take a look back to all of the asian queens that have been on the show. Here they are in the least to most liked order.
9. Jiggly Caliente (Season 4)
Tumblr media
jiggly was a hot mess in her season, so it seems fitting that i see her drag style as “ghetto-ass plus size asian barbie.” She is filipina and she is that bad ass asian girl you see on the street.
8. Phi Phi O’hara (Season 4)
Tumblr media
i honestly did not know she is of filipina descent, i though she was a latin girl, or a jersey girl. But anyway, as far as her drag style, she was the showgirl, but i did not really dig her makeup, because it was pretty busted until like, late in the season. Plus, she was really unbearable to watch in her season!
7. Vivienne Pinay (Season 5)
Tumblr media
Miss Vivi is of Filipina descent, hence the name Pinay. I can only describe Miss Vivi’s style of drag as “Pure Fish”. (fish: high resemblance of a real female) But then again most asian queen are fishy af though. She seems to be resting on pretty a lot, that’s why she did not get far in her season.
6. Ongina (season 1)
Tumblr media
Miss ongina is the original asian queen in rupaul’s drag race. Ongina is a unique queen, she often go bald in drag, but when she put on some wig she can be a real fishy queen. It seems that Ongina is also a pinay.
5. Gia Gunn (Season 6)
Tumblr media
“Just got off the boat, you know, little trip from asia, just landed like fresh tilapia”
yass, miss gia is definitely one of my favorite asian queens ever. Her drag is a glamourous asian fish with a little Japanese influence, as she is of japanese descent. She went home wayy too early in her season, i wish to see her in All-star2.
4. Manila Luzon (Season 3)
Tumblr media
Well, technically, Manila Luzon is only half-asian, but she identify herself as a proud pinay. Just like many other asian queen she is fish as fuck. Her drag is a little bit difficult to describe as, to me, she has two type of drag style. The first one is when she goes “Rich Mistress” drag. which is when she goes super fish and glamorous. Then, there’s the more tongue-in-cheek cuckoo manila, like that one time she wears a pineapple dress, mammoth dress, or the muppet dress.
3. Raja (Season 3)
Tumblr media
Rajaaa! I’d describe her drag as Runway Fashion Model meet National Geographic Ethnic chic. She is known as the fashion girl on the show, but also her skills to mix culture and fashion, like that one time she dress up as an indian goddess or native american princess. She is of Indonesian descent though.
2. Jujubee (Season 2)
Tumblr media
Jujubee is definitely one of the more fishier queen on the show. But other than that, she is also that home girl that you love to hang out with. Her drag is very modern asian-american girl, those girls that you might see in downton CA or HI. She is of Lao descent
1. Kim Chi (Season 8)
Tumblr media
i so cannot wait to see miss Kim Chi on RPDR 8!! the show haven’t even started but i’m already on #teamkimchi. Her drag is just soo sick! It’s a mix between a japanese hinamatsuri doll realness (eventhough she’s of korean descent), harajuku clown mug, and avant garde creepy porcelaine doll chic. I live.
