Is loneliness a disease the world is unaware of?

A little over a month and a half ago, the world lost a great human, who was capable of making anyone collapse in peals of laughter.

At the time, I wondered how his family, his friends and loved ones were unaware of what he was going through. Till this summer...

I am unemployed. I was an engineer. I graduated with an MBA 5 months ago. Friends and family say finding a job should be a breeze for me. And yet, I sit here at my wit's end, fearful that I have ruined relationships with my family because I have borrowed money from them and a huge debt bearing over me, thanks to looming student loans.

I am afraid. Afraid of picking up the phone and talking to people. Because every conversation is the same. "Did you find a job?", "How many interviews have you had?" "You must be doing something wrong".

I try to stay strong, not take anything personally. But it's hard. Hard because I'm afraid of having no good news for ever. Hard because my family doesn't have time to talk to me. Hard because I've lost my friends since I'm afraid to talk to them.

People wonder why people go online and broadcast every little detail of their lives. I used to wonder how a person could feel so alone in the world.

People forget that people have problems. No one wants to hear about other people's troubles. We forget the essence of what it is to be human.

And you wonder why the funniest man in the world took his life? He was alone.
