The Brighter Side of Phones
A lot of us always says that social media, mobile apps, or simply even phones, aren't doing us any good in life. However, in my opinion, if there's a con, there would always be a pro. There would always be a bright side to things.
For starters, the biggest issue on phones and apps these days would be on how it makes us lazy and less productive. Is that true? Well yes it is, but not for everyone.
You can use your phone in a lot of ways. Sure, games can distract you, but on the brighter side, it can also become a way for someone to let out some stress. Everyone gets stressed for sure, and entertaining stuff would most likely take some of that away. After letting out that stress, one would be more productive than before since their minds would be a bit clearer.
Phones also provide a wide variety of other apps. An example would be note taking apps. Everyone has that laziness in them when it comes to writing most of the time, especially long essays and such. We may also have that perfectionist inside us that whenever we make a mistake in spellings and/or grammar, we might just blow up and crumple that paper and start over. However, with these note taking apps, life becomes easier. You can just type away what you like and whenever you make a mistake, you won't have to start over again since we have the so called backspace or delete key. Since such a thing exist, people tend to be more productive since they won't have to tire their hands out and waste tons of paper and ink.
As we explore through even more apps, we'll find facebook, twitter, and instagram. Three apps that are most likely used by people nowadays, especially facebook. Most people are kept up to date because of these apps. Word travels fast, especially through here. A single post may reach thousands in just minutes. We'll find a variety of entertainment such as the so called memes and other funny things here, and of course we'll also find posts about what's happening around the world. Still, perhaps the main reason why people use these apps would be it creates a connection for friends and family to interact. May it be through the comment sections of the posts or through private chat boxes provided by these apps. We communicate through our loved ones and are kept up to date to the latest events in their lives through pictures or even a few rant posts. This also helps us to not miss their birthdays at times. Funny as it may sound, but it's true that we forget people's birthdays every so often, and these apps just do the right job of sending us a notification that it's someone's birthday.
There are also these so called podcasts that you can watch on youtube or listen to at spotify. The purpose of podcasts would be to entertain, humour and educate. It may sound something boring but once you listen to them, it might just be what you need to keep yourself entertained or educated. And well, at times it may also be something that would help you get by the day because of some relatable and motivational things that might hit home.
Phones and mobile apps may not be the greatest things of all time, but ain't it a fact that it also helps in making everything better even a bit? The bottom point is, it all depends on the user. If they'll use it as a distraction, or use it with better purpose.

We always go crazy over how cute and fluffy animals can be, especially our own pets. However, have you ever wondered what ever goes in their minds? What do they see through their eyes? As animals don't have the ability to speak human language, we can only ever rely on the animal sounds that they make and the way they act.
As I spend time with my dog with each passing day, I've started to think that animals are just like us, humans.
It was just like any other day, however it was raining. As per usual, Natsu (the name of my dog), went to the door immediately, scratching it. This action of his always signified that I had to open the door, and so I did. Once I opened it, I could see how his eyes sparkled as he looked at the rain. He made this small jumps at me, that meant that he wanted me to pick him up. As I have him in my arms, we went outside and looked as the rain hit the ground, the plants, and every other thing. He was clearly fascinated even when it started to rain harder.
At some point he wanted to go down but I told him no because I knew he would run and play under the rain. He let out a whimper and looked at me with his cute puppy eyes. As a softie, I wasn't able to resist his cuteness and so I let him, telling him that he should stay by my side under the roof. Natsu barked at me as his way of telling me that he would. When I let him down, did he listen? Of course not.
As soon as he was back on the ground, he ran as fast as he could under the rain and of course I ran after him. We were both drenched already and it was getting cold but I still haven't caught him because he kept on running. After a few minutes of tirelessly running the rain, I finally had him in my arms. Yet as soon as I did, the skies rumbled and lightning flashed far away and we were scared to our bones so we immediately went inside.
After drying myself off, I started to give Natsu a warm bath. He was smiling during his bath and it make me think of some things. Natsu has always been with me for these past four years. As I watched him, he watched over me too. His actions on that day were the same things that I do. Always running around, watching how the rain falls, dancing under the rain, and fearing the flash that comes before my eyes when lightning strikes from afar. Natsu may have gotten his habits and fears from me, seeing how he acts a lot like me. Upon having this realizations, a smile started to creep up on my face and my heart felt warm even though I was still wearing my drenched clothes. It made me think about my connection to him and it made me think he was like a child, doing what his older sister did. He was just like any other human, with the only difference is the appearance and the ability to speak.
