endless list of attractive men ❤ kit harington
My parents brought us up in a very clever way, which was that they saw what we were interested in naturally, and then they encouraged whatever that may be. When I started sharing a keen interest in drama and the theater, instead of steering me away from it, they encouraged me to see plays and think about drama school.

APPRECIATE LIAM PAYNE
OT4 rant - WTF was this concert?! I watched the video you reblogged of them screwing up You & I. How many times have they sung it? Unprofessional. Having water fights, soaking each other and playing wheel barrow like children doesn't excise not knowing their own songs. I'm stunned by what I'm seeing. And the Larries suddenly praising Liam like he just arrived on planet Earth for the first time - no. Just no. Fans may love funny 1D moments but it's should be a music concert, not a comedy show.
I lean toward thinking the shenanigans with the songs were intentional, for whatever reason. But they always do goofy stuff like wheelbarrows, handstands and pyramids. That’s cute. It’s fine.
We’ll see if the media picks up on it. This is from a Norwegian website that reviewed tonight’s concert.
About attendance:
It has been claimed, in competing media outlets, there are 30,000 people here tonight. It cannot possibly be. If the capacity is 31,000, as has been stated, we can perhaps say 23-25 000?
About Zayn:
The audience seems to be able to live without the missed Zayn Malik, One Direction’s dark and mysterious “bad boy” who left them in March - probably to grapple with a shot at a solo career.
About “Kiss You”:
Another song that drowns in an unfocused performance.
About “Stockholm Syndrome”:
Louis Tomlinson is just mumbling.
About “Ready to Run”:
Group members continue to struggle with a violent fear of physical contact, they are constantly moving away from each other, which makes it difficult to focus on something or someone.
About “Little Things”:
Singing separately, and once again it is the squeaky Tomlinson coming out worst of it. The always smiling Horan exhibits certain qualities - he can certainly have a future as a troubadour in British nurseries. Payne and Styles are charismatic.
About “No Control”:
Tomlinson crumbles completely during his brief verse, but will be forgiven again.
About “Through the Dark”:
Payne has a somewhat nerve-racking tendency to break out in laughter every time he sings the first verse alone, and this is more Mumford & Sons- ish average. Tomlinson’s vocals fail once again - the boy cannot sing, you know. But he is good to pour water over the head of Payne. Which he does.
About “Story of My Life”:
…but the audience sings it more fervently than the four onstage. The above showing signs of wear now.
About “You & I”:
The pause before the first encore is long. Some begin to walk toward the exits.

Well that was brutal. There were some kinda nice things in there if you read the whole article, but the overall tone was extremely underwhelmed.
As for Liam, I do like it when people appreciate him in general. And I love that he shouted out the “always in my heart” sign knowing that his boys couldn’t. But this fandom is fickle. At this point I don’t think their appreciation is terribly sincere. It should be sincere because Liam is a gem and he’s a trooper because he’s going through it rn. Liam is fantastic.

The thing is, Zayn was about 8 during the Bradford Race Riots of 2001. Bradford remains such a racially charged place, and I would read a lengthy reflection written by Zayn about this.
Whoa, you’re right. I hadn’t even thought about that.
The Bradford Race Riots went on for three days in early July of 2001, and were brought about by escalating tension (”tension,” I find, is the PC way to say “ever-increasing violence and discrimination toward the minority”) between the town’s white, working-class majority and the growing South Asian population.
The tipping point: a brutal stabbing of an Asian man (whose name, regrettably, is nearly impossible to find among records and news reports from that time) on the part of the National Front, a white supremacist political/hate group in England.
Here’s an except from an article from Lanre Bakare in The Guardian, which I absolutely recommend everyone read:
I was a 17-year-old student at the time, and like many people in the city was shocked to see Manningham turned into a battleground. I remember picking up the Telegraph and Argus and seeing the faces of young men I’d played against in a football semi-final a few months earlier on the front page as wanted troublemakers. Harsh sentences followed for the Asian offenders and the city woke up to the fact that it had been sleepwalking into segregation for more than 30 years.
And Zayn would have been eight years old. Doniya would’ve been nine. Waliyha would have been a couple weeks short of three. Safaa wasn’t even born yet.
I can’t even imagine the fear and apprehension lacing the hearts of the Malik family during that time period.
If Zayn ever felt comfortable talking about it–childhood perspectives on these events are always so different than those of adults–I’d be very interested to read whatever he has to say. Particularly in regards to how it affected the atmosphere of Bradford over the next decade that Zayn spent there.
