As Rivetra Summerfest 2025 is getting closer, I'd like to share with you a brief preview of one of the fics I've prepared!

The frustration from the meeting with Erwin still hung on Levi’s shoulders. He focused on bathing his horse, just the two of them in the empty stables, the moonlight slipping in through the half-open door.

“You’re on my side, right, buddy?”

Philipp neighed.

“Yes, you are. You know we don’t need a fifth person in our squad.”

Levi rubbed the wet sponge against his muzzle, and the horse made a happy sound. He enjoyed baths, like his owner.

“Eyebrows insisted, but it’s only going to be a trial period. Hey, stay still. We can’t have you dirty. What will the other horses say?”

The events replayed in Levi’s mind as he scrubbed gently. Whenever he closed his eyes, the only thing he could see was that piece of paper Erwin had handed him.

It wasn’t Levi’s fault that she was the only survivor from her squad after the last expedition. He wouldn’t rearrange his own squad’s formations to accommodate her. Not that he doubted her skills, or that he had anything personal against her. But his squad was complete. Levi had personally hand-picked Eld, Gunther, and Oruo, and he wouldn’t endanger their progress by adding another member to their already efficient team.

“I realize you are uncomfortable with changes, but I can assure you that miss Ral is Elite squad material,” Erwin had said to him. “One month. That’s all I’m asking. And if you still don’t consider her a good fit after that, she’ll be transferred elsewhere.”
