The girl smiled and nodded, although she still believed it would have been impossible without her help. “Yes, I will, thank you. I’m afraid I lost the other one. I stayed too long and then it fell off as I hurried back towards the carriage to leave…”, she explained regretfully. “It was such a wonderful evening, though.”

“How could I ever forget? My life changed because of you! I’m so happy to see you again!”

“Well I had misplaced my wand for a short while, but luckily it just re-appeared.” The fairy replied, with a bright smile to see Ella so happy. “Now then, tell me all about the ball.” Of course she knew all about it, but she wanted to hear it from Ella’s perspective.

The fairy appeared on cue, appearing right in front of Ella. “Thank yourself. This evening wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t believed it could.” Her eyes fell the glass slipper in the young woman’s hands and she smiled. “Keep it safe, for it will remind you of what believing can accomplish.”

As she arrived back home, Ella called out, “Fairy Godmother! I saw my friend Kit at the ball! Thank you for the carriage and the gown. It was all so wonderful…”
