Since I am here, here is that “information” that I mentioned awhile ago.
Originally I wanted to do this long winded formal thing where I kind of explain the history of the term and just like, things in my personal life that relate to it, but I would never get this out if I did that (hence why it took me so long to get to this). So, instead, I’m just gonna say what I have to say straightforward and casually (at least what I see as such? I’m not saying this will be a short easy read)
I, as the coiner of this term, do not really identify with it. I made it those few years back because honestly I wasn’t mature enough to think about what coining a term would mean, but now at halfway through being 18 years old, I’ve grown and realized that something that seems like an easy solution and simple to do should still be thought out like any other decision: considering the cause and effect not just in the short term, but the long term as well.
I am a very technical person by nature, so as on paper, I could be identified as angled, and that fact does not bother me. I see it as technically true. But just on a personal level, I do not identify with it. That is why I keep this account, but don’t post much. I’m not taking away someone’s space, because in an on paper sense, I count as angled. If this was/becomes untrue, however, I would STILL keep this account, because I made it, im responsible for it, and frankly I do not trust giving it away to someone to be the new “defacto” person to go to for this information. Most likely, at that point if true, I would just shut the account down on my end and leave it alone as an archive.
On a last note, shorter than the parts prior, in general I am not really “active” in aspec spaces as whole anymore, online or in my personal life. Im very casual about it (but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about being aspec).
Feel free to ask me any questions about anything regarding this. I wanted to be clear about sort of “where I stand” and give honesty.

Angled
So, recently I learned something that hurt a bit, but it was my fault for not knowing. Honestly I was probably the only one not in the know?? Cuz like it just seems like something everyone else knew apparently. But yeah: oriented AroAce is only for people who are flat out aromantic and asexual. And so I’ve decided instead of being upset I would coin my own term that I hope will become as close to me as that label had been for the short while I thought it was mine, and that this could become cemented in the aspec community. I’m calling it Angled AroAce. Examples of how to use it would be: Bi Angled AroAce, Lesbian Angled AroAce, etc. Angled AroAce is a term for arospec aces, aro acespecs, and arospec acespecs. If we want to be specific, you would say for example: Bi Angled Demiro Ace, Lesbian Angled Aro Grayce, etc. I myself would be a Bi Angled AroAce, and to be specific, a Bi Angled Aro(spec) Grayce. I chose the word Angled because it is a synonym with oriented and also I liked the triple A of Angled Aro Ace. I chose a synonym to oriented because these concepts of oriented aroace and Angled aroace are similar, obviously. That is all I had to say about that and I hope I have made a good contribution to the community.

Angled Flag
If you read the tags in the post I made earlier then I just wanna say this isn’t the second post, I just forgot that I had to make a flag,,,,so that’s what this
I also wanted to thank @aromagni for inspiring my color choices because I looked at zer tags when ze rbed the original and ze had put that orabge would be a good color for the flag. It’s not orange tho because the orange one I made looked almost identical to the akio/lith flag, so I used yellow instead.
Color Meanings
Yellows: opposing to the blue in oriented flag, but mainly because the aroace flag is blue and yellow/orange, and since the blue is used for oriented, I thought it would make sense to have angled be yellow.
Light Brown - for the gray of the aro and ace flags. but to make the flag more cohesive it is not gray.
Dark Brown - Same reason as the light brown, and is a replacement of black (also I really wanted to make a brown part of the flag from when I originally wanted the flag to be pink and pink adjacent brown).

edit: new version of the post for the flag here, please reblog that one instead!
so my friend @vass-rieh and i decided to make our own version of a combined aroace flag!
created by merging together the widely-used asexual and aromantic flags, to represent people on either spectrum and those of us on both! the meanings are as follows, taken together from the meanings of the aromantic flag and the asexual flag, from bottom to top:
green and light green represent the entire aromantic spectrum
white represents the importance and validity of all relationships, feelings and forms of attraction and love, not just romantic and sexual together as is the societal norm, but platonic, just romantic, just sexual, sensual, aesthetic, queerplatonic, what-the-hell-am-i-feeling-even, etc.
black and grey represent the asexual spectrum, with the purple between them tying it to the original asexual flag, and representing the joining of the a-spec community, both ace-specs and aro-specs and the community they make together oh and it looks better like this with the purple in between, rather than just tacked on top of the aro flag
so yeah! if anyone has any suggestions, color changes and such, let me know! anyone who is on the aromantic or asexual spectrums, or both, is free to use the flag ^^

Revised aroace flag after some conversation among community members! The old flag I made can be found here, but I decided to change it after some criticisms that I received. This was primarily made with the experiences of aroaces who don’t split their attraction in mind since that’s how I feel and why I made it in the first place (also why it’s not purple and green) but any aroace-spectrum person can use it and there’s no need to credit me as it’s meant to be a community symbol. If you want things with this flag on it, check my Redbubble!
Ap/hobes and Ex/clusionists don’t interact
Color meanings are under the cut!

redoing this post for pride month, so!
here’s a combined aro/ace flag! specifically for people on both the aro and ace spectrum, so if that’s you and you wanna use it, please do!
i could do color meanings but i think their origin is obvious enough, plus i don’t want to say outright which color is for whom cause the whole flag is for the people who want to use it, whether you’re aromantic asexual, a greyromantic asexual, demisexual aro, cupioromantic ace, fraysexual frayromantic, just aroace, or use any other term for feeling like you’re somewhere around here and like the flag!
feel free to use it however you like, credit would be nice but honestly if you see it here first just don’t claim that you created it and let it spread if you like it :)
thanks to @vass-junk for helping me make the flag~ (and the original post from july 2018!)

The Asexual Spectrum, Aromantic Spectrum, and Aroace Spectrum flags
This is for the acespec, arospec, and aroace-spec flags first posted onto theflagarchive. This is an HD rendition of the flags, as well as updated formatting and more explanation for the stripes/colors, all posted together.
Flag explanations and FAQ below the cut.
Asexual Spectrum: A spectrum of all identities that relate to having differing sexual attraction from allosexuals.
The flag stripes are as follows: Dark blue is for the community, its history, and solidarity. Purple is for asexuality of all kinds. Red is for self determination, pride in your identity, and acceptance of your and others’ asexuality. Cream is for diversity in experiences and types of attraction.
Colors such as pink were chosen to represent some microlabels that use it, such as cupio, alongside flags like alloace, which has pinks and purples.
---
Aromantic Spectrum: A spectrum of all identities that relate to having differing romantic attraction from alloromantics.
The flag stripes are as follows: Dark green is for aromanticism in all forms. Light green is for diversity in attraction and experiences, recognition of the aro spectrum, and of other experiences within the community. Light yellow is for the aromantic community and its history. Teal is for pride in our identity, self acceptance and acceptance of others, and solidarity. Dark teal is for recognition that we are our own separate identity. We are not just part of asexuality, we are not confused, and we are not a modifier, we are a fully independent orientation that can be used with other labels, or used entirely on its own.
Yellow and blue were additionally added to represent the older renditions of the aromantic flag that had yellow, along with the alloaro flag which is predominantly yellow. The blue is particularly to represent some microlabels that use blue, alongside the aroace and aroace spectrum flags.
---
Aroace Spectrum: A spectrum of all identities that relate to having differing romantic attraction and sexual attraction from allo people.
The flag stripes are as follows: Green represents differences in romantic attraction. Off-white/blue represents diversity in experiences and attraction. Purple represents differences in sexual attraction. Dark blue represents our community, history, and solidarity.
The blue was chosen to represent some microlabels, such as oriented aroace, as well as a nod to the general aroace flag, which is partly blue.
Why different flags? Don't the originals include the spectrums already?
Yes! However, these flags are moreso supposed to represent the spectrum in its entirety. More emphasis is put on varying experiences and diversity, rather than simply "asexual", "aromantic", and "aroace". While the original flags do technically include us, not everyone feels very included under them. Plus, having spectrum flags can just be fun!
---
Can anyone on the spectrums use these?
Of course!
---
Should I credit the original coining posts separately, or just link here?
Well, theflagarchive was our blog (we don't use it anymore), so I would be okay with either one! Frankly, I originally made these flags quite a while ago, and the definitions/etc. aren't that great. Hence why I made this!
---
Can I edit these or use them in different things?
Yep! Don't even have to include credit. They're for the whole community, not just me.
