Wonderful plot!

In honor of @barryallenweek, this being the last day, I am posting an image set and prompt for a potential fic combining all 7 days.

So, this hits Fake Relationship, Time Travel, Online Friends, Coffee Shop, College, Misunderstanding, and Celebrity in some form or another. Maybe I’ll write it out in full someday if there is interest, but for now, here’s:

REWIND

While Barry Allen is going through his divorce, he doesn’t blame his wife – ex-wife now – because it isn’t Iris’s fault. It isn’t either of their faults. It had just never been right between them.

Nothing had been right since Barry became the Flash—the most popular superhero ever to get a movie franchise. He’d always wanted to be an actor, but he hadn’t thought much about being famous.

Sometimes he wondered if he would have been better off sticking with theater, smaller scale acting, and stayed in his hometown, working part time at that little coffee shop.

He still remembered the day he was scouted, during college after a big production, approached while making an espresso by an agent who said he was headed for big things if he got the right representation. The agent was right, but sometimes Barry wished he could go back, say “no thanks, I’m not interested in film or TV.” Maybe then he wouldn’t be alone in a big house without any friends or family close enough to him anymore to lean on.

After signing the divorce papers, he spent hours sifting through fan emails, trying to remind himself why he did this. Some made him smile. Others were creepy. A few were just trolls. And far too many would have been inappropriate even for Thirsty Tweets.

But then, just when he was going to call it quits, shaking his head at himself for wasting an entire evening, a new email came in from a familiar name.

Leonard Snart—an old acquaintance from college who Barry hadn’t thought of in years.

She remembered the incident clearly - her arguing with Rex Tyler about whether to save Ray and Amaya or not. It seems so long ago now, that moment when Martin declared she spoke for them.

“I have watched her become the beating heart and steady hand of this team,” he’d said. “She is the proper person to lead us.”

Leonard stopping the Anti-Monitor is the best thing I have heard

dude imagine. he could be walking over to the antimonitor saying his infamous “hate is cold,” shadow demons exploding around him, “hell is cold,” all of the heroes looking up to see him angrily walking straight in front of the antimonitor, they are breathless because holy shit he’s powerful, “and sucker,” now he’s putting his hands on the antimonitor’s shoulders as the villain screams in shock, “i am captain cold!”

and then everything turns white, it’s the end of the episode.

A little PSA for people who use AO3…

Gen refers to fic that is not focused on romance. If your fic is not a romance fic, please give it this tag.

Other refers to fic that is focused on romance, but is not specifically male/female, male/male, or female/female (like an OT3 (ship involving 3 people), a ship involving characters that are not male or female, etc). IT IS NOT FOR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. IT IS FOR ROMANTIC ONES. please for the love of all that is holy do not tag your family-relationship-centered fics as “other” you are going to give people a HEART ATTACK.

“Character/Character” is for romantic pairs. “Character & Character” is for platonic relationships like friendship, family, etc. Please do not tag family-centered or adult-and-minor-centered platonic character relationships as character/character for the love of all that is holy

The E rating is for smut and literally nothing else (unless you have other unusual reasons to rate it E–I’ve seen people apply it to non-smut fics as a deterrent to keep minors away from it, but keep in mind it’ll make it so people who are trying to avoid smut will not find your fic). Your fic that has a lot of graphic violence but no sexual content does not need an E rating.

The M rating is for fics that would basically be rated R if they were movies, and may contain graphic violence, some sexual content, and generally more serious subject matter than you would typically show a teenager. However, if your fic is almost entirely smut, please just give it an E rating.

Also, when you post a fic, you WILL want to give it a rating, or else AO3 will assume you’re probably posting smut and will warn everybody who clicks on your fic that it may contain adult content. If you don’t want that on your fic that contains no adult content at all, please just give it the proper rating instead of not rating it at all.

I just read the conversation and my mind goes like:

«That could work for Barry and Len.»

I read the rest and I began to grin like a maniac.

Overhead while walking to the parking lot, on campus: an actual real-life college-student + sugar daddy AU in the making:

Male College Student: so I think my roommate’s older brother is, like, hitting on me.

Female College Student: really??

Male Student: yeah, well…like, he’s like helping us out with rent and stuff? And he, like, wants to hang out a lot…like, even with just me, like, Roommate isn’t even there…and then he bought Roommate’s books for next semester, except he asked if I wanted to come to the bookstore, and then he bought my books. Like, I didn’t let him buy all of them ‘cause I felt weird. But then he bought me dinner. So, like…

Female Student: (half-joking) is he hot?

Male Student: uhhh…I guess? Yeah. Maybe. I mean, I dunno.

Female Student: wait, though, is this like a creepy thing? Is he creepy?

Male Student: no! No, dude, he’s not like–like he’s actually a pretty cool guy, like he’s paying for Roommate to go to college and helping us out, and he’s all smart, like he’s a lawyer and shit, and he’s, like, chill, y'know, and–

Female Student: oh my god you like, LIKE him.

Male Student: (loudly enough that heads turn) I’M NOT GAY.

Female Student: you totally like him!

Male Student: BUT I’M NOT GAY.

Female Student: you’re, like, gay FOR HIM.

Male Student: (stops walking) BUT–FUCK.

Female Student: you could, like, be dating a lawyer!

…at which point, because they’d stopped walking, I had to maneuver around them and pretend I’d not been eavesdropping, and find my car.

We may never know the outcome, but I like to think that Sudden Epiphany College Student and Roommate’s Hot Lawyer Older Brother are now happily dating. (I also wonder what Roommate thinks of this–as a friend I imagine he is pleased–and whether he was secretly hoping for this outcome.)

Anyway, though: imagine your OTP. :D
