Still feels weird that the same band made "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" and "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"

Ouya? Oh yeah!
Do you like console gaming, but not the walled gardens that the big players want to cage you in? If so, a promising-sounding console called Ouya, to be released next year, might be just what you have been looking for.
Ouya is an attempt at disrupting the console market with an open game console, where open means that it is running an open source OS (Android 4), that it is made easy and explicitly okay for you to hack it hardware- and software-wise, and that it is a lot easier for indie developers to create and publish games for this platform than is common for the big players.
Ouya has been successfully funded on Kickstarter within 12 hours and is, so far, the fastest project ever to reach a funding of one million dollars.
While there are, of course, people who are convinced that this project will not stand a chance against the established players, personally I am not quite so pessimistic. Crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and the high connectivity provided by the intarwebs have changed the landscape and the balance of power between suppliers and consumers.
Go, Ouya, go!
