I wanted to bring in someone to sort of "challenge" Kami. She's basically Kami's opposite personality and really wants to be her friend despite Kami not really caring.

I have more comics planned for these 2, just don't know when they'll come out since I'm a snail of an artist haha 😅

Happy birthday, sister!

When I made an account here, I didn't think I'd get much attention (what with instagram dying and all), and it'd be just another social media art account lost in the sea.

But literally THE FIRST WEEK I posted my Zora oc Quita and practically IMMEDIATELY received surprise fanart of her from this wonderful human being.

I was ecstatic already, and then she featured my characters in her lovely comics. Repeatedly!

Sister, yours has been my favorite account since I started here, and always will be. You're incredibly supportive, encouraging, talented, funny, smart, optimistic, and just a fantastic person. Thank you for including so many artists who don't exactly have their name out there. You've built a wonderful community here and I'm so happy to call you my friend.

What inspired her goal to become a mechanic on cruise ships?

And how did she come to own Chewy and Munchy?

"Uuuuuuh I get to fidget with junk and be on a cruise ship. Free meals, free room, full pay! Win-win-win c:<"

She also gets her regular dose of saltwater!

"I stole rescued Chewey from a lab. Saw them testing f*#%ing chemicals on 'im during a college tour and was like 'NOPE'! So snuck him out o' there. My buds didn't think I would do it, hah! They paid up >:}"

"Was hiking in the woods back home and saw some a$$hole shot Munchy's ma. So I grabbed the poor lil guy before the s*%!$head could do anything about it. F*#@ that guy!"

Kamitsuku (or Kami) is a feisty, reckless lil' Japanese ruffian 20-year-old shark girl! Her name literally translates to "bite" because when she was born, she bit her dad's finger! (He's ok. It just left a small scar)

This living firecracker is studying abroad in France for engineering. She wants to be a mechanic on cruise ships! She's fluent in Japanese, French, English, and is learning Chinese and Korean.

Her rat Chewey stays with her in her dorm, while Munchy is back home with dad. It's a little harder to sneak a boar into college oop

Her weapon of choice is her modified squirt gun she named Wasabi, in which she fills a different liquid each time.

^This guy's lucky it was just seawater this time. Examples of other fillings include sauces, paint, glue, oils, etc. Her emergency squirt pistol is always filled with pepper spray.

Kami's father is a Japanese fisherman who served in the navy and now works at his local harbor practicing sustainable fishing (or doing his best to!). Her mother, a Mako shark mermaid, adores him for helping her ocean out.

Kami puts on a reckless gangster front but is actually super chill, smart, and down-to-earth once you get to know her. She gets along pretty well with her colleagues and has good grades. Her favorite food is sushi!

Commenters seeing a diver harmlessly interact with a shark and then saying "this is why I never go in the ocean!" is like seeing a car wreck and going, "this is why I never drive a car!" except car accidents are a million times more likely than a shark attack.

Not that I'm comparing sharks to car wrecks. Just an example.

Finally got around to making my SU gemsona!💫

I fully vibe with Lapis Lazuli, what with being connected to water and all, so this is my Lapis sona!

She hates seeing garbage in the ocean, so she spends a lot of time cleaning things up.

I imagine she also hangs out with Sour Scream sometimes to just chill. He even gave her his Tamagotchi! (Which I'm totally getting soon, can't wait!!)
