Her stomach growled on the way home from the daycare, spotting the diner and deciding to pick up something to take home. She hoped they had small portions, knowing there would be some regret at the end of this. Frannie went up to the counter, taking a seat and spotting a familiar face. âHey, Juliette! I didnât know you worked here.â
@julietterussx
Seeing the girl, she looked all too familiar, before she placed the face with the girl in the bathroom whom she proceeded to get wasted with after their bonding. It was a surprise to say the least, and she quickly found a smile after adding, âI just started here actually. I needed something...stable in my lifeâso...here I am. Itâs nice to see you again!â

His thumbs ran over her knuckles, a large grin plastered on his face that didnât seem to be leaving anytime soon. âGood thing I have a job that Iâm decently good at. And you look like youâre doing well at yours too!â Anthony couldnât be happier for the both of them. Not only from making it this far, but for getting parts of their lives together. âCertainly, not I. Weâre defying all odds by making it this far, not that Iâm complaining in the slightest.â He chuckled, tilting his head. âItâs us, I canât be surprised anymore. But, I am happy I get to have this weird date with you and celebrate today.â He looked around the diner, âletâs hope it stays this slow too that way you can sit with me for most of it. Or Iâm going to end up ordering a ton of food just so you have to come to the table.â
âThatâs really good!â She started excitedly. With the way they both were, sometimes it left her mind boggled in how they both had come so far. Perhaps it was sheer dumb luck, but she would take it where she could. âI donât think I could ever complain about it. Sometimes I just feel like...Iâm the luckiest girl alive. You make me...feel alive.â Juliette uttered, easily giving into the emotions at play. âItâs us, but also itâs this town weâre in, all the situations life has thrown at us...everything. And nowâyou and me, in a diner, having a real date.â Or as real as one would get for them it seemed. âAs long as you leave a good tip at the end of the night, Iâll happily wait on you my entire shift.â

He chuckled, looking down at the suit. Anthony didnât think anything of it, only wanting to see her as soon as he could. âI didnât want to waste anymore of this day not being with you if I didnât have too.â He held the flowers out to her, almost forgetting them once she sat down with him. âMy hot date is you, hopefully. I know youâre working and Iâll try not to distract you. But by the time you get off, Valentineâs Day will be over and I donât want to miss our first one. So, I will order somethings and sit here, and you can join me when youâre able too.â
As she took the flowers, Jules let her smile blossom. âThank you.â She graciously added as she looked over the bouquet, before setting them aside to grab at his hands from across the table. âI would love to be your hot date, and I canât legally kick you out as long as youâre a paying customer.â There was a soft chuckle and a sly wink she gave back. âOur first Valentineâs Day together, who would have guess we would have made it this long?â After a pause she glanced around, glad that at least for now it was slow right before the big dinner rush. âThis might be the weirdest date Iâve gone on, but Iâm so glad that youâre here.â

Work might have gotten in the way to make any concrete plans, but Anthony wasnât going to let it get in the way of seeing her. On his way to the diner, he picked up flowers, the last bit he was able to find on short notice. He walked into the diner in his suit from work, sitting in the section she seemed to be working in. Sliding into the booth he perked up when he saw her, a large grin spread across his face. âHello, beautiful. Fancy seeing you here.â
@julietterussx
There was a way to distract her from everything that seemed to be going on lately, and that was to throw herself into a new job. Waitressing certainly wasnât the best, but with the holiday bringing in the fair share of people, she couldnât complain much with some simple glances and a classic uniform that helped serve looks, Juliette found perks in the position. And, once she spotted Anthony slide into his own booth, she couldnât help but take a break to see him. âYouâre the one who looks fancy in here, with your suit and attitude. Got a hot date tonight or something?â

âNo? Iâm happy they made me introduce myself to you. Although, I think eventually I wouldâve sucked it up and spoke to you anyways.â Somehow, he couldnât imagine what town would have been like without her. It felt big admitting that to himself, even if he wouldnât admit it to her right now. His hands rested on her thighs, âIâm not sure about matching crazies, but you sure are being fiesty tonight.â The alcohol could be to blame with the amount he figured she drank. âYouâre like a baby dragon, fiery and cute.â His own consumption of alcohol left him rambling without really knowing what he was saying, her kisses only distracting him more. The hands on her thighs slide higher, slipping under the dress she wore.Â
âSee, they made youâlike weâre supposed to be together or something.â Jules let it out, the fated destinies seeming too coincidental to be accidental. Still, as she pushed further up, it didnât take long for her thoughts to be subverted to something else. Grinning back down at him as she relaxed on top, she added, âIf Iâm your baby dragon, then youâre my teddy bear...noâyouâre my little panda bear, because you have this whole dual thing about you. And youâre super cuddly.â She chuckled back, before leaning down to kiss him once again, drunk rambling right back at him, not sure if she would even remember this part of their night. It didnât take long for her hands to start working at his pants though to help him slide out of them despite his distraction.

âUnless we get some sort of surgery, I donât think our faces are going to change much. But, weâre not them like you said. The major difference alone is that weâre two very different people from them.â A light chuckle escaped him, the reasoning behind it coming from a place most likely deemed unconventional. âI watch a lot of television. Iâd say itâs gotten me pretty far with some things. It must be a good thing we both like each other very much. We can deal with each otherâs antics.â An eyebrow raised as his head lifted slightly, getting a better look at her as she got up. âYou donât haââ Anthony abruptly stopped, her new position giving away where he hoped this might lead, even if it hadnât been his intention in the first place. âIf you take off mine, does that mean I can take off yours? It only seems fair.â
âDo you ever feel forced to be with me though? Because of them and how we look like them?â She might have been plastered, but her conversation with Ben seemed at the forefront of her mind, even as she sat on top of Anthony. âIâll have to show you how to work youtube sometime if youâre into learning specific things. And I think itâs more of us matching each otherâs crazies. You always meet me exactly where I need you to.â Glancing down at him, her hands slowly lifted his shirt, unbuttoning it as she went along, before she began trailing kissed up his chest towards his neck. âI want to do this. And I want you.â She nodded slowly as she lifted her head to meet his gaze with a slim smirk.

âI donât think theyâd let us live that way. We might look like their parents, but that doesnât mean theyâd take care of us like them. Plus, Hooky here has to go outside for potty breaks. I might be a slob sometimes, we canât go that far.â A standard somehow existed, even if the thought of laying in bed with her appealed to him in the basic sense of the term. âI watch a lot of movies. Iâve learned a thing or two. Itâs because Iâm persuasive, right? Thatâs why youâre in my bed.â He joked, rolling on his back. âThese clothes are uncomfortable but Iâm too lazy to get up.â
âI donât think Iâd want to live like that, as awful as the rest of the world may be. Itâs still nice to just get up, you know? Plus, I donât want to look like their parents anymore. Weâre not them, and it just makes everything weirder. Donât worry, weâll still take out this cute little guy whenever he needs it.â She said, letting a hand rub behind the pupâs ear momentarily. âYou have made a lot of progress, I will say. Very philosophical. And maybe a little persuasive. But I also think thatâs because I like you very much too.â She looked over at him, gaining an idea. âLet me help you out of them then.â She pushed herself up to sit up, before crawling and letting a leg settle on both sides of his waist. âItâs the least I can do after youâve done nothing but give me what I wanted tonight.â

Hooky laid next to him, one hand drunkenly petting at the small dog. He closed his eyes for a moment, shaking his head. âNo we donât. Weâd make the rules, we wouldnât have to do anything.â Anthony knew it wouldnât work like she said, eventually needing to get up for food or other necessities. His eyes opened again, memorizing her features as he wanted to remember this moment in the morning. Antâs free arm reached out, pulling her towards him. âAbsence makes the heart grow fonder, right?â He smiled, kissing her lightly. âI wasnât worried. You were the only person I wanted to be with too, but we needed that time apart for us to enjoy this one even more.â
âWe could become true slobs. Have Ben and Russ bring us food, and just live bedridden for the rest of our miserable lives.â It sounded awful, but as she laid there next to him, thinking about the ridiculous nature, she realized that it wouldnât be so bad if it was next to him for the rest of her days. As she inched forward, scooting herself along with his pull, she only smiled back to him. âFor someone so naive, you sure say a lot of really smart things sometimes.â She kissed back easily and falling harder and harder. âI guess it was worth it seeing that Iâm in your bed now.â

A smile spread across his face, easily agreeing with her request. âI can make both of those things happen. Although, we have to make it to the house first.â He chuckled, leading her in the direction of the exit. After his talk with the guy at the bar, all he wanted was to spend the rest of the night with her alone with Hooky. The walk home felt like nothing, timing passing rather quickly with their stumbles and his giddiness of finding everything hilarious. His bed never looked more comfortable, removing his jacket and shoes before laying face down on it, the dog excitedly barking having him reach over the side to bring him onto the bed. âCan we just not leave this bed forever?â He mumbled into the sheets, finally rolling over to look at her.
The relief that came with being able to kick off her heels came as she dragged herself across Anthonyâs place, losing a few inches to the shoes, but maintaining her stance before stumbling into the bed at his side. Laying on her side to look back at him, she whispered, âIâd like that, though eventually weâre gonna have to get up, you know that, right?â She was tired, but she also wanted to stay awake so long as she could with him. âI do like you. That was never a question. And...when I was drinking after I told you I needed space, you were the only person I wanted to be with.â

âOh, of course! Weâll have to exchange numbers so I can send it. Plus if we have a way to get a hold of each other, we can hang out again.â Frannie never believed in having some sort of cap on her friends list, hoping the other felt the same. âYouâre going to learn very quickly, I could never turn down any form of drinks. Typically goes rather well depending on the level of alcohol Iâve already consumed.â
âOf course!â Juliette was happy to have found someone to help her make herself feel okay about her decisions, and seeing as she was ready to make similar decisions, it seemed like she was on board. âWell, what are we waiting for! Thereâs this special drink around here, and youâll get drunk in no time flat. Trust me.âÂ

Elwynn hung up and went to the event and waited for juliette after getting a drink and saying a few hellos. He sighed and sat own at a table as he kept an eye on everyone, not trusting anyone else.
It hadnât been long into the celebration when Juliette arrived, trying to maintain herself cordially, but once her eyes spotted Elwynn across the room, a smile appeared. It had been a while since she had seen him, so to try and sneak up behind him left her chuckling as she approached. âYou still got a dance left in you?â She asked back, holding a hand out.

âThe grass is only greener if you actually reach the other side. We might have to live with them, but it doesnât mean we shouldnât keep striving for perfection, right?â The same thinking she tried to get away with since perfection couldnât be reached without some sort of consequence. A smile came across her face, âItâs the small things that count.â Frannie placed her phone in her handbag, fully turning towards the other. âIâm Frannie.â
âPerfection, right.â She said, the word repeating in her head as though it was some obtainable reality, something that she needed to strive for, despite not eve sure what her idea of the word meant. âIâm Juliette, and youâre going to have to text that pic to me. It was too cute.â She stated with an easier smile, before adding, âAnd...do you want to go get a shot with me or something. Itâs the least I can do. Youâve kind of turned my whole night around.â

âAuto-pilot can always be turned off. Maybe we just need to find something out of the ordinary for you to do that doesnât feelâŠroutine?â He suggested, only wanting to make whatever was bothering her a little bit better. Anthony nodded, âOkay, I can give you your space. As long as if you promise me to have a bit of fun. Later we can meet up again if youâre up for it.â He stood up, giving her a peck on the cheek before walking away to get himself another drink.
One turned into three, leaving him properly drunk and ready to spend the rest of the night at home. He stumbled around trying to find Jules, spotting her and throwing an arm around her shoulders as he reached her. âI know I said if you were up for it butâŠdo you wanna get out of here? I think Iâve drank all the drinks I can.â
Maybe thatâs exactly what she needed. Something so out of the ordinary to help her snap back into a real person. Thatâs what worked for Ben and Russell when they didnât have their humanities on, and she felt pretty useless lately with her emotions, so it was as good a plan as any. She nodded back to him, letting herself get her breather she needed, and finding a new friend while she was at it, easily falling into a blackout bender, doing shots of tequila before she even began to wonder where Anthony was. At the sudden lunge of an arm around her frame, she looked to him and chuckled for what seemed like a solid minute before finally seizing up and letting herself practically lean into him. âI wanna go home.â She drunkenly murmured out in a soft voice. âI wanna go home with you and I wanna wake up with you.â

The phone was in front of her again, posting the picture on her Instagram without any hesitation. Frannie held her tongue, wanting to comment on the fact this is far from what she wanted to do on most days. This body practically forced on her repeatedly unless she wanted to go back to the confining walls of another rehab. âI appreciate that,â she stated a little solemnly, the phone vibrating in her hand causing her to push back the thoughts sheâd done so well with hiding. A grin came upon her face as she looked at it, âWell, Jules, looks like you have a fan club already. If you needed anymore reassurance.â
âWe just have to...live with our bodies, right? And the grass is always greener on the other side.â She teased, though fully aware that she felt self-conscious in her own skin these days. At Frannieâs next words however, Juliette expressed a slightly impressed look before fully smiling. âThat is reassuring.â Maybe what she was doing wasnât all that bay anyways. At least, not in her mind. Plus, if people liked it, how could she not continue. âIt feels good.â
