The “I Hate TomSka” Masterpost
(tl;dr I’ll be addressing common allegations and criticisms after the fold)
Hey. This is a very strange post to make, even for me, but I honestly feel like I have to make it for my own mental wellbeing. It’s no secret that I regularly check my indirects (posts that mention me but don’t actively tag me) across multiple platforms. Hell, I have them bookmarked - Twitter / Tumblr / Reddit / Instagram / 4chan. I sometimes find fan art, “drama” that’s brewing, posts meant for me but tagging the wrong user (e.g. @tomska), funny shit, mean shit, and a lot of news about the Russian city of Tomsk. It’s also really bad for me.
I won’t bullshit you. When I’m checking my indirects or punching my name into a search engine I’m actively looking for negativity. I don’t like myself nearly as much as some people think I do and for some dumb-ass reason I go searching for the meanest shit I can find to seemingly validate my fluctuating self-hatred. Like my eating habits, it’s unhealthy, and I need to stop.
However, I don’t think I can stop until I have a chance to respond to some of the most common criticisms, allegations, and hate mail I’ve seen/received over the past few years. I’m not here to apologise or beg for anyone’s approval - I just need to clear the air for my own peace of mind. I want to the opportunity to clarify what’s true, what’s false, what’s misconstrued, and what’s simply outdated. I know this won’t make me any less of a “lolcow” or change anyone’s minds but maybe I’ll sleep a little easier knowing I’ve had the chance to defend and explain myself.
Finally, it’s worth noting that almost everything I’m about to discuss has already been addressed across multiple different videos, tweets, and blog posts; I’m partly putting this post together so that it’s all in one easily accessible place.

story time: i’ve had a stalker since 2011
His name is Kevin Leader. Our friend circles vaguely overlapped at my first college. I never formally met him, so he saw me before I ever saw him. I got a brief, seemingly harmless message on Facebook from him on September 20, 2011. I responded nicely, because that’s what I do. Clearly, I’m too nice for my own good sometimes, because he has not left me alone since. Here’s the first message:

The FCC sided with Comcast and decided to let ISPs censor the internet. The Internet needs to stop this from happening: http://cms.fightforthefuture.org/tellfcc/
Tumblr media
Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced a proposal for new rules that would allow for a “ fast lane” of Internet traffic for content providers who are willing (and able) to pay a fee. [1] The proposal reverses the FCC’s previous commitment to net neutrality and open internet and allows ISP’s like Comcast or Verizon to slow down and censor services that don’t pay the toll.
We have to be totally honest, this situation is seriously grim. But there is still hope. The FCC already knows that the Internet community wants net neutrality, but they think they can put their spin on these new rules and sneak them through. If we can prove them wrong right now with a massive public outcry, we can literally save the Internet once again.
We need to stop the FCC now. Big business groups are already ramping up lobbying efforts with the FCC in swarms since Wednesday’s announcement in support of censoring the open Internet and to ensure this dangerous proposal moves forward. [2]
This is a critical moment. In the last few weeks more than 65,000 people have taken action with us. Can you help us get to 80,000 by the end of the day today?

You would not believe your flies if ten million fire eyes lit up the world as I feel asleels.
Cuz they’d fill they fill the open eyes and leave sockhops everywhere you’d think me rude but I would just stand and
dance.
I’d like to make myself a fly. Planet eeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarth Sloooooooooowlyyyylle.
It’s hard to say that I’d rather Seal the deal when I’m a 𝕤𝕟𝕒𝕚𝕝. Cuz everything is never as it meeeeeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmmees.
Cuz I get a thousand bugs from ten thousand lightning hugs as they try to teach me how to fuck.
a fox trot above my hugs a sockhop beneath my 𝖇𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖘 the disco bug is just hanging by a thread

We are appalled by President Trump’s tweets about banning transgender people from military service. There are an estimated 15,000 transgender people already working in the Department of Defense, putting their lives on the line to protect our nation and its values. Those values do not include the heartlessness exhibited by Mr. Trump this morning. Discrimination has no place in our government, in our workplaces, our schools, or anywhere else in our lives.
While it’s still unclear what the actual policy ramifications of these tweets will be, we recommend keeping up with (and, if you can, donating to) the ACLU and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund.
You can also directly tell the president how unacceptable his attack on American servicepersons is by using this form provided by the @transgenderfreedomproject.
We know there will be plenty of conversation about this on Tumblr in the coming days, and we urge you to take this moment to support and educate each other in whatever ways you can. And if you just need someone to talk to right now, there are people here to listen, 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

FREE ART PROGRAMS
So recently I came across a fellow artist who was struggling to find a free art program, and considering dropping the large amount of money for a Photoshop license. I know not everyone can afford such an expensive program, so I’ve compiled a list of programs with no cost to download and use.
Keep in mind all computers are different, so not all will work for everyone. Also, I’ve only ever used Windows, so for the most part, I’m not sure if everything will work for Mac. if in doubt check the website linked.
Photoshop CS2 - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
FireAlpaca - (Windows and Mac)
Sketchbook Copic Edition - (Windows and Mac)
GIMP - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI [cracked]  - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI 2 beta - (tumblr post on said program)
iPaint - (Mac)
Paintbrush - (Mac)
Pencil - (Windows, Mac)
Paint.NET - (Windows)
Seashore [still in development, ver 0.5] - (Mac)
ChocoFlop - (Mac)
Inkscape - (Mac and Windows)
ArtRage [Demo] - (Mac and Windows)
OpenCanvas 1.1[must pay for 2.0] - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
MyPaint - (Windows)
Krita - (Windows)
Vectorian [Supports Animation] - (Windows)
Pixia[Japanese, some English versions] - (Windows)
Asperite - (Windows)
Chasys Draw IES - (Windows)
SmoothDraw - (Windows)
TwistedBrush Open Studio - (Windows)
BOUNS - CTRL+Paint [Great for teaching all kinds of stuff, like how to use digital programs.]
If you know more free programs, please add onto this!
