summary:

For someone like Aristos Achaion, one might think he would have servants to do what Patroclus was doing. But after sleeping all day while Achilles was out, purely so he would be awake for his return, Patroclus was happy to do this.

Happy might be a bit of a stretch. Still, he was not about to give this task to a servant, someone whose time with Achilles is much more meaningless. 

Every second left with Achilles felt precious.

It was too late to turn away and sneak down the alley and re-route. He’d been seen. “Hey, Henry, right?” Alex Claremont-Diaz asked with a cloud of wispy smoke billowing into the night air. Henry looked behind himself over his shoulder, as if there were anyone else the man could have been talking to. “That is your name, isn’t it?” “Yeah. Hi,” Henry said quietly. “Hi,” Alex’s smile was genuine, like he was glad to see Henry. Not like the one he’d just been approached with at the bar that was full of mirth and condescension. “Hi,” Henry said again, mentally kicking himself because he had literally just said that. “How are you?” Alex asked. “Good,” Henry answered automatically. Alex tilted his head in amusement like he knew there was more to be said. “Actually…” Henry figured what could it hurt to vent a little bit, right? “Feeling pretty shit tonight, thanks for asking,” he chuckled humorlessly. Alex simply nodded and said, “Oh, okay.” Henry stood a few feet away from him, awkwardly kicking his feet against the pavement. “It’s just,” Henry finally relented, “I keep running into this ex… well I don’t even know if he’s my ex technically. We never made it anything official but like, I considered him my boyfriend. Anyway, he’s not anymore. Hasn’t been for months, for the record. And every time I have myself convinced that I’m over it, I find myself running into him again and it’s like the universe is laughing in my face, you know?” He took a deep, steadying breath after he finished, realizing that he had just trauma dumped all over the essential stranger. The older man took another drag of his cigarette, not taking his turn to speak in case Henry needed to continue lamenting. “Can I have a cigarette?” Henry asked, unsure where he found the audacity.

The boy- Alex- started singing, and Henry… well, Henry was spellbound. It wasn't even the words he was singing or the way he was singing it- that, if you asked Henry's opinion, left something to be desired. ‘Ah, ah, ah. I didn't say you could move…’ Henry might be home alone but he pauses the video and looks around anyways. He is grabbing some earphones from the coffee table drawer without another thought, as if the breathy tone might tinge the walls. Once the earphones are in, he presses play on the video. He quickly recognises the voice as Andrew Scott, the voiceover continues and the girl on screen has her mouth wide open and is fanning her face with her hand. Henry feels tingles over his skin as the video repeats.

Henry encounters the Quinn app while Alex is on vacation with some law school friends. Both Henry and Alex make some discoveries about pleasure.
