If I ever loved you I'll always love you, that's how I was raised

I think this Drake song goes deep, and as I enter into my late 20s it seems to get richer with age like fine wine. In this post I don’t have one girl in mine but several individuals that I’ve gotten close to over the years. I also recognize that some of the disconnect is to be shared with me. In total, I’m talking about 3 relationships and they all ended on what I would consider “good terms.” The terms that usually emcompass the agreement of just being friends and that maybe one day it will work but it’s just not working at the moment.

So my complaint with my “let’s just be friends” is that I feel they should reach out at certain monumental times. Example, I if we’ve spent months talking about and sharing goals to the point we both know each other’s goals and plans in life, id like to see you reach out if I achieve one. Like vise versa, if I see a person that I used to talk to achieve something I know was important to them, imma reach out. The same for negative things as well, If I see them going through something tragic, I’m going to reach out. Because to me, I want to see that person do good and I certainly don’t want to see them hurting. I mean, I think part of what attracts you to someone is that you love their drive and goals. I also get that maybe people feel some type away about the rel. not lasting or maybe someone moving on but it doesn’t have to nor should it be like that.

And that’s why the “If I ever loved you I'll always love you, that's how I was raised” Drake lyric stands out to me so much. Even if what we had never reached true deep love where we shared vows and expressed it with each other. I still feel we hit some level of it and I know personally I have love for any person I shared deep information with. So for me it’s not about keeping up all the time or even checking in time to time, it’s just like hello I know you see me. And congrats on achieving a goal of yours.

Anyways that was just a rant of mine in which I felt I would have always kept in some level of good favor with people. In hindsight maybe there is more I could have done to keep things tighter but maybe that’s just life.
