I’m grateful my love and affection cannot be bought or bartered. It is better to be poor and have peace than to compromise and live in wealth or ease. It seems like ease, but it is not: it comes at a price.

I mean this. Never do or be what others want you to be or do at the expense of what is right and true and honoring God and honoring the vessel He has put you in. You’ve been bought at a price/you don’t belong to yourself any longer. You belong to Him and therefore won’t be fulfilled if not obeying Him. His Word is for your good (purity until marriage, sharing yourself with only your spouse). It’s not opinion, it’s biblical (II Corinthians 6).
