This is basically the ship dynamic in "Post War"

Severus: suffered domestic abuse and neglect as a child, went through severe harassment and bullying in school, was radicalized by schoolmates into joining a the fantasy equivalent of a fascist group, unintentionally aided in the murder of the woman he loved, gave up his life to atone for his mistakes and became a spy, going through great risk and further trauma.

Acts entirely as one would expect a severely traumatised man would, but possibly even more feral.

Evelyn: witnessed her brother's gruesome death from an accidental fire at age 9, was able to see magic and magical creatures which led to her parents taking her to a psychologist which convinced her she had mental issues and thus had to repress memories and experiences and treat them as not-real leading to a lifelong fear of going insane, went through an emotionally abusive relationship with a college professor, got cheated on by a different boyfriend, lost her grandfather and father in quick succession leaving her as the "head of the family".

Acts like a fucking ball of sunshine and rainbow all the time, because God forbid she cracks even a little.

Honestly, if you ever see a manga character and think "Damn, their style is dope as fuck" 9 times out of 10 their fit comes directly out of a fashion magazine. Sailor Moon was wearing Dior. JoJo was wearing Missoni.

Not to downplay the skill of the artists adapting those styles to their characters, but that is why the drip is so clean.

"The keys to the castle" ("Post War" chapter 71, excerpt)

[excerpt from the last published chapter, contains spoilers]

"Today. It was going to be today.

Draco didn't even bother to close the door behind him when he was allowed to return to his room. Claire was gone. After she told him the entire plan, she left.

They were doing it today. In fact, she said, right now. As Draco sat in his room, his cage, this gilded prison he couldn't leave, Claire, Ludwig and the mercenaries they hired were in the process of taking Evelyn, and Salazar's grimoire with her.

They had informants in the Ministry, more than one, actually. A net of them. Nobody Draco knew by name, but they were all people who were hired before Voldemort had taken the Ministry. There had been sympathizers already infiltrated, people who had never been formally a part of Voldemort's cycle, people who had never publicly shown his “cause” any sympathy, but who, nevertheless, agreed with him. Silent supporters, jusy going about their mundane, normal lives pretending they weren't blood supremacists. These people kept their silence while they rose through the ranks of civil administration, completely undetected.

Then Voldemort returned, and they helped him take over, all the while pretending they'd had no choice in the matter. So, when it was all said and done, they remained. No charges filed, nothing. They'd been forced to cooperate. They had feared for their families, for their lives, Men, women, Slytherins, Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, even Hufflepuffs.

Draco almost wanted to laugh. All that talk about Slytherins...and they had no idea.

They had been so stupid, so childish. They really thought it was some type of fairy tale war, with only two sides, and once one of them was defeated, it would be over.

That's not how life works, is it?

And those informants, that handful of unassuming civil servants whose only job was to stamp, sign and file papers, had given the Rotts the keys to the castle."
