Welcome to my IGB400 blog.
Hello there. Prepare yourself for a spooky time in my blog.
As you will read below, you will see the original plan from the mentors and how that plan has evolved. From highs of creating a great team to the lows of not getting ethical approval. This blog will showcase the hard work of the team and myself.
The groups current goal is to create a game artefact to see the difference of emotions from VR to traditonal display. This is our progress for the first 9 weeks. I believe that from our setbacks and difficulties the group will accomplish this goal.

Learning to implement sounds in unity 20/9
As one of my jobs is to learn how to implement sounds into unity i thought it would be good practice to launch up unity and have a play of its sound controls. I implemented a .wav file and played around with the audio source.
I mainly played around with priority which layers the sounds based on how important they are.

The map below was constructed by 2 group members and myself. This is a rough vision on what events will take place in the game and at what points these events happen.

Differences in Physiological Responses to Exposure of Disturbing Auditory Versus Audiovisual Stimuli
Fear plays a significant role in the lives of many people, from crippling fear that prevents people from performing everyday activities, to that which is intentionally experienced from video game or horror movies. The physiological responses to fear-inducing stimuli may vary between individuals, but some common reactions include increased heart rate, respiration rate and muscle tension, collectively referred to in this study as the “fear response”

Putting Fear In Your Ears: What Makes Music Sound Scary
Blumstein's study of human sound perception began in an unlikely place: a community of yellow-bellied marmots in Colorado. "The thing that struck me was that every once in a while when we catch a baby marmot, they scream," Blumstein said.
Screams, like those of the baby marmot, are created when animals hurriedly blow air past their vocal cords, releasing an irregular scratchy noise called nonlinear sound.

The game starts off in a sewer... you don’t know where you are. You wake up with only your phone and limited reception. The way above you is closed off. The only way to get out is the darkness of the sewer in front of you. While you are walking through the sewer you hear sounds from the darkness you left behind you. A rising tempo of splashing water comes from behind you... you know you aren’t alone down here. Could it be a rat, your imagination or could it be something much, much worse. You continue forward and you are startled by the notification received on your phone. It’s your friend asking where you are, but just as you message back the tempo becomes a symphony of cascading splashes. You move even faster through the sewer looking for a exit.... the rest of the story is up to you.
