Can some current/future teachers tell me if teaching is worth it?
okay I might just be sleep deprived from having covid, but I'm a junior in college majoring in early childhood education. I've dreamed about being a kinder or first grade teacher since I was 6 years old, but everyone I tell that to tell me I won't make enough money, I'll hate it, etc. I know there's a teacher shortage and tons of teachers are quitting the profession left and right, and if I'm being honest, it worries me a lot. Could a student teacher/ teacher/ literally anyone in the education field please tell me if I'm doing the right thing? I just feel so hopeless.
