Bewear Facts

-The scientific name for Beware is "Ursus Fortis" which roughly translates to "Strong bear"

-Bewear is in the Ursidae family, with their closest relatives being Beartic

-Bewear are most commonly found in Alola, where they live in deep forests. They make their homes in large hollowed trees or caves

-Bewear is the mascot for Build-a-bewear. Many parents criticize this because they say it makes their kids assume Bewear is sweet and cuddly instead of violent and dangerous

-As a warning, Bewear will wave their arms to to scare off the potential threat. Many people assume that this is a sign of friendliness, and this is how many people are killed by Bewear

-Despite their violence, Bewear in Alola don't actively hunt. They instead eat berries they collect around the forest, but food competition does exist, and they will eat dead bodies they find, and they'll even kill and eat already dying or defensless pokemon. They often get into heated fights with Vespiquen and Ribombee to steal their honey and pollen puffs. The ones in Galar will actively hunt other pokemon due to lack of large wild berries

-Trained Bewear need to be trained on how to show affection without hurting anybody. To show affection, Bewear hug each other, and this extends to their trainers as well, but their strength can snap bones. There have been instances where Bewear have accidently killed their trainers due to snapping their backs when hugging

-Bewear are solitary pokemon that don't like others in their territory. However, they will tolerate other Bewear if they don't see them as a threat

-Unlike Urasring, Bewear don't hibernate in the winter. They will become slower and sluggish, however, as well as storing a lot of fat

-Because of their height and strength, they need a lot of energy and can eat 20,000 calories a day!

-Bewear engage in self meditation, having knowledge of what berries to eat when under a status condition or knowing what herbs to use when they are sick

-Bewear are well known for holding grudges. Please don't anger these things

-While active breeding of Bewear isn't very common due to their dangers, there are some variants of them resembling different plush toys, which are mostly bred for interesting and cure Stufful. Some of the most common pokemon they're bred with are Musharna, Teddiursa, Ampharos, Delcatty, and Greedent. The safest pokemon to breed Bewear with are Ursaring and Pangoro since they have similar biology and similar strength, so there's less risk of them being harmed when mating

-Bewear are very curious pokemon, and not all bewear aim to attack you. It's important to know behaviours as to not escalate the situation. Here's a post going over how to survive a bewear attack
