Hello! My name is Jordan and I am an International Relations and Spanish student spending a semester abroad in Geneva, Switzerland. I am hoping to use this as a place for friends and family to keep up with some of my favorite photos and experiences.

Spent my last day back in my city and finally got to go wakeboarding since the weather has been amazing. I was so emotional the whole day about leaving and looking back at these photos makes me miss this city so so so much.

Returned to Switzerland after an amazing and exhausting two weeks to go hiking in a town that I had wanted to go to since the beginning, Lauterbrunnen. Getting back to Switzerland really felt so familiar and homely. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the exact hike I wanted to because of snow and avalanche warnings, but I still was so happy that I got to be in the mountains and hike a little bit.

To go to the Vatican, you have to have to get tickets beforehand to be allowed in, which I didn’t realize, but luckily there was still times available. I was wearing a tank top so I had to buy a scarf to cover my shoulders in order to be allowed in the Sistine Chapel. The art and history that cover every inch of the Vatican is all so detailed. I think you could spend weeks in there and not see everything.

Next was on to Rome to spend some time with one of my best friends, Julia. Rome definitely did not disappoint but it was definitely a lot bigger than Florence and Verona. Seeing all the landmarks and art in person is so striking and doesn’t really feel real. Lizzie McGuire had me excited to come to Rome for the last 15 years ;)

Our trip to the Bardini Gardens in Florence...so many beautiful views and colorful flowers. There was also a museum here with art by Isadora Duncan, which was an added bonus!

Ah...Florence you were something else. The Duomo in Florence may have been the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. This city absolutely blew me away and I loved everything about it...the food, the wine, the people, the art and architecture...I could go on and on. I also got to spend time with one of the most incredible people I know, Talia, and one of my cousins who were both studying there.

The last stop on our Easter Extravaganza was to Munich. On the first day we were there, we went to Dachau Concentration Camp, a week before its 74th anniversary of liberation. The memorial and museum were really well done and I would highly recommend going to visit it as it is only 25 minutes by train outside of Munich. I also got to try a lot of the traditional food, we even found a place that made vegan Schnitzel! Unfortunately, a lot of museums were closed due to Easter, but we enjoyed walking around the city and exploring the main areas, such as the cathedral and town hall.

The next stop on our Easter trip was Stuttgart, Germany. We really liked the city and it was also the first day of Springfest while we were there. The energy in the beer halls was so much fun and we met a lot of cool German friends. We had been looking around for dirndl (dresses) to wear all day but the only ones we could find were really fancy and like 500 Euro...soooo we looked a little American amongst all the Leiderhosen and Dirndl.

Had such an incredible time exploring Strasbourg, France. The trip got off to a rocky start when my phone spazzed out and I couldn’t access my ticket and airbnb information, but luckily I met a really nice man on the train who let me use his phone to get myself situated and then he used it to find a way to fix my phone! Strasbourg was absolutely beautiful and walking around the Petit France neighborhood felt straight out of Beauty and the Beast.

Bruges is a city about an hour train ride away from Brussels and was named the cutest city in Belgium. It has a really medieval feeling and is a lot smaller than other major cities. The population of Bruges was actually larger in the 12th century than it is now, as in those days it was a really important trading port in Europe. It was really picturesque and I would highly recommend paying Bruges a visit, especially since it is really easy to access from Brussels and Antwerp is also close by train.

Many people I talked to who had previously visited Brussels had mixed feeling, but I had always wanted to go and ended up absolutely loving it! There is a lot there related to International Relations to see and the the city, especially the older parts, are absolutely breathtaking. This was also my first time doing a completely solo trip, which was definitely a different experience, but I am glad that I did it.
