"I'm not gonna lie, I think this is the only time I wish I bought my own house with a pool." Kangmin said, chuckling lightly as he eyed the much younger people playing a little rough in the pool, despite the lifeguard's warning. He didn't care for the beach unless it was to hang out and today was too hot to not be in the water. Had he really reach that age that he found teenagers annoying?

Kang let out a soft laugh. “Two years? I guess I missed the welcome committee by a mile.” He fell into step behind her. “I’m actually from Brooklyn, but we moved out here ages ago.” He glanced around, as if recalling something distant. “That makes two of us, though—I’ve been in these apartments for over two years, easy. I don’t remember exactly how long, but it was before my son was born. So yeah, definitely more than two.” He chuckled.

"Okay, true. But still, more likely to happen to me." She teased softly, accepting the fact that she was forever going to be a bit of a klutz. "Oh um, I've been living here for about two years now? Prior to that I went to university in New York but I grew up here actually." She explained as they headed into the building and up to her floor. "How about you?" Emerson wondered with a soft smile. "I'm very much a homebody though, so it's definitely not a slight against you that we've never crossed paths if you've lived here forever."

Kangmin laughed, ready to shove the other's arm out the way when he moved. He spent probably more time than he should leaving his teacher funny (to him) little graphics when he was in high school. It didn't take long for them to figure out it was him, but that didn't stop him from sneaking into the empty classrooms afterschool.

He put the chalk down and looked at the finished worth. A 'fuck school' and detailed middle finger.

"Hopefully some weed. Aren't all the kids smoking these days?" he said, following Drew out the door and towards the lockers. "Mine was at the end of the other hall, by the bathrooms."

"Yeah, yeah, bet you'd like to know, wouldn't you, asshole?"

Drew's brows waggled playfully, arm reaching out to gently jostle Kangmin in an attempt to mess up his signature. He's quick to take a step back and out of the other man's reach, both out of fear of retaliation but also to be able to admire his work in it's full glory.

The difference in artistic skill was glaring, but he'd given it his all, and wasn't that really all that mattered?

"Worth a shot." He shrugged, already heading for the door. "We can check mine out too. You think we'll find anything good in there?"

"Should I be offended that you don't think I did this?" Kangmin said, poking her side as they made themselves comfortable in the back of the SUV. It took a lot of convincing, but he got his mom to let him borrow her car. With the assistance of his sister, he dropped the backseats and made it nice and comfortable for them to watch Back to the Future. It was her idea to put all the extra plushies, lights and things he found unnecessary, but apparently it was cute. The snacks and small beer cooler he took full credit for, though. "I mean, I had some help. But I could've easily thought of all this."

"I don't know, man. I gotta ask her if I'm significant, or just an other first." @syrenaxharris

"With a fat ass blunt."

👬 What was their relationship with their family like?

"Some people would say I'm a momma's boy, but I don't agree with that. Is it my fault that my mom likes to make sure I eat right and calls me at least three times a day?" he chuckles lightly. "Some people weren't loved right and it shows. But nah, man. I have a great relationship with my mom and my sister. I wanna say I always have, but I was young once, y'know? But now, we definitely have a great relationship. As for my dad, I ain't even gonna front, I don't recall the last time I spoke with that bozo. Who gives a shit, anyways."

Wonder: what’s something you love about summer?

"Having time to play. My schedule tends to be more light in the summer."

🌻 What is their happiest childhood memory?

"When my sister turned five, we went to Coney Island for her birthday. It was the beginning of summer and the weather was really nice that day. We went on a bunch of rides and dad took us to Nathan's Famous and then for ice cream after. It was my sister's day, but they really went all out for both us...I think that was the last fun thing we did as a family."

"I like them already." Kang chuckled lightly. In truth, he was more concerned about her brothers than her friends. Not that it stopped him. But he wasn't going to let being a dumbass cause him his friendship with Carter. He liked Syrena and keeping it undefine allowed them both the time to figure things out. He followed her onto the car pulled the lap bar to secured them in place. "You look excited." he teased as he intertwined their fingers. "My sister and I used to ride this 'til we'd both be dizzy. But back then we'd sneak our way in." he said, chuckling lightly.

"Aw, they love you. They would never tell me to get a rid of you." Syrena said reassuringly as she looked up at Kangmin. At least, they had never said any thing bad about him in text or to her face. She definitely planned to keep it that way. As the people in front of them started taking their seats on the ride, Syrena was getting more and more excited. "Lucky us!" The girl took his hand and almost skipped with excitement to the last open ride car. She carefully stepped in and took a seat, scooting all the way over to leave room for Kangmin.

Kangmin chuckled lightly before offering the joint out to Lucas. "I mean, I guess." he said, rolling his eyes playfully. "Although a pop of color would suit you nice. How' you been, man?"

Lucas had to refrain from rolling his eyes as he looked at the other. It had been a bit since he'd visited Kangmin so he was making sure to do so while he had a free moment. "Aurora's finest huh? Nope, not here to get tatted plus I don't if our styles would mesh well on my body. Can't a guy just come and say hi?"

"They're not. I came for a friend and ended up with a drink spilt on me." He said with a dry scoff, he shook his head. Served him right for being at the nightclub in the first place. Kangmin knew he should've at least gotten high first. A little weed would've had him at least enjoying himself rather than being hypervigilant in this crowd.

"Are you alright?" he asked, a bit concerned. While he doubted she cared at all about his being there. Her less than pleased face told him everything he needed to know about her feelings towards him. While he did end up cheating on her, he did care for her while they were together. Relationships weren't his forte and in the long run...commitment and vulnerability...they weren't things he felt comfortable with. He also had a tendency of doing dumb shit. But he liked to think he was growing? Maybe. Time would tell.

She felt her mind whirling a bit as she heard the voice. It was familiar. The drinks had taken a little effect on her so she was trying her best. "It won't happen again." She muttered as she let herself look up towards the other. Her eyes widened a bit as she saw Kangmin. Never did she think she'd bump into him again after how their relationship ended. If anything, she always tried to avoid him if she could. She didn't even know what to say and the fuzzy feeling clouding her mind wasn't helping.

The nickname did nothing but cause her to frown some. She wasn't going to yell even if she wanted to at this moment. She had so much she wanted to say to him but now wasn't the time. "Not your fault... I was just trying to get a breather. I mean I do remember nightclubs like this not being your thing." She tried not to let herself sound mean or bitter even if she wanted to.

"Nice to meet you, Sammy." He smiled at the younger boy as their fists bumped, he could definitely see some semblance between him and Mireya. "Come on, you gotta do better than that. There has to be at least a game you're good at. How're you gonna have man here leave without a big stuffed animal?" Kangmin teased, hoping to get a smile out of either one. "How about this? I'll help you out, but I get a snack in return. Fair trade, right?"

Mireya found herself rolling her eyes at his response but she smiled anyways, overall in a good mood after spending the day at the carnival with her little brother. "I do, huh." She agreed, giving the boy's hand a squeeze, encouraging him to reach out and give Kang a little fist bump in return. "This is my brother. Sammy, this is my friend, Kang." She introduced, voice softening as she looked down at him for a moment longer, just glad that, overall, he seemed okay. "And that's because I suck at those games. But I promised him all the snacks and rides in return."

He nodded his head in agreement. It certainly was a good thing for him. It took some of the guessing game out of the equation at times. A smile curled on the corners of his lips at the small gesture from her. "I gotta keep them on my side 'fore they tell you to get rid of me." Kangmin teased. From past dating experience, he knew how easily a friend group can 'turn'. His eyes scanned the ride for the empty slots and a grin appeared on his face. "Looks like we're going to make it." he said, as they stepped forward in the line.

"Hm, think of it as a good thing, I guess." Syrena told him and she stood with him in line. Her hands rested gently on his as her back rested lightly against his torso. While waiting, she went up on her tiptoes and gently pecked the underneath of his jawline. A smile then appeared on her face at that next thing he said. "You know I love having things to brag about in my girls chat." She said with a small laugh as she watched the ride start to fill up with the next riders, hoping there was enough room for them this time. Maybe she'd even brag to Carter as a little extra fun. "You make it too easy."
