- this part takes place a little bit before Twilight became ruler, when other creatures were starting to integrate more in Equestria (i know it doesn’t rlly make sense timeline-wise but just pretend it does. chalk it up to horse years or something lmao)

- instead of giving stands, the arrow is wayyy more unpredictable and tends to amplify any magic that all races/creatures have. eg making someone physically stronger, giving cutie marks that can change, amplifying special talents etc

- because of this Stardust and Chariot have even more incentive to collect and study the arrows, bc who knows what it could do in the wrong hooves

- for example it gave Akira the ability to conduct electricity through his body (and also play guitar better) and it made Clandestine’s magic way stronger

- credit where credit is due, i believe i got the inspiration for Bucks name from @/catboymoments

(3/3) unita speciale and ending hijinks

- i wish i didn’t have to split this part into 3 there’s too many gd freakshows in golden wind (also lots of dragons this part i just realized)

- once again, the arrow is way more unpredictable here than in canon, it’s effects could range from slightly improved physical abilities to creating a weird shadow creature to making someone an alicorn

- Chariot stabbed himself with the arrow before dying, but he was able to possess the magic turtle shell before disappearing, which he just lives in after that. the stabbing allowed his strong determination to keep the arrow away from Devil Darner manifest into a physical form, Requiem

- speaking of Devil the reason he wants the arrow in the first place is cause he sees anyone else having it as a threat, instead of whatever happened in canon

- Requiem was based on the pony of shadows kinda, it’s more of an apparition than anything. Devil (who has also ended up as a kind of phantom similar to ghosty Sombra) gets rid of him in a weird spirit battle kinda thing and reverts all the soul swaps. Devil stays in this form though, which is how Glory is able to throw him out of space-time in the first place

- (the whole phantom thing is supposed to be like when he was just a stand and possessing people and stuff) the diavolo fight and the requiem stuff still confuses me honestly lmfao

let's talk about dragona

ok i feel there might be some controversy with dragona so i wanna get in there right now.

i'll be using he/him pronouns for dragona since that's how his identity has been presented in the first chapter

first of all obviously it's only the first chapter so we have no idea if more about his gender identity will be explored, but considering this chapter seems to have plenty of topics that have been popular/in heavy discussion in recent years (dua lipa, covid, police brutality), it's entirely possible araki goes more into his gender later (i'm not saying police brutality or trans identities are new but obviously have been hot topics of discussion in recent years)

an important thing to remember is that gender presentation doesn't inherently effect gender identity. you can be a cis man who dresses fem (look no further than finnster), a trans person who hasn't physically transitioned, a trans person who has physically transitioned but still presents as their assigned gender from time to time or anything beyond and inbetween

dragona has been presented as a man who enjoys appearing feminine, down to augmenting his breasts. it's not been unheard of for gnc cis men to change their appearance to have a bust, and i'm sure there are even cis men who have had breast implants (or at least desire them)

it is entirely possible he's closeted and should he come out as another gender identity, obviously i'll refer to him as such, and if anyone wants to headcanon him as a trans woman, enby or any other identity and even resents that people use he/him pronouns for him in the meantime, i completely understand. i just thought i'd get my opinion out there as an amab enby who wanted to remind people that, again, gender presentation =/= gender identity. they can go together, but they're not inherently related.

also as a trans person i think so far he's inoffensive as far as gnc characters in anime and manga go but again, if you disagree, i completely understand, this is just my opinion

EDIT: it has come to my attention dragona's gender is still kind of up to interpretation in the original japanese text but my points still stand

it was obvious there would be transphobic reactions towards Dragona, but seeing so many 'JoJo fans' shocked that Araki included non-cis character and is generally an ally made me question some people's reading comprehension, especially considering how often they refer to interviews with him in so many discussions

Not putting this person on blast or anything but I think it's a bit odd that we're still at this like. Every 'something' character has to be a whole entire fictional ambassador trying to soothe over decades of bad representation. There are people in real life who use masculine pronouns have implants like girl clothes and makeup etc. and yeah actually I think the fact that you immediately think of that description of real people just existing as a transphobic caricatured example of trans women is kind of proving my point that maybe this representation should be about... them and not the trans women you're thinking of at all. GNC people of all types should be allowed to have a broad variety of people to relate to in fiction. That includes even trans women who dont adhere to an idea of gender conforming clean faultless rep either but dont necessarily relate to like... intentionally transphobic serial killers in fiction either. There are trans women who are gnc there are gay men who are lumped in with transmisogyny because they are gnc and they still use masculine pronouns there are intersex people who want to have surgeries to be closer to a gender presentation they want, there are always going to be people who like pronouns that might be considered 'opposite' of presentation. There is no trans character that's going to be well received by transphobic people so instead of trying to keep things perfect and cut clean for them I think it's better to give a character to people who aren't going to relate to a sanitized overly cautious binary portrayal. Gender shouldn't be strict irl or in fiction... especially not in a series based around high fashion with.. bizzare in the title. And in conclusion... pronouns aren't necessarily your gender at all.
