CMBYN Valentine's! I love making FREE Valentine's. This year I decided CMBYN was the best choice for my annual Sissydude Valentine’s. Other years have featured MAD MEN, GIRLS, Al Parker, Rhoda, Karen Valentine, Klaus Nomi, various DUDES and other Queer loveliness.
After doing my first CMBYN digital collage illustration - a month of so ago- it dawned on me that it would make a perfect Valentine’s Day card. So I decided to continue making Elio and Oliver collages. My usual vintage flowers and such... but with a little bit of 1980′s retro thrown in for some fun. Enjoy!

Forgot which magazine this was done for. It was a story about children and cellphones in school.

This was my cover illo for OPC magazine. I was nominated for KRW Awards as a finalist in two categories. Best Illustration and Best art Direction of an Opening Spread. Didn’t win tho. The top one was the cover... the other two were colour variations for the client.

Say “HI” to my Mildred Pierce book cover design I did for fun. Never realized that her last name’s first three letters spell “PIE”!? Did you know that? Anyhoo, I love how this turned out. Proud of the fork pokes/ crust pattern.

Here’s a random grouping of pieces I had fun with and think are pretty solid. There’s a single cover, a “KEITH COLE FOR MAYOR” poster, a tribute to the late great FANCY and on the bottom, a rough I did for a client who went another direction. I remember being super disappointed. Still think it’s really good... in that 1970′s granola way.

I love Christmas songs, movies, vintage decorations and food. That’s about it. But I LOVE making weird and wonky Christmas cards to send in an email blast to friends. Here are three of my favourites.
