Introduction
Hip hop is an art that was founded by those who lived in the rough streets, and looked for a way to escape poverty. For some, Hip hop was the only solution that would allow people to prosper and help provide for their loved ones. This form of art was very unique as those who rapped were able to express their feelings and beliefs through music. Artists voiced their opinions through their lyrics and allowed their music to reach audiences they were attempting to target. For many years hip hop has grown as new artists are constantly on the rise, however, it is the artists such as 2pac, Biggie Smalls ,NWA and many other groups who have established hip hop. These groups have laid the foundation for today’s rap artists and will always be remembered for their great contributions to hip hop.

Throughout this class, I have been able to learn not only how Hip Hop was greatly influenced on the west coast and east coast but how Hip Hop came to be. Hip Hop changed the culture for many people living in the streets and was seen as an escape from poverty for some. People used this form of art to express themselves and their feelings behind their reality. Hip Hop has changed many peoples lives and is increasing in popularity each year, due to those from the past who have created the foundation for what Hip Hop is.
