John let out another chuckle. "Scott and Stiles are just a deathly combination when it comes to furniture I am afraid." He replied, before listening to Melissa talk about Stiles. As he listened to her speak, John began to realize just how right Melissa was. There was something going on with Stiles, and at first he's chalked it up as his son just being scared because of the attacks, but now it was clear that there was something more serious going on. "I don't know what is going on with him. I should know, but I don't."
Sometimes I really hate my job.
Melissa laughed. ”No, nothing like that. And I’m sure Scott has broken more than his fair share of things at your house, so I wouldn’t worry about it anyway.” She took a breath and her expression sobered. ”No, I actually wanted to talk to you about something more serious. I know we’ve talked about him a little, he hasn’t been taking his meds, he’s been acting erratically, things like that, but I’m pretty sure that something is seriously wrong.”

"Of course they will, we definitely have our hands full with those two." John replied with a laugh, thinking back to all of the trouble that Scott and Stiles had gotten into over the years. "What has that boy gotten himself into now? If he broke another vase, I swear I will pay for a new one."
Sometimes I really hate my job.
Melissa smiled despite herself. ”Yeah, they’ll certainly protest the loudest. Or, you know, outright ignore it. I can never quite guess with them.” She looked away for a second, and then back up at John. ”Actually, I wanted to talk to you about Stiles.”

John nodded. "I just feel like maybe it's the right thing to do. I mean, if we can't even protect our kids, then I am failing not only at my job but as a parent as well." He let out a sigh. "I think we are still going to have our hands full when it comes to Stiles and Scott though."
Sometimes I really hate my job.
Melissa shook her head. ”No, they’re gonna hate it. And complain wildly about how unfair life is. But if it keeps them alive, they can complain all they want.” She looked down, thinking. ”On the other hand, they might not complain much. They’re getting scared, I can tell.”

John listened to Melissa speak, taking in her every word. It was clear to him that she genuinely wanted to help, and he was thankful for that. "That's actually probably a brilliant idea Melissa. All the the attacks have been at night, because most animals are not out during the days. The teenagers aren't going to like it, but at least it'll keep them safe, right?"
Sometimes I really hate my job.
Melissa nodded sympathetically. She knew how seriously John took his responsibility to the people of Beacon Hills. She knew full well how much recent events must be tearing him up. ”Maybe…” she hesitated, not wanting to somehow make him feel worse. ”Maybe you should enact some kind of emergency curfew or something. To try to keep people from going out at night. All the attacks have been at night, right?” Then she added quickly, “Not that I’m trying to tell you how to do your job. Just hoping to help.”

John smiled weakly at Melissa, and then nodded. "There is something definitely going on, and by this point people are in a major panic." He replied, letting out a sigh. "I don't know what to do."

Melissa looked up at John, concern suddenly seeping into her features. ”Is this about the animal attacks?” she asked as she moved towards him automatically, one hand reaching out to rest comfortingly on his forearm.

Yeah, I think it is probably safe to say that it isn't drugs... Stiles isn't that kind of boy...although of course, that is probably what all the parents say about their children. There is something going on with both of our boys, that is for sure. It's just worrisome, because it seems that the change was so quickly. One day they were the same boys they have always been, and then the next we had this. I don't know either Melissa, I wish I had answers for you, but I don't.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
It makes me wonder if he’s gotten himself into something. I mean, my first thought was drugs, but I don’t seriously think that. I think I’ve just seen too many kids on drugs come through the ER. …I want to ask Scott about him, because if anyone knows what’s going on with him, it’s Scott, but… Scott has been really withdrawn lately. He doesn’t seem to want to talk to me, or really much of anyone, he doesn’t seem excited about lacrosse anymore… I don’t know.

Well, I guess we are okay then, at least as long as they continue to get each other out of all the trouble that they get each other into. I think they are successful most of the time, which is good.
I've been worrying about him lately. It's clear that there is something going on with him, and I can't quite place it. I let him keep the possum because I thought it might help, but really I still have no idea what to do with him.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
Honestly, it’s both. A comfort and a worry. Because I trust them to get each other into all kinds of trouble, but I think maybe I trust them to get each other out of it too. Well, try to get out at least. Who knows how successful they’ll be.
Yeah… I don’t understand what’s gotten into him either. He had been being so good about taking his meds. At least, I thought he was. I don’t know, lately he’s been a little weird. Well, weirder than normal. I mean, he adopted a possum, for crying out loud.

I don't know if them being together all the time should comfort me, or worry me. The two of them seem to get into an awful lot of trouble. I told him to take them, and he appears to be taking them...but I can't be certain. I don't understand why he is suddenly being so difficult about this...
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
I’ll keep an eye on him. He and Scott spend most of their waking minutes together anyway, so it’s not hard. Do you know if he’s been taking his ADD meds lately? I know I talked to him a little while ago, and he wasn’t.

I really hope so, and I hope that it is sooner rather than later. Well, since I am pretty much drowning in work right now, just try to keep an eye on Stiles. I need the extra help making sure that boy doesn't get into any trouble, especially lately.... you know how he gets.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
I’m sure you’ll figure it out. You always do. But.. tell me if you need anything, okay? I mean, obviously I can’t really help with the case, but I know it’s making you busier than you’d like. So if you need anything, or Stiles needs anything, tell me.

It is very strange indeed. I wish I knew, I really do. Just continue to do your job, and don't worry too much about anything else. I am sure it will all get sorted out soon enough.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
That’s… really strange. And pretty disconcerting. I mean, why Beacon Hills? I don’t pretend to have any kind of expertise on the matter, but that just doesn’t seem to make sense. I wish I could help, John.

I've actually been talking to some neighboring towns, and that's the concerning thing. It seems that we are the only people who have had a major spike in animal attacks lately. My team and I have been trying to come up with reasons as to why this might be, but so far we are just drawing blanks.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
I know. It’s concerning me too. Do you know if any of the towns nearby are having similar problems? I mean, I’m assuming that this can’t be all one animal. Can it? If the wildlife is becoming more violent, shouldn’t the other towns in the area have the same issues?

I am really starting to wonder about them. We went from having nearly no animal attacks, to having animal attacks at an alarming rate. Beacon Hills used to be so quiet... something weird is going on in this small little town of our's.
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
Yeah. I can tell people are getting spooked, actually. I mean, some of the hospital staff are at least. Every time we get another animal attack victim, everybody ends up kind of bewildered at their wounds. They’re always strange. Bigger than they should be, or oddly shaped, things like that. …Well, that’s when they live long enough to get to us, I guess.

There has been an odd amount of animal attacks lately, and people are beginning to get really spooked about it. I guess they have been making both of our jobs harder,
For a small town, people sure get in a lot of trouble.
Huh. I wonder why. You know, now that I think about it, the ER has been busier than normal lately too. Although part of that is all those animal attacks. Nasty stuff.

The station has just been oddly busy lately. Everything is fine, don't worry about it.

Oh no. That doesn’t sound good. What happened?

John nodded in agreement. "This is what I was thinking. Whatever helps, right? I agree, there is definitely something going on with our sons, and I plan to get to the bottom of it." He said, knowing that Melissa must be equally as worried as he was. "It's like they know something we don't. The whole situation has me feeling very uneasy."
McClinski.
Melissa shrugged. “Well, if it’s getting him out of his funk, maybe it’s a good thing. And maybe Stiles being a little more himself will help Scott too. He’s just been so quiet lately. The both of them have. It’s starting to weird me out.” She got quiet for a moment, and then looked up at John. “He looks sad when he thinks I’m not looking.”
