My First Book Signing a Success!
I'm John Patrick Seekamp, and I approve of this message!
Hi all, my first book signing was a success! It took place from 12N to 3pm on Sunday, January 21st, 2024 at J’s PLACE, 39 W Main St., Middletown, NY 10940. The owner, Jay Mesnica, has created a most wonderful restaurant offering delicious food and drink. The book signing filled the place, leaving both Jay and I thrilled! I signed 25 books in all and a good time was had by all! I want to thank…

MY DEBUT NOVEL
Prepare to really be entertained!
Hi all, I’ve written an historical fiction novel and it debuts later this summer. It’s set in northern British India in 1901, in the foothills of the Himalayas. It’s still in the hands of my editing service so I want to wait until it’s published to reveal the title and premise, as not to step on their toes. The editorial letter I received regarding my manuscript, which I wrapped up this spring…

AS THE WHISTLING TRAIN CAME IN
AS THE WHISTLING TRAIN CAME IN
The train that left the station headed into the setting sun, On tracks that gleamed and glistened sagging gently ‘neath wheels run, Past mountains ‘bove the prairie‘low stars just flickered and bright, As Paiutes chanted and danced and mournedby the sounds of a train in the night, Soon a wolf in the distance howledand coyotes joined their kin, And all Paiutes in chorus lent a deep wailas the…

OF COLORS ALONG THE WAY
‘Neath the blue of the sky and the gray of the clouds,
In the yellow of the bright setting sun,
Walked gently in the green of the lush Spring grass,
Walked and read the telltale of day’s done.

OLD FARMER CHARLIE'S FATE
OLD FARMER CHARLIE’S FATE
Charley was the brother of my cousin’s only aunt,
He farmed across the river
On the land that he did plant,
One Spring he set to pray for rain
When March winds came and swirled,
But raindrops never fell,
Plowed fields went to hell,
Empty was the well…..then Charley left this world.
Charley was the father of my cousin’s cousin Ben,
And even though they were close
They’d argue here and then,
Now…

SUN, CAMPFIRE and TREE FROGS
Sun gives way to night,
Campfire sizzles and crackles,
Tree frogs call in dark.
