Why am I even in this match? See, I'm not arguing that they're not that good. Evidence clearly suggests they are. What I'm arguing is that if there was any working matchmaking I would never be in a match with these top tier players. I'm a middle of the road player at best. I have no problem with that because I'm not a professional crucible player. A real matchmaking feature would differentiate between someone of my caliber, and someone of theirs. So... Man I don't even know where to begin... Like, genuinely I don't. Every time I'm ready to tackle this, I realize I'm not. I hope that you like the raid in destiny 2. Because you won't be getting a new one with either of the two upcoming dlc's. You read that right. You'll get a couple of new missions in the existing raid, to be randomly alternated with the existing ones. How does that 2nd destiny taste now? I'm so glad I didn't pay for this bullshit.

Malicious monetization... A short story by Activision and Bungie...

I was literally going to start this with a rant that went something like: "These motherfuckers right here..." I've opted instead to intelligently express the same sentiment using my brain instead of my anger. Activision has already started to get a reputation as a terrible game developer. Equal to or worse than EA, depending on who you ask and what day of the week it is. I already didn't like them for their business practices and their decisions to try to milk every dime out of their customers, all the while deceiving their customers and basically telling them that they would never engage in those practices, ever. It doesn't read that way? I'll explain. A few years ago some friends convinced me to purchase a game called Destiny. I say convinced, because in this case I'd literally never heard of it before they said anything. I had no intention to buy it whatsoever. They convinced me it was worth my time and my money and we were all going to play together, so I played the beta, and believing it was going to be much bigger than what I had already seen, I bought the game. We had some fun, for a while. It didn't take long for us to notice something. I got EVERYTHING. If there was a drop in the game, it dropped for me. So much so that it became a habit for my friends to see me get another extremely rare drop and simply reply, "fuck you, man." You see, in Destiny, others can see a scroll on the screen that displays when someone gets one of those rare drops. I always wondered why before. I don't anymore. Because that was the experiment. What they were trying to do was make my friends want to be like me. They wanted them to want those same drops. Nevermind that they played as much as I did, or in some cases payed WAY more for the game because they bought the collector's edition. When I say I got everything, what I mean is that by the end of the first week, I had a Gjallarhorn. That rocket launcher was so rare that a lot of people never got one. At all. I lost count of how many of them I deleted. Now, if you don't know Destiny, right about here is where you ask, "but why didn't you just trade the extras to your friends?" an excellent question. You see that was also part of the experiment, the fact that trading was never allowed in Destiny, in spite of Bungie's initial insistence (that later just disappeared) that it would be implemented later. It never was in the first game and it's now not a part of the second game. So, how did this create hate? Well, when you're the only player on your team that's getting every single epic drop there is, it builds resentment pretty damn fast. I had one friend quit playing Destiny altogether and another that wouldn't play on the console I was on because they only got somewhat better drops on a different console. I literally had friends quit playing because of this mechanic. But hey, what we found out with the DESTINY 2 release, is that you don't have to worry about that... Because with micro transactions, you can get some of the very best weapons in the game, if not all of them. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Now, what makes this worse, what makes it a betrayal, is how we were all deceived, by Bungie, and Activision. They straight out lied when we asked about this when the game started. We were told several lies, but the one that was most repeated in the early days, was that it was a problem with their RNG (random number generator) and that they were working to fix it. That was bullshit. There was no glitch, there was no error, in the proper parlance, it was working as intended. The truly sinister part, is that they lied again and again, knowing full well that they were subjecting their paying customers to this; their players. And they didn't give a damn, because I guarantee you they never expected us to find out. I will not, in any future purchases, support Activision, and I'm adding Bungie to that list as well. I can't make anyone choose to do the same, but I would invite anyone that feels betrayed by them, too join me in doing so. Game on.

WB... What the fuck are you doing?

For anyone that doesn't know, there was a recent patch to injustice 2 that basically caused a shitload of people to lose a lot of their gear. Their best gear. A friend of mine had just recently picked up the game and started playing. He'd leveled Robin to level 10, and gotten some gear he liked. It was all gone. I was luckier because even though I had downloaded the patch, after I heard what happened to him, I didn't start my game up. Another patch came out today, and supposedly fixed the problem, and for a lot of people it reportedly did. For my friend, it did not. Here's the problem: this is a AAA title, from a major studio. How the fuck does this even happen? And what are you going to do about it for the people that still don't have their gear back? This is a clusterfuck and you aren't even carrying lube. #injustice2 #fuckup #wbneedstoownthisshit

Destiny 2... 2nd destiny? I don't know... Whatever

So, I was talked into trying the Destiny 2 beta by a couple friends of mine, on the basis that I shouldn't judge it without playing it. Fair enough. It sucks ass in the same way the first destiny game did. It's the same game, with a couple of new tricks. Hell, the strike you could play in the beta was practically the same map as the icarus pvp map from the last add on in the first game. It's bullshit folks. They promise to have more story and okay, fine, I hope they deliver on that. But let's not get it twisted, they should've done that in the first place. You don't get points for FINALLY fixing what was fucked up from day one. There's a lot of substance (storywise) in the first mission, but so what? The first beta made it seem like there would be a shit ton more content too. There wasn't. I'm not impressed by the new pvp system either. Just, nothing there that makes me think they're going to do any better than the original, and with less members on each team? Yeah, no thanks. Bungie sent me an email, asking me to return and be a legend again. My reply: fuck you, fuck your game and fuck any future games you put out. I'm done with you. As always, do whatever the hell you want with your money, but I won't be buying destiny 2,or any other future destinies.

Rape should make us uncomfortable.  It should make us sick to think of a human being doing that to another human being.  I don’t ever think we should become comfortable with the subject matter.  But we need to learn to handle it better.  We need to stop joking about it and treating it lightly because we’re not sure how else to handle it.  Those who have been through it, deserve more respect than that.

I've so been there.

I've been rewatching breaking bad and there's a moment where Jesse is looking and feeling desperately lonely/depressed. He walks into his house and there are people partying/dancing/fighting/fucking right there in his living room and he just walks in, sits down on his couch and amidst the chaos he's just totally and completely relaxed. Minus drugs in my life, I've been there. I've sat in the misdt of that chaos and felt totally at peace. And now I realize just how utterly depressed and lonely I was at that time.

Not the same old turkey day...

So, one November our writing instructor wanted us to use thanksgiving as the subject, with one stipulation; it had to be fresh. No pilgrims and Indians, no first American feast, and if you mentioned anything like that you would automatically fail. I didn't even hesitate and before class was half over, I'd turned in my story and started to work on another one. Friday rolled around and normally we got our assignments graded and returned then. Professor Charles walked up to the front of the room and, rubbing his eyes as though he had a headache, signed loudly. "I know I told you I would have your assignments graded and back to you by today, but I don't have them. I would have. I was making good progress, until I got to the story about the 6 foot tall killer turkey with a battle axe. Then I called it a night. Every head in the class turned to look at me and I was just smiling. I got an A.
