The little prince

I like the story "the little prince". He traveled different planet and met different creature. "One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye." "It is the time you have lost for your rose that makes your rose so important." 

He talked with fox, he said the story about the his precious rose, he comforted pilot the "All men have the stars."

I don't think I totally understand the all metaphor in the story. I even have my perspective to world, love, life.

But I think, I can feel something very soft humanity from the story.

what kind of world does social media brings to you

When we talked about the influence of social media on movement yesterday, Mike said he didn't have time to access his social media account. Reem said her experience that ISIS group member retwittered her words and persuaded her to believe in them. 

People who are over/below certain age, they are not interested in Facebook.

People use social media to spread what that believe and find the fellows.

We live in different world, because we decide what we could believe.

My question is who can change your opinion and how can they do?

I made a mistake and deleted the article I have written this afternoon...

I mentioned the experience when I learnt in 2nd language class in Japan, in which I learnt how to use skills to express my self. At that time, I still believed the smile could help me communicate.

When I came to US, I find even people smile to you it does't mean anything. Words have strong power, more persuasive than anything else. I think maybe the only thing we can believe here is word. (I always think activity is better and talking, which is very tradition asian view.) We can hardly rely on culture, because everyone is from different background. The common communication way is language.

I talked with facility in writing center today. I found I didn't know a lot about how to write a precise beautiful and strong article. I learnt 2 things, first keep specific and detail plot, 2nd is put things related together.

It is like a package. Putting different box together and classify them into a system.

solamachi- town in sky

This year when I went to Tokyo, I found the the most popular symbolization of this city was not Tokyo Tower again. Instead, Tokyo skytree has become the landmark of this city. It is really hard to find out the recording of the history and concept of Tokyo Tower, but skytree already had had a concept before it was built. It is a project that creating a town with a tower in the historical location.The town is called"solamachi",means town in sky, which is considerate as a public space for resident. The main concept includes: grow, live, community, art and craft. All the design server for the concept. When I went there I felt the atmosphere filled with relax and pleasure. The light, the museum, the shopping experience, the beautiful view are cooperated by the modern design and it didn't make people feel uncomfortable. I felt I was in a different world where had the spirit of Tokyo from old time and had the latest concept of space layout.  The guide was very clear, even I was first time went there it was not difficult to have fun there. In my memories, all the happiness was from food, light, design and service.

I thought "solamachi" is a concept of new community space. A place designed for experience and emotion, not for merchandise first.

I don't know why it makes me to think about the virtual community of "perfume's world" website. It is a site established for the fan of Japanese popular idol group "perfume." When we log in the website, there is a virtual map of a town. Every user can establish their own house in this place to celebrate with their idol. Sometimes the idol character will say some words and some construction might be create in this virtual space.

Can we say it is a space for communication or a space for promotion?

If these 2 communities could be thought a combination of reality with virtuality, compared with above 2 kind of communities, I also want to say something without real object, Like WOW. In WOW, people don't know each other collaborate with each other, fighting for the same target, building the society, but after game, maybe most of never meet each other once.

The Ghost In The MP3

Can’t believe I missed this project …

Audio experiment by Ryan Maguire put together the sounds that are lost in MP3 compression (in this case the track ‘Tom’s Diner’ by Suzanne Vega which was used to test the algorithm whilst in development):

"moDernisT" was created by salvaging the sounds lost to mp3 compression from the song "Tom’s Diner", famously used as one of the main controls in the listening tests to develop the MP3 encoding algorithm. Here we find the form of the song intact, but the details are just remnants of the original.

SYMPOSIUM ABOUT BOSE

I am a fan of bose.

I didn't know they don't use agency. 

Why I like bose? I tried the different brands' headphone, I like its performance I like the technology behind bose I like it because it kills noise. I think I have the similar character as it. I think it represent my style. 

But I hardly like the Id design..

I am interested in the real story and story telling behind bose. As Brian said, the position of him, he made the platform for users and maker to connect with each other. The process is most important part.

Way To Go

Now this is something special ….

A future media animation experience of a character running in the woods. Shown at the Sundance Festival this year as part of the interactive section, the work combines 360 captured video, hand-drawn animation, illustration, 3D, webVR and interactive audio. All this runs in a Chrome browser and can be experienced in a VR headset if you have one (although it isn’t necessary to have one - just mouse and keyboard). Fantastic work …
