(pa kent giving The Talk voice) see when a bull and a cow love each other very much, that’s how a calf is born [remembers his son came from space] of course if the bull comes from another farm, the cow might not end up taking, but that’s alright [remembers clark might be gay] sometimes bulls also love other bulls [remembers clark is an alien again] but if the bull is from another farm, he might have a calf if he fools around with bulls from here so he should be careful.

SteveTony Weekly - August 3 - Age Gap
Tumblr media
Happy August, y’all! Short and sweet today, I’m traveling and tossing this together in between family obligations. Today’s theme is
AGE DIFFERENCE
Silver fox/twink fics are one of my very favorite tropes--which if you’ve read my work at all, you know. So here’s some favorite age gap fics.
inspired by Areiton
Steve chose him and he calls him sweetheart and that--that has to mean something.
“I want one thing, before I agree to this,” Tony says, and Steve studies him, blue eyes dark and intent.
Or:
Steve is a silver fox and Tony is a thirsty twink and we all know how this is gonna end.
Celestial Navigation by sabrecmc
Celestial Navigation: 18 year old Omega!Tony finds himself Bonded to Captain Steve Rogers. He isn't happy about it until he is.
By request, here is CN in one place without other stories and artwork.
We Used To Crash Like Waves by closeyoureyez
Tony is a 27-year-old disgraced omega working as a nanny. His summer consists of taking the child in his care, Natasha, to the community pool.
Alpha Steve Rogers is the 18-year-old, ridiculously attractive lifeguard of said pool.
When Tony meets him, he feels like he’s been punched in the gut and his omega instincts immediately go haywire. But Steve is nearly ten years younger than him. And definitely out of his league. Plus, there’s the whole ‘he’s sworn off alphas’ thing.
It doesn’t matter how blue Steve’s eyes are. Or how spectacular his muscles look, all wet and glistening, as he vaults out of the water. The two of them will never, ever happen.
Steve, though…Steve’s got other ideas.
I could lie tangent to your curves by RurouniHime
Steve is bodyguard to a prominent young socialite with too much genius on his hands... and who has taken an unfortunate shine to him.
(Written for royal_chandler, who won the bid for my offer in Marvel Trumps Hate 2018.)
love me like a sinner by ArabellaAM
“So,” he says in the end, attracting Steve’s gaze towards him. “Is that everything you wanted?”
It’s only then —when he swears he can feel Steve’s breath tickling his cheek— that he realizes how close they actually are. So close the hunger in those blue eyes is undeniable, just as it’s undeniable Steve is no longer looking at him in the eye, but rather to his lips.
“Not really,” Steve says, voice raw and thick, as his eyes move quickly to Tony’s annular finger before returning to his lips.
Tony tilts his head and asks, in a tone that sounds more like a dare, “then what are you waiting for?”
Steve doesn’t actually answer; it’s Tony that makes an educated guess as he tries to grasp for air once Steve dips his head and drowns in his lips.
Or, Steve visits Tony after five years and it's not the salvation of the world he's after.
the sweet taste of pain by Areiton
“Here, let me,” a low warm voice says, and Steve twists, gives ground to the omega that he hadn’t even noticed standing a step behind him, watches as deft fingers manage the lock, and push it open. And then hold it, waiting for Steve to stumble through.
He blinks, and looks up at his rescuer, and his breath punches out of him, at the faint smile and the warm whiskey eyes, the messy curls above a thin, tired face.
“C’mon, slugger, get inside before you pass out on the stoop.”
It’s teasing, but there’s an order there, and Steve almost trips himself, hurrying to obey.
Pythagorean Expectation by trickdaggers
Steve turns, feeling his heart fall out of his chest at the figure walking towards them. This has to be a dream. A nightmare— one that Steve has definitely had before.
Tony Stark walking towards them does not compute. Even with his eyes shrouded by orange-tinted spectacles, there is no mistaking that lopsided grin and casual strut onto the field even from a distance. Steve's head is swimming with questions. Tony holds so much notoriety right now that it would be near impossible to keep him transferring teams a secret, especially considering the team he would be leaving is owned by his own family.
(Aka, the fic in which Steve and Tony are rivals both off and on the baseball field— until they aren’t. And it’s also in the 90s, because why the hell not.)

*Clint and Peter shoveling noodles, dumplings, and crab rangoons into their mouth all at once, barely chewing, with the occasional chug of sprite*
Steve, chopsticks hovering in shock: I can kind of understand Peter, super metabolism and all, but I've got nothing on why Clint eats like the food will disappear any second
Tony: He was neglected as a child. I find that explains most of his problems
Steve: Even why he uses a bow and arrow instead of a gun?
Tony: Especially that

Tony: I love saying 'fuck me' because it can either be sexual or self-loathing and those are two things that describe me perfectly.

Tony has always been soft.
Howard doesn't know where he got it from. Stark men were made out of iron after all, and, as much as he'd love to blame Maria, she wasn't soft either, she was more cold, maybe a little weak, easily shattered like glass, but she wasn't soft.
But Tony was. He smiled too much, was too curious, demanded hugs, cried at movies.
Howard tried to punch it out of him of course, but Tony didn't get harder at each hit, or started fighting back, Tony just got quiet. It's a shame that no one told Howard that children are supposed to be soft, that there's a reason you hold their heads as babies and there hands as toddlers.
Tony, though? He never grew out of it. He hid it well, of course. Under all the parties and money and shades he almost looked tough, but it's hard to hide how soft you are inside when you publicly step into an armour as your second day job.
And while he still hides it well, it pokes through now, from time to time, in the way he seeks out warmth during movie night, swallowed up by a blanket and still pressed to the human furnaces in the team. In the way that he rebuilds all their suits after every minor injury. In the way he flinches when he's called a murderer to his face, only to laugh it off after putting his sunglasses back on, because he is still hiding.
Then Morgan comes. And she's, well, soft. As children are supposed to be. And he holds her head and her tiny hands and all the armour, the hard exterior he pretended he had, falls off of Tony like a burden. Because how could anyone, a father nonetheless, look at his child and think that being soft could ever mean anything bad? Tony realises it way too late, especially for a genius, that the softness in him, his father hated so much, was indistinguishable from kindness.
No wonder Howard couldn't stand it.
I love the glimpses we get of the insecure, vulnerable Tony Stark. Not domesticated Endgame Tony, but when the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist with all his ostentation and selfishness cracks and he reveals his humanity
When Yinsen is asking about his family and Tony just looks so shy and sheepish when admitting, no, he doesn't have anyone. Because Yinsen can look beyond the wealth and fame and actually see how little Tony has. And it's shameful; Tony wants to be loved and worth something to someone. The showboating man actually looked small for once
Or when Rhodey comes to check on him as he's dying of polladium poisoning and he's too tired to put up a front. Who looks up at his best friend with blank, tired eyes, who needs help to walk. Before the mask gets pulled back down and he says I know what I'm doing and I don't need your help
Who's faced with an 89% percent concentration of poison in his body and can't quite pull it together enough when alone with Natasha. Nat flirts openly, willingly, speaks softly of dirty innuendos and with teasing touches, and Tony pulls away. Coughs awkwardly and ignores them. Asks what to do with his last time on Earth because he's scared. And then the next scene he's laughing, touching her, drinking and boasting. Flaunting his prowess, chasing women. Puts up a front well enough to fool the Black Widow
Tony who can't take anything seriously. Who pokes at a potential rage monster, teases Gods, smirks at the American Hero and makes fun of his outfit. Who's thought of as a joke, a self-centered manchild who thinks he knows better than everyone else. But then. But then Steve asks "first time you've lost a soldier?" and Tony "we are not soldiers." comes out. For just a split second you see his pain and fear. Maybe it's less about knowing better and more about not wanting to see anyone, his friends, die. He isn't made for that even if it's supposedly the "right thing to do"
By the time Tony sacrifices himself in Avengers and wakes up under his teammates watchful eyes and immediately starts joking about shawarma and homosexuality, they understand. They understand that this is all some big act. That Tony is kind, selfless, worried and insecure. That he wants what he doesn't have and pretends he wants what he does. The women and fame and the pompous attitude all boil down to his softness and kindness being beaten out of him as a child. But it's still there, as much as he tries to hide it with humour and bad manners. He's soft and he cares

Tony (having just woken up after being severely injured): If I knew I was going to be kidnapped and tortured today, I would have saved the self-torture for another day.
Steve (going from insanely worried to shocked): Tony.
Tony (almost immediately): ..it’s a mechanism for self-deprecation, Steve, sorry for hating myself :/
