Treetop Walking at Whitefish Ski Resort, Montana
Whitefish, Montana. Photo by IIPTSIA.com Today I have chosen a shot of us walking through the treetops at Whitefish ski Resort in Montana. Pretty interesting and a different perspective of a forest. We see a lot of forest from the ground up, seldom from the treetops down. I can only imagine what it would be like doing this in a tropical forest. One can dream can’t we. Anyone out there ever done…

Creating a Year-Round Haven: Our RV Lot Transformation Began in 2017
Our Trailer in 2017 We showed you a blank canvas when we last talked about our RV lot. https://joebeans2002.com/2024/07/19/creating-our-year-round-haven-leasing-and-developing-in-bc/ We had this unit near Balfour, BC, on Kootenay Lake. The sight was perfect in every aspect except one. It wasn’t open all year. It also didn’t have running water, power, or sewage. The new location had more and…

Iconic Athabasca Falls: A Timeless Picture from 2011
Way back in 2011, I posted this one as the first picture I personally took on here. It is fitting today as it is a shot of Athabasca Falls, which is close to Jasper, Alberta. I haven’t heard anything about the status at the falls yet, but I’m sure we will at some point. It was a terrible day for the people who lived there and a tragedy for the rest of the world. It is iconic, beautiful, and…

Lisbon and Sintra : Our Spanish Tour's Memorable Extension
Ah, Portugal. In 2012, we decided to include Lisbon in our Spain tour. It was a spontaneous decision, but it turned out to be the best choice we made. Lisbon was amazing—the food, the atmosphere, the attractions. Then there’s Sintra, a place with a unique history that dates back to the 9th century when it was occupied by the Moors, and it continued to thrive until the late 19th century. It’s a…

Sailing Misfortune: JohnLoriEh's Boat Adventure on Kootenay Lake
As promised, here’s a quick tale of our sailboat, the JohnLoriEh. The boat was a 25-foot 1979 O’Day moored for the winter in Kaslo Bay, part of Kootenay Lake. As you may notice, there is a bit of snow onboard, and this was after cleaning most of it off. As a point of interest, Kootenay Lake does not freeze up. Long story short, it was tied up to the dock alongside a boat shed. The shed collapsed…

Under Sail, What A Feeling
The JohnLoriEh under sail on Sunshine Bay near Harrop and Procter, BC. On a bit of a memory bender, bear with me, I’ll move along soon. This shot was taken in 2017. The JohnLoriEh

Sometimes You Need To Look Up
Today’s photo has nothing to do with our photo library and everything to do with just being content. Looking up is the thing tonight as we sit on our deck enjoying the cool of the evening. July is almost over, and before you know it the leaves will be changing and we will then move onto the next season, the next year, the next thing, whatever that may be. Sometimes we just need to look up!

Glimpse of Kootenay Lake: Captivating Sailing Moment in 2016
Trying something to spur my momentum. I have a gazillion photos , why not share. And if I try 1 a day for the next whatever days in my earthly existence, I’ll never run out of material. Sounds easy right, let’s see how it goes. Hopefully I’ll be inspired to get back into writing and interviewing. First shot. Sailing on Kootenay Lake, BC, Canada Yes we’ve sailed. We have done some West Coast in…

Raíces Restaurant In Mazatlán, A Review
As we do from time to time, we make our way down the Centro area of Mazatlán. Today we, or more specifically Lori, were on threefold mission. First lunch, then looking for an object at Michaels Gallery and third, an ice cream cone. Step 1 was to grab a pulmonia for transport to the Centro area. Somehow this turned into me getting a haircut, funny how that happens. Anyways, slightly delayed we…

Concha T Toro Gran Reserva Carmenere 2020
Photo by Is It Possible To See It All This superb example of Chilean wine is a must. The grape is grown in the Cachapoal Valley in Chile. An affordable Gran Reserva at an average price of $21.46 CAD, it is rated as 4.0 by over 800 users on Vivino. This app is worthy of a download as it gives you valuable information on a wine by just taking a picture as it sits on the shelf of your favorite wine…

It’s time for a new series, the greatest cover song of all time, and you get to pick it. This will take a while, based solely on the vast amount of existing covers. The Voice - A New Series - The Intro
Have you ever wondered what happened to that voice, the one you liked in season something? Did they continue their careers, or fold their tent and join the labour force? In this series, we will touch on some of the over 1000 contestants that have appeared in this franchise, at least the American version. I hope you find this interesting. I follow independent artists and offer support wherever I…

Canada’s All-Time Top Songs – #99
After a Visitor break (some old friends from Saskatchewan on their way to the Chepe Express) and a bit of a cold, maybe CoVid, I will continue to move forward to where I left off; here is 99 on the top 100 list. I have also added a few notes as an upgrade. I think I was in a hurry when I did this one. As for the Chepe Express, we plan on that one next year. At 99, we present “We Run” by Strange…
