 hawkins      had       a      shining       star       shone      on      jocks.             especially      jocks       that      helped       lead       their      school      to      multiple       state       titles.              you      had       the       world      in       the       palm      of       your      hand              ,             but       that      didn’t       matter      to       marcus.              HE WANTED TO MAKE IT TO THE NBA.             that was his goal.              if      there       was       one       thing       his       family       taught      him             ,             it      was       to      make      sure      to      treat       people       the       way       they       wanted       to       be       treated.              MARCUS DIDN’T CARE ABOUT THE SOCIAL HIEARCHY OF HAWKINS HIGH              ,             even       though       he       was       included      in      the      top       tier.              eddie      and        him      shared       a       couple       of       classes.             of      course       he       heard       comments      being      made       from       jason      that      only       caused      him       to       roll      his      eyes.              HE DIDN’T GET IT.             he      had       his       own      hobbies       just       like      marcus       had       his.              with      his       giant       stature             ,              marcus      didn’t       really       get      knocked       over.              if anything             ,            he      reassured       him      that       it      was      no      big      deal.         ❝           relax.              it’s cool.               HALL MONITOR IS AROUND THE CORNER               ,              but       she’s       got      a      crush       on      me.             walk       with      me      and       you      should      be       good.             WHAT’S YOUR NEXT CLASS MUNSON      ?       ❞    

it was clear battle lines drawn in the sand within the high school hierarchy, and eddie was more aware of that than most. knowing where he stood, he often sought to lighten the awkwardness of those precious teen years by rocking the boat, shepherding other weirdos such as himself, and generally just trying to survive the day. if he, the freak, wasn't all what he seemed, the same could be said for the golden jock. out of all that crowd, eddie believed marcus was a nice guy. a dreaded title most of the time, but in this case, a good thing. eddie didn't feel like he had to put on his devil act for him... unless he was doing it for laughs. so when the klutz crashed into the jock in the middle of the hallway, eddie didn't feel the need to rise on the defensive, or put on a crazy show to deflect the embarrassment of the accident. "sorry, man! i know it sounds like a line, but i didn't see you there. i'm avoiding the hall monitor. if i get one more detention, i'm toast this semester." @jockgolden

 he       wasn’t       keen        on        being        at       parties            ,            clubs           ,          things        that        his        friends       didn’t       mind       going       too.                 MARCUS WAS ONE TO BE VOCAL ON HOW HIS ANXIETY CAME INTO PLAY IN PUBLIC PLACES.                  this event seemed to be different.               marcus        didn’t       mind       charity       events        due        to       it       being       for        a       good        cause.                of       course       it       wasn’t        bad        to        dress        up        every       now        and        then        either.                 marcus was naturally charming                ,                soft-spoken       compared       to       his       demeanor       on        the        court.                most       are        taken        back        by        how        sweet-natured        he       was.    

marcus        was        familiar        with        everyone        at        his       table               ,                from        singers              ,               to       models                ,                 to        oscar-winning       actors.                 even       though        marcus        was       considered        famous                ,               he        was        relatively       humble       compared        to        most        a-list       celebrities        he’s       come       across.      ❝          oh   ?                   appreciate it                ,                  i just uh         ,         love       the        game        really.                FAN OF YOUR MOVIES.                i’m marcus                ,              nice        to        meet       you       man.           ❞                  marcus       replies               ,              shaking       his       hand       along        with        finishing        his       sentence. 

arlo knew sports - type blokes tended to get invited to these sorts of things, CHARITY GALAS n' what - not. still, he hadn't expected the seating chart to place him directly across from MARCUS CHAMBERS , 6x NBA championship winner and all - around living legend. bollocks, he's gonna fuck this one well and truly. he's already buzzed off the free martinis and he's terrible with lads (sans in the bedroom).

surely his reputation precedes him, but fuck, he might as well try and make for some friendly conversation, yeah? "right then. marcus chambers, yeah? m' names arlo thompson, just wanted t' introduce meself n' say am' a big fan. n' that's sayin' a lot, comin' from me," offers up his oscar - winning smile, outstretches a hand towards @jockgolden to be shaken.

american quidditch player/ ilvermorny student marcus chambers , the youngest player to go play for country in the quidditch world cup, transfers to hogwarts. yes he gets sorted into hufflepuff. 😌
