I completely understand the "writers block" feeling. I think my brain was going in circles with finals coming up, so I had a lot of trouble presenting clear ideas. I usually struggle with my introduction because I have a hard time making it flow into the rest of the essay and usually write my introduction last. Your definition of the introduction paragraph helps me with my essay because I can tackle it in a more simplistic way- communicating meaning. I will definitely be taking your definition into account when I make adjustments to my draft.

Favorite Part of Essay
Tumblr media
It is hard for me to identify the best part of my essay. I tend to be a little too self-critical and in many cases, I don't like what I wrote. If I were to highlight any part by chance, it would probably be my introduction paragraph where I define the central premise of writing as communicating meaning and how writing is not a unary process. I had the most fun writing that portion of the assignment as I rarely found myself encountering “writer’s block” and my outline was of a solid standing.

I don't think actual posts from Tumblr are needed, since you described in detail what a few of your posts looked like throughout this section of your essay.
The only other suggestion I have for you is to expand on your last sentence. Maybe mention how these ideas and structures from Tumblr can help you in specific areas of your future, such as different classes or a specific task that will be present in your career. This will help relate what you learned from Tumblr with your future career and will allow you to refer back to this when mentioning how your skills are linked to your use of Tumblr.

Feedback - Content Reflecting on Learning Essay
Tumblr media
For this section of my content reflecting on learning essay, I was focused on reflecting on how writing and posting on Tumblr throughout the semester will be useful in my future writing situations. I highlighted a few ways that the knowledge I learned from Tumblr will help me in my future. For example, using pictures and words or creating longer and more detailed posts to effectively communicate my ideas. Do you think I should include actual examples from Tumblr? For example, should I reference specific posts I made and what was in them, or does what I have already convey my message effectively?

Where will you adjust your essay to strengthen your point? (week 14-15)
I will be my adjusting my essay by adding more to the actual reflection aspect. Based on the feedback I received from my classmates, they mentioned taking the skills a bit further and explaining how asking for feedback, designing content, and why the skills are useful for my future. I mentioned this in my essay, but I think it should be pushed further and expanded on. I also think I will add in more examples of where my skills were shown and how I will continue to develop these skills, so I can clearly reflect on what I have done in the class.
I plan on adjusting the essay more once I received feedback from Professor P.

Peer Feedback (week 14-15)
Tumblr media
This is a section from my content reflection essay. In this section, I focused on describing how I developed the employer skills and how it relates to what we did in class and my future career.
Feedback questions:
Does this show the actual "reflection" aspect of the essay, or do I need to elaborate on how I developed these skills further?
Should I relate the skills and reflection to my future in general, or should it be directly related to my specific career?
Does elaborating on specific employer skills that will be more useful to me work, or should I describe each skill equally?

This a great addition to the writing process and being accustomed to doing it for every assignment, helps develop a routine. I also struggled with asking for feedback in the start of class, more so what to ask for in feedback. Through trial and error, I finally developed a process of looking at which aspects I thought were lacking or were unsure of and asked about those specific sections. This made sure that the other students answered with specific feedback instead of a general "looks good" since this doesn't exactly help improve our assignments.
What are you most proud of with your writing process?
One thing I definitely struggled with in the past was asking for feedback and using that feedback to better my writing. Over the course of this semester, we had to ask for feedback many times on different projects and assignments and use that peer feedback to make changes to our writing. I think I improved over the course of this semester with asking for clear and constructive feedback and not being afraid to make changes to my work. This process of asking for feedback is now a crucial part of my writing process. I am proud that I developed this part of my writing process.

What do you like the most about your essay? (week 14-15)
I really enjoyed reflecting on how I developed the employer skills throughout the class engagement. I didn't exactly think about those skills as I was completing assignments, although once I mentioned the use of the key concepts, and how I engaged with the class, it really showed how I developed these skills. I also go into detail about which skills I would like to continue to work on as they will be more crucial for my future career.

This is very similar to my writing process as well. I always start off with outlining my ideas because it gives me a clear understanding of how I want my writing laid out and what I want to include as far as information. I tend to draft my introduction first but leave out my thesis statement/main idea since this usually has to deal with the remaining body paragraph. I complete the 3 body paragraphs, so I know exactly what I included in each paragraph, and then I finalize my introduction paragraph with those ideas. Asking for feedback and revising is always a great step to have in your writing process.
#writ318mu
What is your writing process?
I begin my writing process by creating an outline of some sort or just writing all my ideas down so I can organize them. I try to come up with 3 specific ideas I would like to talk about so those can be my body paragraphs and the body or my writing. Then I will begin to draft starting with an introduction, my 3 body paragraphs with my ideas building off one another, and then finally ending with a conclusion to wrap it up. I then submit it for feedback to see if there is anything I can fix, once I get my feedback I go back in and revise it and then submit my final draft.

Brainstorming: communication (week 14-15)
I view communication as any form of exchanging or sharing information between other people. We see communication with speaking in person, texting, calling, writing essays, since these all deal with the idea of giving and receiving information. Communication can also be practiced, similar to how we are posting information and ideas with each other, or when we complete our projects since we are communication to a particular audience.

Favorite snacks-sweet and salty (week 14-15)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My go-to snack is usually popcorn, but when I am busy and stressed, I usually crave junk food/sweets so that's where the brownies come in. I don't find them too sweet since there is so much bitter cocoa powder, but they definitely satisfy the sweet cravings...especially this close to finals.

I love that you included communication within your description of collaboration, because it is a crucial part. When collaborating with others, it takes effort, so reaching and communicating with them starts off great engagement between your other members.
Listening to what others say is also a great addition because there really is no collaboration if just one person is making all the decisions. For most people it is easier to work by themselves since they have their own way of doing things, although adding more collaborators help expand ideas, bring new ideas and ease the workload.
#writ318mu
How Do You Understand Collaboration?
In the simplest sense, collaboration means working together with others. You must be able to share ideas and listen to what everyone else has to say. You also have to try to compromise and divide any responsibilities evenly so that no one is stuck with more work. Communication plays a large role in being able to collaborate successfully!

What is learning? (week 14-15)
Tumblr media
I think of learning as absorbing any kind of information to build on your preexisting ideas or knowledge. In school, we learn from reading, taking notes, drafting, watching demonstrations, etc. since we are actively engaging with new information and absorbing the knowledge. This is very similar to learning outside of school, by watching the News, commercials, seeing informational posters and billboards, or even as simple as experiencing things in everyday activities. For example, watching your parent cook a meal, you are learning how to prepare that meal by experiencing and absorbing the information being demonstrated. All this information that we see and experience, adds and expands on our knowledge, which helps better our understanding.

What is content? week 14-15
Tumblr media
Content is any type of idea showing the creators purpose in order to appeal to a specific audience. Since this is a web writing course, the content we are seeing and creating has all been written or designed for the users of web platforms. Although, the basic term of content can be anything from visuals, colors, format, text, etc. as long as it has the necessary context, portrays your goal and meets the audience's needs.
Content also needs a lot of preparation, as we all saw in the last project with deciphering content strategy and content creation. We need to research, plan, practice, present and then adjust based on the user reactions. Content has to look at the user experience, discourse community, and information architecture to show their overall purpose.

Brainstorming-understand creativity? week 14-15
Creativity is a word that I hear at least 10 times a day since my major is Graphic Design, so I understand its meaning and what it looks like. Creativity to me is taking an original idea, which could mean adding a new spin on a classic or coming up with a whole new style and making it meaningful. Either one of these resembles creativity because it has to do with being open to any ideas from yourself or others, since creativity lives in everyone. Being creativities also means having a clear understanding of functionality. You can be creative as you want but if it isn't able fully be put into action, then it won't be useful.
Ultimately, I understand creativity as a way of being original with ideas, whether that is new images, design, choice of font, topic/idea, document format, etc. and making them useful in a way that they can be utilized and noticed by others.

Your slides do a nice job at briefly explaining the importance of the tip/trick to the creator. I think including your other video styles depends on the length of your How to Write Guide. Since the guide is supposed to be brief because the audience doesn't want to read through a huge presentation regarding small tips, I would you should stick with the tips that you feel would benefit your creators the most. If you have other slides that give tips/tricks that relate to other aspects of content, I think including just one style would work. Maybe in your lip-syncing slide, write how this is the most important style due to its simplicity and low difficulty, so it shows the creator why you are not including the other styles.

ok so I have this slide about differentiating your video styles and the types you can try, and then I have a slide more specifically about lip syncing. Do you guys think I need a specificity slide for each video style? I only chose lip syncing because I feel like it would be the worst type of video to do “badly” with bc that’s something that is easy to to and you’d look pretty silly to mess that up. But idk

How to Write Guide Feedback
Tumblr media
This is my closing slide in my How to Write Guide, which covers how to continue using content strategy. I went over ways that could be useful when looking at readjusting content based on engagement, since this is what most creators look at to see if their content is working.
Question:
Do I need to include anything else for the creator to look at besides the level of engagement received on their content?
Does this portray the importance for their overall goal of presenting healthy recipes? Do I need to relate their goal more in this slide to connect with the research question from the content analysis?

I also included this in my how to write guide. Collecting hashtags was my main data collection, so I knew I needed to include how important these were in my guide. Just like how you included, I mentioned how the users need to be able to find the content in order to engage, so hashtags are needed since this is how users are brought into a specific topic.
I'm sure you already have, but definitely include images of the hashtags or those hashtags (#grwm #fyp and #relatable) in larger, bolder text so it makes it known to the creator which ones work well depending on the content.

Post a tip or trick that you are offering in your guide that is useful to all of us?
Week 13: Post a tip or trick that you are offering in your guide that is useful to all of us?
One piece that I included in my guide is that when you are first starting out, yes the content does matter but if you want to reach an audience or create your own you need to start off with using hashtags and common ones that people will be searching when looking for content that is similar to yours or that is related directly to yours. In my guide I directly say...
Hashtags Boost Discoverability:
Include popular hashtags to make your content discoverable
Research trending and niche-specific hashtags for broader reach.
For example, the creators I am researching and collecting data from use hashtags that include #grwm, #fyp, and #relatable.

A tip or trick I am offering in my guide that is useful to all of us!
Tumblr media
This is one of the main tips that I show in my How to Write guide because it goes over the use of the caption. I explain how the caption needs to relate to the content posted, which in my guide, it needs to relate to the specific meal/recipe photo posted. This can be useful to all of us because when we post an image along with text, the text should be related to the image. For example, when someone posts an image of a dog, and then writes about cats, this has no relation and will confuse the audience. Relating the content posted with the text we place alongside helps convey our reason for posting and also gives a clear understanding to the audience.
