I don't follow Trollhunter content much these days, but if the trending page is anything to go by it looks like the new movie really ... sucked. Which sucks, and I sympathize, but I'm not surprised.

I think the franchise has been on a downward spiral for a few years now (perhaps precisely because it became a big franchise rather than one single solid story). I loved the original two seasons' grounded characters, well-developed magic, high stakes, and tightly-plotted arcs; they're still some of my favourite examples of really excellent storytelling. But around the time del Toro took a back seat on the project, the story rapidly disintegrated into confusing and unnecessary 'plot twist!' territory, which in the end is just deeply unsatisfying.

It's a real shame, and it sucks that it's gone so far that a lot of you feel the same disappointment towards this new movie as I did towards Trollhunters back then.

It's cool if you do like the later stuff, and I do admire all the work the creators have put into it. I'm just sad that the show changed so much in tone and quality over the (frankly overblown) storyline that it caused even a dedicated fan like me to almost completely lose interest.

If you're in the same boat, you might be much happier if you pretend it all ended once Jim escaped the Darklands, like I've been pretending for a while now ...

All these moments of these two adorable children I like the most. But now I’m hurt. Seeing everything starts over differently. But I feel so down and confuse. Both Jim and Claire have been through Hell together, but they always find a way to save each other and even now they get to fall in love again.

I still love and care for Jlaire.

How long does it take to watch the whole ‘Tales of Arcadia’ franchise back-to-back?

There are (or will be) 89 installments of the franchise on Netflix - 52 episodes of Trollhunters, 26 episodes of 3Below, 10 episodes of Wizards, and the Rise of the Titans movie. 

According to Netflix, each episode is 23 minutes long (although if we assume 3 minutes are the starting and closing credits, that’s 20 minutes of show content per episode, meaning 3 episodes can be watched in an hour.)

23 minutes x 88 episodes = 2024 minutes, or 33.73 hours 

If you don’t fast forward at all, then watching all the episodes as shown on Netflix would take roughly 33 hours and 45 minutes (or exactly 33 hours, 43 minutes, and 48 seconds).

According to a Google search, the movie’s running time is expected to be 1 hour and 44 minutes, so the total time of a binge-watch would be about 35-and-a-half hours.

That means July 19th at 5:15pm is the latest time to start a marathon in order to have time to binge all the show episodes before the movie airs at 3am on July 21st (which seems to be the hour these things happen, at least in my timezone). 

(But because it’s not advisable for a human to stay awake that many hours in a row, it might be a better idea to start sooner and take naps.)

I think there's a possibility that the Tarron siblings might have a personal dynamic with Skreal, because it's obvious that Jim is going to have one with Bellroc, and that Douxie has one with Nari. So it would make sense if the Tarron siblings have some personal conflict with Skreal.
