Outdoor recreation/activity refers to leisure pursuits engaged in outdoors, often in natural/semi-natural settings out of town. It meets the needs of physical health, self-sufficiency, risk-taking, teambuilding , needs of achievement (like practicing, enhancing & challenging skills, testing stamina & endurance, and seeking adventure/excitement) & an environment in which people "show what they can do". Examples are racing, cycling, camping, canoeing, fishing, waterskiing, rock climbing, surfing & etc. As such, we decided to try one of these activities. Not because of what we already knew (w/ is most of the reason) but for us to experience what we didn’t expect to. This time we had chosen an activity that is manlier, talks about speed, heat, engines and flag. That is “CAR RACING”! The Curt Zone a company in Cebu located in F. Cabahug St, Cebu City, Cebu, which created a business for recreational activity inclined w/ car racing. We were able to talk w/ one of the staff who was assigned to manage the said business on site, & got some insight on how their business works especially for customer satisfaction. 1.) How are you going to deal w/ sustainability? Staff: Serves satisfying guest service

2.) What are the challenges in maintaining loyal customers? Staff: We actually don’t have challenges as no competitor is emerging in this sector, as for now.

3.) What are the common challenges of sport & recreation manager? Staff: Keeping the budget enough for the needs of the business.

4.) How do you secure the safety of your guest? Staff: Provide quality head gear for customer’s to wear, implemented rules & regulation (should be follow by all), and an informative video clip should be watch before customer will start the activity.

5.) What is the most difficult part of this job? Staff: Nothing 6.) What do you think are the advantages of hotel engaging on a sports and recreation al activities? Staff: Attract tourist, & that’s it. 7.) How do you deal competitors & how do you attract market? Staff: For now, no competitor & for strategy in attracting market are location is the answer. 8.) Piece & advice for hospitality students like us? Staff: Don’t just stay on the knowledge provided by the school. Go out & explore, learned firsthand the experience that was not written by the book. After the interview, we prepared ourselves for the main event. But of course, before we feel the wind of speed under the heat & hear roaring sounds of the car’s engine, we have to learn the basics first. We were advised to watch a video clip that’ll contains the information of the activity. From parts & functions of the race car w/c was the F1 car (a.k.a Formula One) down to the Do’s & Don’ts of the activity. Then they gave us a gear suit & helmet (cost is ₱25.00/per) for us to wear for safety & security reasons. We hurriedly put them on, & then walked straight to the prepared F1. For first timers, there were options provided, if w/ passenger for guidance purpose is ₱450.00, w/o passenger ₱225.00. As we started, we switch on the engine, & softly stamp the accelerator to make the car moved. At first it was nerve wracking, due to neither of us never experience driving a car. But the eagerness of completing 4 lapses & dream of putting more speed in driving the F1 (like a pro) dominated, we’re able to start driving the car w/ better speed. The experience is really enjoyable & memorable, of course, we had a lot of funny moments (even bumped the car to a post). Therefore, because of the activity, we realized that driving a car is not that easy, how much more if it was really a true car racing? Focus, analyzing & concentration must be 100% presents if it was. So if you live in Cebu (even outside the province), and you (or w/friends) love to drive & race (like a pro), or even just wanted something new on your usual activity on your leisure time. Then add this outdoor activity on you to do bucket list. I can guarantee, you’ll not regret trying this activity & spending your money w/ it.

Fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest. Fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy Everyone needs to exercise to achieve the perfect body that you want to have. Gym is one of the many options that can make you physically fit. My first gym is in Noemie’s Fitness Gym, located in ML Quezon Avenue, Punta Rizal Lapu-Lapu, they offer different types of exercises such as Aerobics Dance, Cardio, PRT, Boxing and Muay Thai. They also have instructor that will guide especial if you are a first timer. The price is 75 per session, they also have monthly price. The atmosphere of the place and the place itself is not crowded. Gym is open for all people adult, children, and senior citizen. Nowadays people are needs to exert more effort to maintain their body and mind physically fit. Because the food that we eat everyday is not heath as what we think it is. It can also help you to socialize and make new friends.

A hobby is a regular activity that is done for enjoyment, typically during one's leisure time. Hobbies can include collecting themed items and objects, engaging in creative and artistic pursuits, playing sports, or pursuing other amusements. As some hobbies have become less popular, like stamp collecting, others have been created following technological advances, like video games. One of my hobbies is swimming and adventure, in swimming I’m not really professional swimmer, but I really love water it makes me feel relaxed and feel like I’m one with the nature. And adventure, I love to make May life adventurous, discover new thinks, do new things, willing to take risks and be brave to face all the obstacles and struggles of life. For me the best adventure is to live your life of your dreams, not for others but for your own good. Many people have their own hobbies for past time, enjoyment and leisure. It can help them divert their attention if they have problems or there are depress. It can also help them to show their true personality and what type of life they have, and what they want to have in their life.

Garden Activities

Gardening is the practice of growing and cultivating plants as part of horticulture. In gardens, ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers. Flowers garden bloom at varying times of the year, and some plants are annual, dying each winter, the design of flower gardens can take into consideration maintaining a sequence of bloom and consistent color combinations through varying seasons Sirao is a barangay in Busay, geographically, located 17 kms from the city proper. Starting point is from JY Square, Lahug, Cebu City. The Little Amsterdam of Cebu is an 8,000-sq-meter piece of uphill land privately owned by Alfredo and Elena Sy-Chua who grew, for the longest time, celosia flowers which are harvested in time for the All Souls’ Day and Sinulog. Celosia flowers are locally known as burlas and are said to last for eight to 10 weeks. Sources say that these flowers come in yellow and red colors which are closely associated with the colors of Sto. Nino of Cebu. Elena loves the Sto. Nino so dearly that she and her husband started to plant celosia flowers on their hillside land, through the labor of their garden caretaker. The entrance fee is P30.00, Srao Garden is like a heaven of flowers, everywhere you look you will see different kinds of flowers. They also have a dwarf size coffee shop, a man made Cinderella carousel, a water mill and etc. You can also oversee the northwestern part of Cebu, take group or selfies enjoy picnic with friends or family without food corkage fee. In srao you will feel relaxed, peaceful, romantic, special etc. Gardening is considered by many people to be a relaxing activity.

Social Event Catholic Charismatic Youth Movement (CCYM) is an organization in our school campus ministry in UCLM. It is a group of people who are open to God. And by connecting each other they praise god. They enjoy the bonding with each of their members and also with the presence of god, they dance and sing for god. Members treat each other as sister and brothers and along with the priest in CCYM. As we experience as a member of this organization, they really are open minded people. They welcome you with big hug, like god wants us to be kind to every individual. Sometimes we have issues to each member, but we share this and solve it together. This organization also organizes the mass, in every mass sponsorship in every month. And also we celebrate birthdays for each members. The best gift that god gave to us is our life. In our journey, we will face many obstacles that will measure the faith that we have toward our god, there’s a time that we will lose our right pathway towards him. But always remember, god will wait, he have a big faith that all of his and her children will be back home. A home that he made, and it’s called paradise.

Cultural Event The word museum originates from Greek mythology Musa which are the goddesses of literature, art and science. a museum is an institution that conserves a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance. Many public museums make these items available for public viewing through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary. The first museum that we have been is the Museum of Dr. Jose Rizal. José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda widely known as José Rizal is one of our national hero. When we enter the museum, we see some personal things of Dr. Jose like, the book of El Filibusterismo, the coat of Dr. Jose Rizal etc. We also saw the Flag of KKK, some ancient currency and the family three of Dr. Jose Rizal from her mother and father side. People nowadays don’t know our culture really is, they put more effort to learn more about the culture of our neighboring country, they are too lazy to know more about their own culture. But when times come that you will get interested, all you have to do is visit the museum, this is the place where you can see Ancient artifact that came from our Ancient ancestor and where you can learn about our own culture.
