Jim could not help but grin due to the overwhelming sense of glee that had just spread through him and he let out a musical laugh, sounding somewhat manic in the process.
"Realised what, darling?" Jim cooed, "What to plus two is? Do you need some help with that sum?" He asked mockingly.
Contact.
Sherlette waved Joan off about an hour after the encounter with that, that…she didn’t even know what to call the man. Joan was raving on about finding a mathematician to solve the puzzle and had left to find one because she kept emphasising that there were ‘lives at risk’. Sherlette tried to reason with her by saying that lives had been at risk and lost the last three times two, but apparently this was different because there was a clue. Sherlette couldn’t argue then.
She slid her phone out of her pocket, before dialling in the number from the table and then erasing all of its traces. She heard the dialling tone and awaited an answer, all the while contemplating the puzzle before her. At the same time the page had arrived, her blog had received a mocking comment about her abilities at maths and seeing did they exist, labelled only with the signature ‘M xoxox‘

"Ahaha! And I have her in my grasp." Jim sang out loud suddenly as Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' began blaring from his pocket. "...or is this just fantassssy?" He sang along to the acapella voices, ignoring Sebastian's shaking head. As the piano entered in the song, Jim answered the call, speaking much the same as he had earlier. "Hello?" the question was clear in his voice.
He knew that it was Sherlette of course, she was the only one whoo possessed the number of this phone.

Jim turned around at the sound of light footsteps. "Ah." He said, the syllable was drawn out. "Luna, what brings you here?" He asked of his niece.

Jim laughed quietly to himself as he walked out into the thick London smog. He waited idly on the curb in front of the old hospital building, watching people go about entangled in their lives, the affairs, the lovers, the fraud and the addictions that they were all engulfed by. People. He shook his head, a spark of sadness briefly registered. They're so boring.
A horn belonging to a black mercedes brought him out of his daydream and he grinned a wide-toothed smile when he saw Sebastian in the front seat. He slipped quickly and easily into the passenger seat before they drove out into the London rush hour traffic.
"How did it go, boss?" Sebastian asked.
Jim grinned, "Oh...I'm expecting a phonecall any minute now. She has no grasp of the mathematical part of the puzzle." He laughed while rubbing his hands together with a twisted form of glee.

It was no lie, Jim had been looking forward to meeting the illustrious Sherlette Holmes for far, far too long. Now he had decided that it was time to play, and play he certainly would.
He had gotten into the IT department easily, effortlessly. Then he had gotten to Molly Hooper, all she needed was flattery. She talked endlessly about Sherlette, and Jim found he was learning more than he already knew from observations.
But now, he walked behind Molly into a lab. There was a woman standing staring at the ceiling, looking as though she was bored out of her mind. She had blond hair and a kind face, Jim instantly knew this was Joan, Joan Watson. Flatmate and probably more. His jaw tightened, but she didn’t notice, she didn’t even seem to have heard them walk in. “Joan, look.” She heard that, and she was at the other woman’s side within a second, leaning over her shoulder, examining whatever the petri dishes contained.
Was it so much to hope that it was a clue from his own latest games?
Jim had heard Sherlette’s voice before, of course they had spoken many times under different aliases, unknown to her or perhaps the other way around, she was skilled at what she did. But she was good. On the side of the angels.
“Sherl…Joan, uh…hi?” Molly stuttered beside him, shifting awkwardly. “What do you want?” Came Sherlette’s flat reply. “This is Jim. My boyfriend. From IT.”
Sherlette spun around in her chair and looked between them both, Joan wore a confused expression. “And?”
“I’ve heard a lot about you.” Jim piped up, his voice low and soft, walking forward he extended a bare arm and hand, “Nice to finally meet you.”
Sherlette stared blankly at him and didn’t move from her chair, even in response to Joan’s motion. “He’s not your boyfriend Molly.” Sherlette said quietly and quickly after a short glance and then returned to her seat.
Jim heard these words and knew Molly had too, “Pardon?”
Sherlette rolled her eyes, “I mean, nice boyfriend Molly.”
Jim realised that she wouldn’t move towards him so he moved towards her slowly, placed a hand lightly on her shoulder and leaned in close to her ear. “Jim Moriarty. Hiii.”

As Sherlette was in the process of brushing Jim's hand away, which to a point he had expected to happen, he squeezed her shoulder tightly once, feeling the jagged imprint of her collarbone on his hand before he let his hand fall away.
He couldn't help himself but to take a peek at what she was working on and he had to try and hide a smile when he saw the discoloured scrap of paper and then also a clean page where words, numbers and letters and the equation were scribbled and then crossed out, each one getting heavier on the pen imprint. He felt his chest tighten with glee as he dared to point to the page, not touching it, oh no. None of his prints were on file, except for what she had before her. He wasn't going to play so easy. "You're approaching it from the wrong angle." He whispered into her ear, smiling slyly as he noted the discomfort he was causing her. He shook his head slowly. "Molly had me believing you were some sort of genius." He mumbled, low enough only for Sherlette to hear. He gave her patronising smile, patted her on the back and walked out, nodding once at Joan and Molly.
