My second to last day in London
The closer it gets to my flight home the more I'm torn between the sadness of leaving London and the excitement of being home for the Holidays! Hopefully the snowstorm in the northeast doesn't affect my travel plans too much because I cannot wait to see my family tomorrow night!

This semester I've learned that no matter where you travel to, people will have negative viewpoints concerning New Jersey. Therefore, I've started to say that I'm from New York. The city has home and studying abroad this semester has reinforced my love for the Big Apple!

I am LOVING the Christmas spirit which is filling the air here in London! I cannot believe there is only one week left before my flight home. While I don't want to leave, the Christmas cheer is making me miss home and NYC! December is my favorite month of the year and I'm so excited to be able to experience the festivities in London and then again in NYC and my hometown when I return to the States!

I recently attended a debate in the House of Commons at Parliament. I was surprised at how easy it is for the public to be exposed to the UK's politics. While I chose an uneventful debate, I have to say it is one of my favorite memories so far!

On November 22nd I went to Afternoon Tea with NYU in London. It was at The Fan Museum in Greenwich, in their Orangery. I can't imagine living at a time where Afternoon tea was a regular event!

While Laduree stores are established in NYC and London and macarons are becoming more and more popular, I hadn't had one until I got to Paris! I'm glad I had waited because that is one more special memory I'll never forget about my experience abroad!
Fun Fact:They even serve them in McDonalds there!

While I'm not one to try new foods, I branched out in Paris and decided to try the local cuisine. Our second night there we found a cute little Bistro off of Champs-Elysees and I ordered escargot and duck! While thinking about it, I found chewing difficult. However, it was an experience and I'm glad I can say I've eaten snails in Paris!

Fall Break
Having a fall break while studying abroad is an invaluable experience. With friends, I traveled to Rome and Paris and I still cannot believe I've been there! It was a learning experience for sure! Not only did I learn about traveling basics though, I learned a lot about myself. It takes a lot of maturity and responsibility to travel around the world and it felt so weird to be doing it without my parents. I've realized that while I don't feel it, I'm getting old and this is just the beginning of a series of scary but wonderful experiences!

This weekend I went an a serious shopping spree for some much needed retail therapy! Since midterms are over and fall break is fact approaching to de-stress and stock-up was a necessity! I really miss having my mom come to NYC on the weekends to shop with me and walking along Oxford Street, bags and Starbucks in hand, I felt a little more at home. I am so surprised by the abundance of Christmas decorations about already! Halloween hasn't even passed yet! However, I absolutely love Christmas and the feeling in the air that results from the lights and the spirit so I'm not complaining! The more the merrier!
