#honestly I love the person carl chose to become#every chance he gets he tries to make someone’s life a little bit easier#he’s so driven by justice and that often leads him towards things like the police and military#but once he realizes that he can do so much more for the world when he isn’t involved with those institutions#he will truly be incredible#I wish we had gotten to see that in the show

#okay this is adorable but also#I’m the top and middle left#it’s easy to see the start of lip acting out and almost trying to get in some sort of trouble that would keep him out of college#off the good kid track his family set out for him#he’s trying to get caught he wants to get in trouble#then he would have an excuse for not applying or getting into college#it would be a way for him to both explain away any future failures as well as keep him out of situations in which he could potentially fail

#I cannot get over how stupid it was to cut this scene#literally this scene wraps up Ian’s entire 11 (!!!!) season arc#his little oh of happiness and surprise showing he finally understands that people worry about him and care for him because they love him!#it doesn’t diminish their love!! he learns that it’s okay to be taken care of! supported! worried about!!#this scene shows all that and yet they cut it!! why!!!
