COMMUNICATION – MAN & GOD 5

John 10: 27; My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Psalms chapter 23 describes how a sheep following a Shepherd enjoys leadership.

1 THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

3 He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him — not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.

4 Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

In Psalms chapter 23, we see David describe himself as a sheep and the Lord as his Shepherd. We notice that all he does is follow where the Lord leads him. He does not have to worry, cry or become anxious about anything rather he just settles down with his shepherd who makes sure he does not suffer lack.

The Lord takes David and lies him down in fresh, tender green pastures and after David has feed well, the Lord takes him to still waters to drink so that he is refreshed and restored.

The Lord leads David to take decision that will keep him in right standing with Him so David’s decision and actions are completely an outflow of his relationship with the Lord. David does nothing by the flesh or outside the leading of the Lord.

In life challenges are constant, many are the affliction of the righteous but the Lord delivers us from all of them so there will be times when we will go through the fire but we will not be burnt and there will be times when we will go through the rivers but we will not be swallowed. All these seasons are times when David walks through the deep sunless valley of the shadow of death but he has no reason to be afraid because the Lord will never leave nor forsake his sheep.

Troubles are not indication of God’s absence neither are they always a pointer of wrong direction rather they are normal in life with every believer even though God is still the one leading.

Don’t turn from God because of troubles because God never fails no matter the heat of the challenge, you will come out better.

What a beautiful life illustrated here that Christ has made available to everyone of us. Beloved, I pray you understand divine leading today in Jesus name, Amen!

Do not be part of the some that neglect church meetings. Some people have different excuse for not attending church meetings but I don’t see any excuse excusable before our text that says we should not neglect our church meetings as some do.

No employee finds excuse to purposely absent himself from work because of the consequence that follows but the same person sometimes finds excuses not to be in church because he or she feels there is no consequence like the one in the place of work.

Serving God is not inspired by consequences or punishments, the inspiration to go to church flows from the love that God first loved us and sacrifice His Son for us. When we see the Love with which we were loved by God, we are compelled to worship Him with other believers.

Excuses die in the face of love. The moment love is seen, excuses can’t stand in between because love strengthens those He touch.

See the Love of God over your life today and you will find strength to worship God with other believers.

I encourage you today to find a church around you and become committed as a member there.

Every time we see the shepherd leading the sheep, it’s never with a rope tied to their neck that forces the sheep against its will and desire but the shepherd goes ahead of the sheep while the sheep follows willingly with a desire to do everything the sheep tells it to do.

The sheep looks up to the shepherd and does all that the shepherd tells it to do.

The leading of God is never by force; God never forces any man to do His will. The leading of God is not in fear; God never creates fear so we follow Him because we are afraid of something. The leading of God is always based on love; God first loved us and we are attracted to God by His love. God sends His love to us and we just keep following that love until everyone that encounters us tastes nothing but that same love and also joins in following the same God we are following.

The love of God forgave us while we were still sinners. The Love of God did not wait for us to turn away from our sin before forgiving us but He forgave us and showed us that we are forgiven if we will accept His love. The only reason we remain condemned is if we reject His Love. The moment we accept His love, we become forgiven of every sin we ever committed. His love wiped away our sin. The moment we accept His love, we become transformed by His love into exactly His Love so that we are able to hear and understand when He is speaking to us.

Now that His Love has transformed us into His love, we stand at the same place where He stands so we are able to follow Him as He leads us. He just goes in front and we willingly joyfully follow Him.

Now that God Himself resides in you, nothing can stop you from hearing God. You only need to grow in understanding Him to understand His voice.

PROPHETIC ASSURANCE FOR MAY

Eph 2:10 For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. AMP

Welcome to the month of May.

It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. It is by His mercies that we are not consumed for His mercies endure forever.

When we look at the name of the month literally, it does not give any hope but keeps one wondering if it will turn out for good or for bad but the moment we came into Christ, we broke all uncertainties and entered into the reality of God’s promise so our life is not under probability, we are sure it will turn out for our good. We do not live based on natural pointers but our lives are orchestrated by divine design.

We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works so in this month of May everything we will do will be good works in the name of Jesus, Amen!

The good works have been defined so we do not need the natural definition or standard of good works.

The good works are not works we just decide to do on our own. The good works are not works that we found ourselves doing. The good works are not works that circumstances or conditions made us do. The good works are not works that someone encouraged us to do. The good works does not have its inspiration or source from this earth but from above.

The good works are works that God planned for us to do before we were born (beforehand). The good works are works that God predestined for us.

Beloved, God has already prepared all that you will do from birth to death on earth. Months can change but your destiny cannot change. Years can change but your destiny cannot change. Seasons can change but your destiny cannot change.

No matter what changes, there is a good life which God has prearranged and made ready for you to live.

Many people wonder through life and never find it, but I pray for you that by the inspiration & direction of the Holy Spirit, you will find it in the name of Jesus.

You are not destined to just go through life as a victim and at the mercy of conditions and circumstances, no! There is a life God has prearranged for you and you will find that life this month of May in the name of Jesus, Amen!

SATAN’S STARTEGY FAILED! – HIS LIES! (4)

Matt 2:8-15 Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, Go and search for the Child carefully and diligently, and when you have found Him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship Him. When they had listened to the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which had been seen in the east in its rising went before them until it came and stood over the place where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they were thrilled with ecstatic joy. And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts — gold and frankincense and myrrh. And receiving an answer to their asking, they were divinely instructed and warned in a dream not to go back to Herod; so they departed to their own country by a different way. Now after they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Get up! [Tenderly] take unto you the young Child and His mother and flee to Egypt; and remain there till I tell you [otherwise], for Herod intends to search for the Child in order to destroy Him. There are marks that help you point the voice of God but even before you talk about the marks, you have to become His sheep because only His sheep can identify and hear His voice.

There is something about being His sheep that gives you access that others do not possess. Even if you know the marks of His voice without being His sheep, you will still lack the access to understand and decode His voice.

The ingredient that makes up His voice is the same ingredient that makes up His sheep so only His sheep can hear His voice and distinguish His voice from all others ranging very loudly.

I need to emphasize that even if you understand the marks of His voice and you are not His sheep, you will still find it difficult to identify His voice because you lack the main ingredient, the primary element, the foundation that knows His voice.

The scribes could tell where Jesus was to be born but they could never get to Jesus. King Herod was told of the reality of Jesus but could never get to Jesus. He could never identify Jesus so he began to kill every baby less than two years hoping he will also kill Jesus but the Devil is not omniscience so he missed it.

This is where lots of people are today. They can describe the thing, they know it’s real but they can never get it because only the master can take you there.

You will hear the master’s voice when you become exactly like the master, in His very image and likeness.

Jesus said my sheep hear my voice; He was pointing us to the relationship a shepherd has with his sheep. The shepherd is a human being but the sheep is an animal and the animal is able to understand what the human being is saying even though the human being isn’t an animal. This is a mystery!

A relationship has been built between the animal (sheep) and the human being (shepherd) so that they understand each other and are able to relate with each other. The secret of their understanding each other is in their relationship.

The wise men in the bible are called wise because they study the stars, moon, and other planets. They did not just rise up to see a star moving and began to follow; they already understood stars so when they saw this star, they understood it and followed it.

The Holy Spirit teaches us Christ so we can understand Him and obey his voice. The moment we begin a relationship with the Lord, His Spirit comes to live in us and begins to teach us who Christ is so we can understand Him and relate with Him.

The sons of God are led by the spirit of God because the spirit of God dwells in every son of God. The Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are sons of God.

We are able to identify the voice of God by His Spirit dwelling in us. We can hear several voices but we can only identify the voice of God by His Spirit in us.

The lie of the devil was beaten because of two points I won’t want you to miss;

1) They could hear God. 2) They obeyed God.

I like to ask a question today; do you hear God?

Many believers go to pastors and prophets just because they believe that these people are closer to God so they will hear from God for them about their own lives. I do not despise grace and gifts but every child knows the voice of his father and can differentiate it from that of a stranger.

Jesus said in John 10: 27; My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

We must all understand that God desires to speak to everyone. God does not put out things to do before He will speak to anyone, no, regardless of who the person is or what the person has done, God’s desire is to be able to speak one on one with everyone in this world. There is no one existing that God does not desire to speak to one on one.

Even if the entire world has rejected you, God still wants to speak to you. Even if you have committed the worse thing on earth, God still wants to speak to you. No man can do what will kill God’s desire to speak with him or her.

The problem is not about God speaking but the issue is in your court; can you identify God’s voice? Understand what I am saying; God is speaking to you even now where you are but can you identify His voice?

The issue is not about God speaking but the one He is speaking to being able to identify His voice! When we identify His voice then we can listen to Him!

Right now there are voices all passing through your mind as thoughts & pictures. You encounter voices through circumstances and other people speaking to you in person. You encounter voices through dreams and visions. You encounter voices through Angelic Visitation.

In all these instances I talked about, the personality behind the voice could be your natural imagination, the devil or God. One is always behind the voice so being able to identify the personality behind the voice is very important and crucial to hearing the voice of God. TUNE IN TOMMORROW FOR THE CONTINUATION!

King Herod told the wise men that they should go and search for the child and return to tell him so that he too can also worship Him but this was a lie, his intention was to kill the child since he was threatened that the child would become the next king.

Lie is one strategy the enemy will always use. The devil tells lies to make his victim feel comfortable with him and not suspect his evil plans so he can strike when no one expects.

The devil’s major trade is to lie in order to deceive men but God knows the end from the beginning so no matter what the devil does, he can never beat God!

God who knew the intentions of Herod warned the wise men in a dream not to go back to Herod; so they departed to their own country by a different way.

God also knew that the devil will not rest so He sent an Angel to instruct Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt with the mother and child.

The lies of the devil was beaten because of two points I won’t want you to miss;

1) They could hear God. 2) They obeyed God.

Just like this case, every believer face the same devil who has the same plans to destroy us but God who already knows the plans of the devil will speak to us expecting that we hear and obey like Joseph did.

The big question is; how much of attention have we given to God so we can hear Him? how much trust do we have in God to obey Him?

One prayer you should offer is that God will expose the intentions of wickedness the very moment they come to you with sweet words but much more important is that you will hear God when He is speaking to you and you will obey all He will say to you.

Beginning from the day you became Born Again, you became a mystery living on earth. John 3:8; The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit. No man can code or decode you and the devil with the entire kingdom of darkness can’t code or decode so they can’t touch your star.

Col 3:4; When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Christ is now our life therefore Christ is now our star so we are the expression of the bright and morning star. We live on earth as the day star whose glory can be compared to no other.

Eph 2:10; For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. We have been recreated by God not in our natural person but now in Christ Jesus. We now walk in our destined path ordained by God not just as any natural man but our destined path in Christ Jesus shinning as the light of the world through the light of the world.

The moment you became Born Again, you relocated to Christ so although you operate in this physical world, you are not from this world and you are not part of this world so this world or their god cannot touch your star. Eph 2:5-6 Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Jesus is seated far above every principality and power therefore, you are also seated far above every principality and power.

I challenge you to believe God’s word today, your star is Jesus!

SATAN’S STARTEGY FAILED! – YOUR STAR!

Matt 2:8-15 Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, Go and search for the Child carefully and diligently, and when you have found Him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship Him. When they had listened to the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which had been seen in the east in its rising went before them until it came and stood over the place where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they were thrilled with ecstatic joy. And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts — gold and frankincense and myrrh. And receiving an answer to their asking, they were divinely instructed and warned in a dream not to go back to Herod; so they departed to their own country by a different way. Now after they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Get up! [Tenderly] take unto you the young Child and His mother and flee to Egypt; and remain there till I tell you [otherwise], for Herod intends to search for the Child in order to destroy Him. And having risen, he took the Child and His mother by night and withdrew to Egypt and remained there until Herod's death. When Jesus was born, a star appeared to direct the wise men to Jesus. These wise men were actually astrologers; those who study the moon, sun and other planets. A star did not just appear for the general public to see but the star was a message to the astrologers because they had the capacity to understand stars and follow them so they followed this star until they arrived where Jesus was born.

They knew by their understanding that this star meant a king was born. There is nowhere in the bible where the star was used to inform anyone of the birth of a person and Jesus is the only day star, the bright and morning star, and the Star of David.

The kingdom of darkness use the star as their symbol (Acts 7:43) but this is an effort to counterfeit the original, theirs is complete evil that bows at the name of Jesus.

Rev 8:11 tells us the name of the star that fell down is Wormwood, this made a third part of the waters bitter and many men died of the water. This is the name of another star the bible revealed. 1 Cor 15:41; There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. KJV

It is very clear that all stars are not the same, they all differ in glory but we must understand that it is the deceit of the devil to make you begin to do star gazing. It is the trick of the devil to make you begin to pray to stars or any particular one.

I hear people say things like they stole my star or they covered my star not to shine or they exchanged my star or they destroyed my star and they tie all this talk to the star of Jesus but this is to deceive many and keep them wondering at the wrong thing till they miss out by their foolishness. 1Cor 15b is misinterpreted to deceive many.

As long as you are Born Again, you are now Christ’s; Ac 17:28; For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Col 3:3; For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Gal 2:20; I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

If we understand that Christ is now the one living in us then, we can’t be talking about our star again because we died. We should be talking about the star of Jesus who now lives in us and we live in Him.

Understand this mystery about yourself; you live in Christ and Christ lives in you so you are all about Christ therefore you are an offspring of the Star of David so you shine in the daytime and night time. You cannot be hidden because you are the light of the world. You are not hiding from anything as all things submit to you!

No one can touch and tamper with your star because your star is Jesus!

CHRIST’S EPISTLE

EVEN UNDER PAIN, JOB WOULD NOT CURSE GOD.

Job 2:7-10 So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord and smote Job with loathsome and painful sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself, and he sat [down] among the ashes. Then his wife said to him, Do you still hold fast your blameless uprightness? Renounce God and die! But he said to her, You speak as one of the impious and foolish women would speak. What? Shall we accept [only] good at the hand of God and shall we not accept [also] misfortune and what is of a bad nature? In [spite of] all this, Job did not sin with his lips. AMP

Satan struck Job with sickness; his body from his head to the sole of his foot was filled with painful sores. It is easy to bear the loss of wealth and children but not with health. Job did not curse God but took a broken pottery to scrape himself while he sat among ashes. He is a human so he will be affected emotionally but he never cursed God.

Since Satan was at work in his house, she must have influenced the wife and then his wife said to him, Do you still hold fast your blameless uprightness? Renounce God and die!

When you look at the statement, you see clearly that it was not about his allegiance to God but Satan was looking for the easiest way to kill Job. Satan had found a man that did exactly as God boasted and he could not stand it but he could not kill Job because God did not allow him so he influenced the wife to provoke Job to his own death. Job’s wife should have asked the husband to renounce God and look for help elsewhere but she was under the influence of the one whose target was death so she told her husband renounce God and die.

A lot of times when people read this statement, they see Job’s wife as acting on her own but she was speaking under the influence of Satan. Beloved, check who is speaking before you act. The same Satan was rebuked by Jesus in Peter which points us that Satan influences men and uses them for his purposes.

Job replied his wife; “You speak as one of the impious and foolish women would speak. What? Shall we accept [only] good at the hand of God and shall we not accept [also] misfortune and what is of a bad nature?”

Job did not curse God even when he came under pressure from his circumstance neither did he curse God when he came under pressure from his wife. In [spite of] all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

Beloved, what attack are you facing, it is not time to deny God. It is not time to turn away from God. It is not time to stop being committed to God. You might not understand everything, just hold on like Job and keep worshipping God.

THE LORD DOES NOT GIVE AND TAKE

Job 1:12-22 So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. And there was a day when [Job's] sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house [on his birthday], and there came a messenger to Job and said, The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans swooped down upon them and took away [the animals]. Indeed, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you. While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, The fire of God (lightning) has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you. While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, The Chaldeans divided into three bands and made a raid upon the camels and have taken them away, yes, and have slain the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you. While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, And behold, there came a great [whirlwind] from the desert, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you. Then Job arose and rent his robe and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshiped and said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother's womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord! In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. AMP

Satan did not spare Job a day, in a space of about an hour; he unleashed terrible mayhem on Job.

There are very few people who will still have any reason to live after this kind of terrible event but Job stands out. His heart was focused not on any of his belongings or children but on God.

Naturally, Job was touched and like every normal human, he mourned. Job arose and rent his robe and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshiped and said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother's womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart.

Even in his mourning, you can’t miss out his worshipping attitude. He was mourning yet he still worshipped God. Am sure at this point, the Lord watching will be saying; “I told Satan, Job won’t deny me” if you read further also you will notice that Satan looked for what to do again to make him deny God.

I do not want to miss out Job’s statement; The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord! In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. This was a statement that submits everything to God and stays with the will of God but looking deeper, the Lord did not give and take because it was not the Lord that took away what he gave Job but Satan.

The Lord does not tempt and God is not the author of confusion so it was not the Lord that unleashed mayhem on Job’s house but in the Old Testament people generally attributed everything to God whether good or evil and also Job was not seeing the whole picture like we are seeing now so it was in this light that Job made the statement but today we have better light so we understand that the Lord will never give and take.

We must learn from Job who worshipped God without blaming Him even in the midst of his agony.

SUNDAY SPECIAL – CHURCH ATTENDANCE

HEBREWS 10:25

TLB Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near. Welcome to another beautiful time in Christ, in Him we live and move and have our being.

Today is a special study to help believers see the biblical view of belonging to a particular local assembly (a church where you will be nourished and encouraged to grow) Our scripture taken from the living bible version hits the nail on the head by saying let us not neglect our church meetings. To neglect refers to an attitude that does not give the required attention. It is an attitude that shows indifference about a matter. The bible enjoins us not to live our life in such a manner that we do not give the church proper attention. We must not show indifference when it concerns the church. We live in times when lots of new ways and thinking have surfaced without any biblical base. Many today sit at home, watch live church services online and tell everyone they also went to church. As good as that may look, virtual presence can never be the same as real human presence. One of the essences of fellowship is for people to relate with each other as a community of like-minded believers. There is no way people can truly relate with each other in the sense which was planned by God when they all attend Church online so this goes contrary to divine order. I do not mean that you can’t watch services that will be a blessing to your soul online regularly but when this becomes your church, you have gone against scriptures. You have begun to neglect your church meetings. Not neglecting your church meetings means that you personally attend church services. One truth you can’t miss today is that attending a church is not about choice but about obedience to scriptures.

This particular series SUNDAY SPECIAL will come up ONLY ON SUNDAYS. We encourage you to look out every Sunday as we believe that God will minister to you.

The servant who reported the last incident had barely finished when another servant came in with the report of another incident and said, the Chaldeans divided into three bands and made a raid upon the camels and have taken them away, yes, and have slain the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.

Satan entered the Chaldeans with a strategy that successfully stole all the camels of Job and worse off, they killed more of his servants. In this case, the Chaldeans were the tools the devil used.

The other servant had barely finished when another ran in with the report of another incident and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, And behold, there came a great [whirlwind] from the desert, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you.

Satan used a whirlwind from the desert to destroy the house where the children of Job were dinning together and he killed all the children.

In one day and in a space of a very short time, Satan with God’s permission touched Job’s house and destroyed his wealth and children so that Job will curse God and turn from following Him.

Satan had boasted that Job followed God only because of those things so God allowed Satan take all those things away knowing that Job will never deny Him even when those things were taken away.

Beloved, no one can surprise God. No other one is omnipotent, omnipresence and omniscience. No other one created the future but God so it is completely impossible to surprise the one that created the event and the moment. There is no news with God!

Job was not told he was going through a test because that remains the nature of tests from God so the events were not expected neither were they sweet. The events brought nothing but shock, surprise, pain, grief and all manner of negative feelings but Job reacted without cursing God. Join me on Monday as we continue on this issue.

Beloved, one thing that must not escape your understanding is that all that Satan did to Job was permitted by God which means that anytime God wants to test any person, He will permit Satan to carry out the test. Satan is minister of trial and temptation under God.

UNDERSTANDING THE DEVIL IN JOB’S CASE 6

Job 1:6-12 Now there was a day when the sons (the angels) of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan (the adversary and accuser) also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, From where did you come? Then Satan answered the Lord, From going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. And the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who [reverently] fears God and abstains from and shuns evil [because it is wrong]? Then Satan answered the Lord, Does Job [reverently] fear God for nothing? Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face. And the Lord said to Satan (the adversary and the accuser), Behold, all that he has is in your power, only upon the man himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. AMP

Satan told the Lord that Job served Him faithfully because of all that He had blessed him with, in other words, if those things were not there, Job would depart from the Lord. The Lord was too sure that even though Job was rich, his heart was not in the riches but in the Lord so he allowed Satan to try Job.

Satan told the Lord to touch all that Job had; “But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.”

Every one of us must understand that the Lord does not temp and cannot be tempted so the only one that tempts and can be tempted is Satan so Satan is the minister that carries out such assignment so the Lord said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power, only upon the man himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

The Lord permitted Satan to touch all that Job had but did not permit any further. The Lord drew a line for Satan so Job’s life was preserved by the Lord but all he had was open for Satan to access.

One point I want to stress here is that Satan is not as powerful as many perceive him to be. We can all see that even though he was going up and down the earth, he could not touch Job with all his boasting because he could not breakthrough the covering of God on Job’s life and property until God removed that covering Himself for the devil to have access.

Beloved, stop living under the bondage of fear of the devil. Living under fear is living in ignorance. The devil can boast but cannot do what God has not permitted him to do. The devil is a minister of God so he is under control. The devil is going up and down the earth under the control of God.

Another very important point you will notice here is that the Lord pointed out Job to Satan. The Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job? This might sound strange but this is true.

This is why I said the fear of the devil is useless. If the devil could take Job away from the Lord and finish him, there is no way the Lord will be pointing anyone to Satan but the Lord knows that Satan cannot do more what he is permitted to do.

Satan replied; Does Job [reverently] fear God for nothing? Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

It is clear that Satan had not only noticed Job but he had investigated Job thoroughly and tried him but found out that the Lord had put a hedge about him, his house and his business on every side.

Satan must have tried to touch Job’s prosperity and happiness only to find out that it was not a product of his strength but a blessing from God. Satan found out that the Lord had conferred prosperity and happiness upon Job in the work of his hands.

Satan must have tried to stop Job from experiencing increase but found out that Job’s increase in the land was a function of God.

When we read the story of Job, his fears did not see all that Satan saw. His fears imagined the wrong thing happening to him because his fear was not from God. His fear was an introduction of Satan who was trying to break him and bring him down but while he was afraid, Satan could not still do him anything until the Lord permitted him.

Beloved, Satan cannot touch you or anything that concerns you unless the Lord allows him and the Lord will not allow him until you are able to withstand him.
