the red keep has been on high alert since the welcoming festival resulted in an attempt on princess vaelenora's life. plagued with worry for the well being of her beloved sister, queen vaella has yet to make a public appearance. but this good morn, her grace arrived to find the youngest of house velaryon awake and in good spirits. . . prompting the queen to summon nobles from their quarters to the throne room for an announcement.

" with our dear princess in good health again, i believe it time we resume our celebrations ! i welcome you all to join our festivities in honor of my heir, prince vaelyx of house velaryon. throughout the city and within the castle grounds, you will find a plethora of activities to return you to childhood wonder. the men of the city watch have been instructed to open the gates, allowing you free roam of the kingswood and the shores of blackwater bay where you will find we spared no inch of lands within our proximity to host an activity. each night shall culminate in a feast, with promises that everyone will leave the hall without need for the grand maester to accompany them. . . let the celebrations begin ! "

and so it begins. some of the things you can expect to find throughout the city are: nightly horse races on the street of sisters, plays put on by the commonfolk throughout the city, booths to seek out one's future, to create exquisite floral arrangements and flower crowns, artisans commissioned to create beautiful works before your very eyes, bards on every corner to grace your ears with poetry and song. the gardens of the red keep have been furnished to fit a grand maze that within lies a scavenger hunt. one must find the hidden sigil of the queen's house: an expertly carved stone seadragon no bigger than a chess piece. as a prize, each day, the winner will be presented to the royal family at the nightly feast for a dance with the queen herself or even prince vaelyx. there will be a joust, a hunt, and perhaps more competitions as the weeks go on. but, the queen is to ensure that her guests will enjoy themselves. everything is on the crown's dime.

even vaella herself wants to get in on the celebrations. by clicking here, you may request a moment of her grace's time for whatever purpose she may serve. she is more than excited to share the company of her noble guests.

tags for the festival will be posted with each update, but generally, jesters.festival should cover everything ! this event shall see us to the end of our nobles' stay in king's landing. it is well known that queen vaella spares no expense for extravagance. out of character, this event will begin january 15 and end february 25. however, in character, this event shall take place over the course of four months as our beloved prince solidifies his claim to the throne by choosing a spouse. there will be updates from the main regarding how much time has passed between the initial announcement and the next progression of the festivities. much more will be revealed as time goes on. enjoy while you still can !
