my final design boards-
overall I personally loved this unit and the more textile based of it, these are my final design boards and I loved how they all fitted together and the range of different media’s and diversities throughout is what I think I loved focusing on for this unit. I think you can see a clear link the Chatsworth House and my inspirations from the photos in my portfolio.

The process-
This is the process of trying different design ideas to make my boards fully stand out but still showcase each individual design perfectly. I loved messing around with different pages of my sketchbook and deciding on some of my favourite designs…

These are some of the pages I added into my book itself as i had a few left over designs but I wanted to still incorporate them as it was important to showcase the journey throughout the sketchbook. I wanted to incorporate my idea around my faces as well and I loved the final look of these pages.

My final design boards-
This is one of my final design boards, in my design board I wanted to continue the theme of a more sketchy but scrapbook style which flowed throughout my book. Therefore I decided to photo copy some of my favourite pages in my book as the background. I wanted to incorporate my print in there as well due to it being a vocal point of this unit. Overall I loved how these all turned out and think it made my vision come all together….

My final prints-
In these prints I have shown 3 different techniques as i wanted to showcase a range of all different types of style. My design is very sketchy so i wanted to make sure i kept that theme running throughout.I love the way they all turned out and looked as a finished result.

This look is taking my love for the ceiling design and Chatsworth and making it showcase in the garment as I wanted to base at least one of my designs around it due to my print being largely inspired by it as well. I loved the idea of using it as a headpiece as well as I think it makes the look really cool and different.

I really loved the repeating print over the lining in the back of the skirt due to me thinking it looks really effective and quite unique in style. I like how vibrant the colours are and the usage of my colour pallets and I think it will look nice next to my other designs as well.

This look I used the media of watercolour to showcase a range of all different usages in this collection as well as a range of different diversities. In this look it is more on the extreme side due to me focusing on the butterfly wings and wanting to make it more interesting rather than simpler due to us not having to make this garment.

These two designs are showcasing the nature factor of Chatsworth House and I used the media’s of watercolour and pastels. In this the purple look is to be more based on the cocoon of a butterfly and is a lot more simplistic. The pastel look I wanted to represent the leaves of Chatsworth Gardens and I really liked the final look of the pastels.

These 2 designs are very bright and I used a new media this time being pencil pastels to help make the right look really come to life and showcase that idea of it being based off the nature that surrounds Chatsworth House and how I can make my idea look good and put together.

In this design I used pro- markers to make the colours really be vibrant and be really unique in style. I wanted it to be really simple due to some of my designs being quite extreme therefore it is always nice to balance it out with a more simpler design. Overall, I really loved the final product of this look and I think the face really adds to the design to make them more my style.

In this link you can read about the history of Picasso and also it dates and goes into detail about some of Picasso's most famous pieces which I think look really in detail also it talks about his most famous techniques such as Cubism in detail. Picasso's work I think is largely underrated and is to a required taste where people either love it or hate it.

Pablo Picasso.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have decided for this unit to not only zoom into fashion illustrators but also to research in famous artists such as Picasso himself who is widely known for his more unique style of art. Picasso was a famous Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer. One of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage and for a wide variety of styles that he helped discover and explore. I personally chose to take a large inspiration from this artists as it ties together a style which I love due to its complex shapes and usage of colour. In a clash to my more dainty and pretty garment designs I think a more messier 'ugly' look to the faces would be a interesting twist. I will try and showcase my range of race in these designs to truly make it represent my diversity.....
