This is my original research which helped me figure out my take on my question, which was that we have to use new technology instead of banishing it

Original sketches from quick exercise. Chose to combine some of the ideas into one, such as the cogs, with the spread out letters, and the code writing to create a design machine almost. I really had a vision in my head after this exercise so i didnt need to experiment much with other ideas.

I moved up my abstract to line up with the bottom of the page better, still need to align it to the upper lines though. Added in an extra faded line above Auto to fill some space (also tested the little dots but forgot to screenshot).

Had to take out the bottom code, but decided to put my abstract in a code-style, which fits with my automation and technology theme. I feel like there is too much blank space now

Feedback
Received feedback on my poster by Aafika and realized i forgot to leave room for my abstract. Will be removing some cogs to make room.

I found through experimenting that just adding black to the base colour is a better gradient on Ilustrator than using the gradient feature to black. I highlighted the center squares as it is more visually interesting than top to bottom, and makes it stand it from the page more and look more 3D.

Created digital shape versions of the dotted lines as i found the time. I think it looks cleaner and more digital, but is too stark from the background.

Created some quick digital drawings of designs for the dotted digital lines i liked until i have time to make them from shapes. Added some more filler code, but using key words that are important to my research such as customization and adapt.

Moved around some of the cogs into better positions, im still not sure if its too many i will ask for help on this.

Put in the words “AUTOMATION” in a code font to work in with the digital theme, and tried out the cog as the O, which i like but needs some fine tuning as its a bit wonky. I also added some filler code up the top, where i am to add in the message i will be trying to portray. Im testing out some gradient lines but again cant seem to make them blend well with the black.

Added some inspiration images next to my working image to give inspiration, im trying to create a pink blur similar to the top left corner but cannot seem to make it work. I will come back to this.

Created silhouettes of my cogs that i made analogue, and set them in neon pink like most of my reference images. I think they look really unique and work well with mixing art and machine. I also think this works with the premise of my essay, as the way we have to adapt is by combining physical with digital together. I tested out brush strokes but i am not a fan and is too practical looking.
