so i watched Dracula the mini-series and dear god it's all i can think about now, especially the relationship between Dracula and Agatha and it's just ahhhhh i love them! the banter, the teasing, The hard to deny connection between them is just so amazing!

Being in a lecture teaching us about different therapeutic approaches such as mindfulness and taking breaks, and your hands are shaking from anxiety while you're taking notes because of how much work you have to do... Mental health students really sacrifice their own mental health to later be able to help others with theirs. It's ironic...

Thinking about Dracula

His unconventional attractiveness, which lies in his dark eyes, thick brows and natural signs of ageing. A being who fears death, yet is unafraid of his body showing signs of life. Ironic. Tragic. Him.

His charisma, sharp wit and quick tongue, his gaslighting techniques which you only notice months or years after he's used them on you, so thorough is he in his games. He's playing 4D chess, and you think you are too, until you look down at the board and realise you're playing checkers.

By then, he's already taken the Queen.

That smirk, the way he can perversely represent how God brought him into the world by birthing himself from a wolf, a wild territorial, beautiful and misunderstood creature... You wonder if this irony escapes him, too.

He never shouts, yet even in his silence, he is loud. He is always three steps ahead, and if you think he's behind, that's because it's what he wants you to think. In reality, a gilded cage is still a cage, and you are little more than a convenience meal. You love him still.

He practices restraint, yet freely dines, he freely takes that which is offered to him. Consent doesn't matter, but it is delicious, so he seeks it out when he cares about you. If he doesn't, he takes the option to give consent away from you. Like many a victim, you will die screaming and begging for him to stop... All the while, feeling the blood leaving your body, questioning if you even want him to stop.

Knowing you never would.

Loving him, missing him, worshipping him, knowing all along that you can't measure up to him and his greatness, but being unable to stop yourself.

If love is looking at the face of your beloved, and if this is basking in the sunlight, then you are happy to burn. You are happy to step into the light Dracula so fears and spends centuries trying to outrun, and you will take a moment to grab his hand and help him face his truths.

"Beautiful," he says, as his face turns towards the sun like a sunflower on a windowsill.

He is, you think, feeling his cold hands envelope yours.

His truth is his irony, his irony is his tragedy, and you love him still.

I'm so happy you found a good job, that's amazing! I'm now in year five of my six year degree, I finally moved out of my parents' place and I'm still at my housekeeping job but actively looking for work experience alongside my degree. Hopefully I can get a job doubling as work experience, or I have to try to balance my degree, my job AND work experience...💀
