i will give conjuring: last rites something and it is that the idea of a reality-warping demon being down to violently murder everyone its target has ever loved but only lightly throwing the family dog at the wall is like. hysterical. set a chick up to get axe murdered and gave another guy a heart attack but the dog gets gently tossed out of the way. it may be a demon but it has standards!!

my review of conjuring: last rites, as someone who has never seen a conjuring movie before (...& had to cover his eyes several times because. doll phobia), is that it was mid as hell and i genuinely nearly fell asleep during it. Now this may have had something to do with the 5 cocktails I had beforehand,

i think the problem with wednesday boils down to this: it’s a normal netflix teen drama about highschool reskinned with an addams family aesthetic. that’s it. it doesn’t really understand the addams family. like oh morticia’s sister “went mad” and disappeared from the family? you know what that means to me? that she married a nice man and moved to the suburbs. they have 2.5 kids and she dresses in pastels. you can’t have this “watch out don’t use your powers we had to commit your aunt the powers turned her mad” and then have fester “gets himself committed for fun” addams played by fred armisen having a young wednesday be his get away driver in the same episode. the tonal dissonance kills it. youre telling me pugsley has a PET ZOMBIE and he’s not DYING to show it off to his sister and his parents?????? like seriously who is writing this damn show. it just bothers me so much like you got the go ahead to revive the addams family and the kids at an age we haven’t seen and you’re wasting it.
