Happy Eclipse Day! 😂
We won't be observing outside, as the kids would probably never keep glasses on, but we'll be setting up my tripod and streaming it to our tv through remote :) Should be fun!

Lots of fall things happening around here! I've been bad at keeping up here. I've been super busy doing commissioned projects. I have 6 paintings shipping off tomorrow, and I have 2 new orders as of today. It's been pretty incredible really, bc I haven't been adding new work to my shop at all. I've just had the good fortune of having people come to me recently. I'm very grateful! I'm kind of looking forward to slowing down though, bc I have some new ideas I really want to explore. 💕 Had a great day today. I had lunch with Mom and I went to get some of Gage's pre-k curriculum. Jay had his scans at Moffitt this week too, so that's always a relief to get a good report! God is good ALL of the time. Here's to a good weekend! Cheers!

Growing boy!
It's 11 am and my 4 year old has had 2 pieces of toast and FOUR scrambled eggs. He's getting soooo big. I can't keep him in clothes and shoes. He's wearing size 6 pants and shirts despite being so thin and he's in a size 12 shoe. That's huge for a 4 year old. Size doesn't necessarily mean much when they are little, but he is built so much like his daddy I'd be shocked if he wasn't a big ole guy. I'm kind of regretting not putting him in 4K this year. He talks about going to school all the time. I guess I just wanted to send Harper with him next year. I think she needs the social interaction more than he does. He's doing great though. He's writing well, and he has a pretty general interest in most things. He seems to have good concentration, and a desire to "do well" at things. We were writing numbers this morning and he erases them and starts over if he thinks he can do it better. I like that about him.. He doesn't mind putting in the extra time or work to do it right. He's that way with cleaning his room and most things he does. I think Harper is going to be my free spirit who struggles more in those ways. I guess it's hard to say at this age. But they are both perfectly different and a pleasure to be around. Very proud of these little ones. They are growing up so quickly.

I'm actually having a meal in peace and quiet by myself. The kids pods and new shag rug have proven to be priceless. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

It's almost fall, y'all. Sam's had tons of CK sweatpants today. I'm not a CK fan but these are the softest sweats I have ever felt in my life. I got every color.

Done.
Well, we just picked out my new wedding band. I decided I want to wait on a new set for a few years bc I honestly don't know what I want, I just don't like everyday jewelry very much. I like costume jewelry occasionally, but for everyday I actually just want a nice band. I may eventually have my current set melted down for Harper or something. But I decided on a mahogany wooden and white gold band. The platinum was a little less, but I want the gold. I don't know why, but I love the look of mahogany jewelry. I think I can pick it up Wednesday, bc they obviously don't carry my size. I have a freakishly tiny 5.25 ring finger. 😂 I love it. I'm sure I'll eventually do a traditional set, but not until I know what I really want. I'll be glad to have something that doesn't bother me. I have boney fingers and my rings really drive me crazy. 👍🏼👌🏼🤗

Happy Tuesday!
Today is kinda the beginning of our weekend :-) Gary's off and doesn't go back until Friday! Yay. I'm really loving his new schedule. Took us a minute, but it's pretty great. I like having some weekdays off bc we get a lot done and stores aren't so crowded etc. We're headed to Lowes to pick up wood. We're starting on our new kitchen island tomorrow. 🤗🤗🤗 I can't wait! I know Gary really wants our same granite top, but we aren't going to live here forever. I want this to be something we can take with us, even if it's repurposed later. I think I just want like a plantation style too with a shelf or two. I want it really, really simple. Almost like a large credenza. So that's how we're gonna spend our day tomorrow. I'm on a leaning frenzy today. Taking a break for coffee 👌🏼👍🏼

Gage woke up with a tummy ache about 3 am. He's eating a lot right now and he's so tall and thin. Growth spurts. But he nuzzled up to my neck and whispered "I love you my whole heart, Mommy. You make me feel better. You my best friend." -melted-

Totally made all 4 miles with the kids by myself today. Glad I bought a smaller backpack. It went great! We stopped twice for water, but kept it moving. 👌🏼👍🏼

Nap time.
I really, really need a nap. We shopped our butts off today. We ended up going to the new mall, Target, and Sams after we went to kohls. The kids were so sweet and well mannered. Then we went to 3 steakhouses tXa and none of them opened until 3pm. I always forget places do that on Friday. I wanted Texas Roadhouse so bad. We just stopped at Mama's kitchen and grabbed a good meal. It's probably the best local place we have around here, but I sure wanted prime rib. 😂😂😂 So anyway.. we ate so early that we're actually considering going out for a light breakfast after we take a little family nap. I'm just not up to cooking today. I'm having some pain from my rotator cup injury. I think I just slept wrong but it hurts pretty bad. I'm just loving having my hubby home ❤️💕

Happy Thursday :-)
Had a lot of company today. That’s always nice even when it’s unexpected. Nicole stopped by with her daughter and brought me some sunflowers, Mom stopped by this afternoon to bring me some watercolors she found on sale at Michael’s and some cute happiest for the kids, Jay stopped by to bring me an Otterbox he found for my phone and my neighbor came over to bring me my mail in her box. LOL It kinda felt like Christmas. I sent everyone back with spaghetti and meatballs. 😂😂😂

My brother has had a rough time mentally with his cancer this week. I think approaching the 5 year mark is both encouraging and scary for him. But I’m glad to see him vocalizing it. Even if it is on Facebook. I’ve felt his depression recently and I see it on his face. I do agree, a celebration will be in order soon. He will also celebrate his 5 years of quitting smoking and sobriety. He has completely changed his life in order to be as healthy as he can possibly be in this fight. I couldn’t be more proud of him. It takes a lot of courage to wake up everyday and try to be as normal as possible considering his prognosis. He’s come so far. Every single day I pray for God’s mercy and miracles. But we’re very aware that cancer doesn’t pick a life based on trying. Every day is a gift. Every day that he is here with us, we are thankful.
“Watching these reports on John McCain is really tough for me. They keep showing the statistics and prognoses (yes, that is the plural) which I’m aware of buy try not to think about. His is the same as mine, a glioblastoma, but I don’t know what stage his is or the exact location. I guess it shouldn’t matter since I’m aware of the stats and any publicity for it is a good thing. I’m at 4 years, 6 months and only 10% make it 5 years. If the 5 year mark is hit, a party will be held and everyone is invited.” -Jay
