Slow But Steady Artistic Progress
I know I’ve shared this on my instagram and my blog, but I forgot to share here too. This is just a quick redraw I did to see how I’ve improved over the last year.
Here’s the original drawing:
Yeah, not bad but not great. I didn’t really understand how shadows worked, or proportions, or hair. Or pretty much anything that made my art look nice.
And here’s the redraw lineart and colored:
I still have a long ways to go as an artist, but it’s fun to see how things have changed. I understand proportions a little better, hair has a better shape, and the shading seems nice. Nothing too impressive. I still don’t understand backgrounds or anything like that. And I honestly don’t know how to draw full body art.
But I’m getting there!
And it feels nice to see improvement.

So I realized that I haven’t posted anything to my Tumblr lately. I need to get back in the habit since I’ve started drawing again.

Hey everyone! I’m back for a little bit.
I’ve been busy with my instagram accounts @jennibeemine and @jennibeedoodles, so if you’re looking for fun stuff, don’t hesitate to follow me there.
However, I am going to start trying to post more here on Tumblr too when I get the chance. But for now, I just thought I’d share some bird cards I have in the making (also shared on my jennibeemine tumblr).
Enjoy!

Experimenting with Walnut ink. This stuff is amazing! I got it from ButternutHobbyCrafts on Etsy. I'm so excited to use it for Inktober this year.

I never finished inktober because I ran out of notebook paper. But the other day I rediscovered an old notebook and thought I'd paint these lovely fall ladies. The paper was terrible for watercolor; it soaked through. But I'm happy with the final result anyway.
