After a delightful catch up with Genevieve we walked to the wall of love near Montmartre for a quick look. There are over 300 signs in more than200 languages written on the wall. Very impressive. Numerous tourists were having their photo taken there. Now we are at the airport having checked in our luggage and time to relax. Looking forward to coming home 😁😁

We are at Paris Charles de Gaule waiting in the airport lounge… had a great catch up lunch with Genevieve earlier today ! Next stops Zurich, Singapore and Brisbane…

We made it to Paris!!!… after a wonderful stop over in Champagne with Claude and Laurence and a long lunch we grabbed our final train… here is the view from our hotel near Jardin des Plantes. For some reason I fell asleep during the 45 minute train trip... maybe the champagne, white wine or red wine I helped Claude consume with lunch or maybe the nibbles, the salads, the French bread, the cheeses or the fresh berries from the garden?

It's one of life's mysteries.....

We made it! Back in France and our last travel day today to Champagne this morning and Paris tonight!! Incroyable !

Last train of the day heads for Strasbourg… arrives in half an hour at 11:58 pm. Yay!

It only has taken 4 trains and a 1.5 hour bus trip to get here.

It's nearly 10pm ... our train keeps moving and things are looking good for our midnight arrival .... one more train after this one (a little train we have used many times before between Germany and France. We have had a bit of conversation with other passengers who have been friendly...we are remaining patient and just taking things one hour at a time...

Yep we missed our connection in Flensburg... organised new reservations (at no cost) …arrived late in Hamburg…organised new reservations again…second class only available…got on the new train…other people already had reservations for our seats !! Anyway we’re on this 6 hour train with one final train to go…should arrive in Strasbourg 11:55pm.. fingers crossed :)

Ok does this look like a train to you? The train strike stuff in Denmark continues so we caught an earlier train 1 (to Fredericia) and then discovered train 2 (to Hamburg via Flensburg )was cancelled… but there’s a bus to Flensburg( had to be pretty smart to get on).

Unfortunately we’ll probably miss our connections to trains 3 (Hamburg),4(Offenburg) and 5(Strasbourg). Looks like if we’re lucky we’ll be in Strasbourg by midnight ! Fingers crossed again…

On the train to Fredericia Jen asks me what the name of the station is before ours….not sure how to respond ….

We finally had a good look at the coins we have received here... the ones with holes are worth (in Aussie dollars) 20c, 40c and $1. The other two are worth $2 and $4 for the bigger one. Every price is given in Danish Krone, though Euros are accepted in some places... mostly we just pay with our iphones like we do at home.

Enjoying a bit of cloud cover ... not so hot today... pretty much perfect weather for sightseeing.

It was a nice relaxing and profitable day and we sat by the river watching rowers and boaties go past. Washing done and enough to get us home now so it’s only a matter of logistics with the trains to reach Strasbourg then Paris. It has been quite warm here and a little unpleasant to sleep even though we’ve had the window wide open so looking forward to air con in Paris. Home here we come 😁😁

The Christiania bikes -used mostly to transport little kids, shopping or for making deliveries but once in a while you see a couple travelling this way even though the carts aren’t made for adults -well not this sort anyhow
